Maybe you could crochet a plant that hangs down from the shelf, that would look nice.

Good luck working through your "to be read" collection. In my experience the books in always outnumber books out. Kind of like skeins of yarn 😂😂

Love the idea of putting the spoon in the pot plant, except I would use cling wrap around the handle so it doesn't tarnish or anything ... Don't use your compostable crap wrap ... You'll need to buy proper cling wrap 😆

I admire the number of books you get through. I used to read like that, but in 2014 I was very ill and for some reason since then I battle to concentrate on a book. I do audio books now. Not enough though. Love your channel and your family.
@coralmortier3472 This happened to me too. I had cancer during covid and have not been able to physically read like I used too. I am so grateful for audiobooks!

Totally feel you on the shelf project. We only hang things on our walls if the previous owners left nails or brackets. And when light bulbs burn out, that’s a sign to move - that is how stressful household chores are for me 😅 😂😅

Looking at your bookshelves, I am ticking off books I have read like In Memorial, which I read last November . And books I also have on my TBR like Graham Norton , yellowface & recently I have picked up a Ruth Jones book who I have never read but hope has some humour in it . I do like getting books from charity shops. I also take my books to the charity shops .

Don’t use a NAIL - use a Command Strip hanger. They’re movable/removable…no holes in your freshly painted kitchen wall. (For your lobster cutting board)
Your shelves look fabulous just as they are! I also have a library of collected books to read and so enjoy choosing the next one when I'm ready, it's lovely to have them to look at/have available. So many books to read, so little time! Same with knitting LOL but those are my favourite dilemmas 😂

I always think DIY shelves are stressful as there is so much that might go wrong! Thankfully yours are looking great. I think paint or oil would look equally good for finishing them. Can’t imagine a house with no books. When we moved house last time we couldn’t believe how many we had and had to have a huge destash! Take care x

Love the shelves - well done both of you. I also hate having to decide on paint colours, brackets and such. We have had our bedroom painted ( yes, that took some time in which colour do we want) , binned the inherited lamp shade and now have a lightbulb hanging because of the decision for a replacement. We have so many books as in our old house we had a library. One room my husband still misses. X

How long did it take you to walk 6 miles?
Just over an hour and a half 🚶🏻♀️ It would have taken longer at the beginning of the year but my pace has increased in the four months I’ve been walking :)
