Flower cookie recipe: 150g frozen strawberries/ or strawberry jam 80g of sugar (I used 1:1 brown and white) + 15g brown sugar for strawberry jam (if you're making your own) 160g plain flour 60g ground almonds 90g softened butter 1 egg Pinch of salt 1 tbsp vanilla extract If you're making your own jam, then put your strawberries into a small saucepan, add a splash of water (about 1-2 tbsp) and 15g of sugar. Simmer on a small heat until it's jammy and thickened. Otherwise you can use any store bought jam. In a separate bowl mix together softened butter with sugar. I used a silicone spoon, but you can also cream it using a hand mixer. Then add vanilla extract and 1 egg. Whisk until combined. Add flour, ground almonds and salt. Mix well with a spoon, then start mixing by hand until the dough forms a ball. If the dough has gotten too warm and sticky, put it to the fridge for 20 minutes. Dust the surface with some flour and roll out your dough (I did it in batches), it should be about 3-5mm thick. Stamp with flower shaped cookie cutter. Then stamp half of your flowers with a smaller cookie cutter (or any round shaped glass etc) in the middle. Preheat the oven and bake for 10 minutes at 180C/ 356F until lightly golden. Let both the jam and the cookies cool down before assembling. Add a bit of jam onto the base cookie and then put a cookie with a hole in the middle on top. :)
Do you know how to heat-vacuum seal your jam jars..When jam is made have jars firstly heated gently in oven to completely sterilize them. Heat water - volume to about half the height of the height of the jars - to hot. Put jars upright in the water. Having turned off the heat spoon in the hot jam. Put the lids over the jars leaving a space for steam to escape. Wipe the lid tops clean with a moist then dry cloth. Wait a little for the jam to decrease in temperature to warm, then tighten the lids. Remove from water to cool before storage at room temperature. When you open the lid from the jam jar there should be a 'pop' sound - that means your jam was heat-vacuum sealed. Is this correct Mrs Daria?
People who get excited about the sunrises, sunsets, changing colors of leaves, shifting of seasons, starry skies, wildflowers, butterflies, petrichor, cats, unimaginably wonderful watercolor hues, peaceful music, heartfelt and deep conversations, and all the beauty exists around us, contained in the mundane, in the most unexpected places and moments, are my kind of people ♡🌿🌼🍂🐾
Thank you for your videos and for sharing your thoughts! I’m watching them from the middle of the war in Ukraine and they make me get much calmer🥰 I try to do exactly the same things you say - and those simple things are the main ones that really help to survive and to save my mental health and focus on good things in my life, while the war is still going on. Wish you all the best!
I have a wonderful Ukraine family of 6 as neighbors, and they have been here for two years. I treasure the fact that they are in safety now, and wish you peace and safety soon. Such terrible things go on in this world, but as we see in this lovely video, there is also so much beauty and goodness in our world too. Blessings from Jilly & Madge the rescue greyhound, from West Devon, England. xxx
What you said isn't nonsense. We can all be artists in some way, with many forms of expression. To create is art. The way a gardener designs a landscape and creates a living canvas, the clothes and accessories we combine, to embellish a hand-written letter, decorate our spaces, our food, etc. So many possibilities! 😊
Absolutely NOT nonsense. I felt like you were inside my head the entire time I watched this video. Putting to words the exact feelings I'm having, especially the last year. Why do we have to stop having fun? Why must we give up the things that brought us joy as children? I am reclaiming some of that for myself and have never felt better mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Thank you for your beautiful, heartfelt work.❤
I saw your books of the Bronte sisters, I love them. I have been on the ground were they lived (Haworth) , and made a walk to.Top withens. It was amazing there. Walking on the same ground, we're they once walked. I have been in the house as well, were they lived. And saw personal belongings from the family. I like your cat as well, I adore them.
So, there are simple things that will help us feel happy, just like small flowers pinned to your hair, simple but very beautiful. Let's always be innocent and happy like this, everything we encounter will become much lighter. The video is very beautiful and pleasant.
😊 So true, Daria! The most important things in life are for free, and time of reflection is often the most productive in terms of real importance! Action would not exist if we didn't take time for thought, and for that to happen, we usually need a reset that comes naturally when we slow down. 😉 Fear of missing out (the dreaded FOMO 😱😅) is not only a deterrent of decisions, but also a very powerful and toxic time thieve! It kills creativity, as we get carried away by its demands, and are left with no time to ourselves, to reflect and create! Thank you so much for painting with your camera, and the way you make your videos, to be not only beautiful, but also food for thought! 😃👍 And talking about food, thank you as well for the yummy cookie recipe! 😋Happiness is so often cooked in the bottom of a bowl or a pot! 😉 And BTW, I love bumblebees too! 😉Thank you!! 🙏🤗🥰😘
You know, I always love reading your comments! Thank you! 😊🌸 I agree with what you say. It’s so difficult to find that balance between what’s necessary for a sustainable living, and the living part itself. There are so many options, so many values each of us have. But that’s also the beautiful (though messy) part of life - figuring out what’s most important to you.
@@IamDaria I have published three novels. One is social and two are magical realism But my most important project is being completed, which is a series of high fantasy novels, as I love building imaginary worlds.
I would really like to thank you for sharing every video. I'm Lebanese, but I have travelled to KSA since 2021 to work and support my family. It is a drastic change to me because I used to stay most of the time in nature in Lebanon. I lived in the mountains. And here in KSA, no nature at all. I felt like I find myself again in your videos. Instead of going outside, I can watch your videos. I can remember myself in Lebanon, my moments in nature, my feelings. So I can say your channel is that space for me amidst the desert. Sending you lots of love, you are great! ❤
Actually, if you collected your video "essays" together in a book I would totally buy it! I love your musings and insights - as well as the visual beauty of your video "paintings"! 💗
This is a character trait, I still have. Everything has to be monetized. This prevented me from having fun for sake of having fun. Lifting weights to be strong in daily life instead of just enjoying the pump. Making music to create an alternative income stream instead of just enjoying the beauty of the instruments. Today I sat outside of a small Café in my area which I know for ten years. And I saw the sign, depicting the name of the train station nearby. I sipped the Coffee and realized that it was under a small oldfashioned roof, made of iron and it looked like it was from a different era. I really was inside that moment and told my wife that these momentary snapshots should appear more often in our lives. Really being inside that moment. In your words I can find myself. Thanks for, sharing your thoughts. 😉👍🏻
Life is everything we want it to be. It’s important to remember that we control our actions and we can change things for better. The things that are out of our control just pretty much have to be dealt with. But it’s always up to us whether we let them get to us or not. Monetising every little hobby is something my mind always drifts to unfortunately so feeling that doing something isn’t productive is a feeling I very much understand 😂 it’s important to do things that make you happy though, even if they are not going to make you rich or famous 😊 Beautiful video and thank you for sharing your musings yet again! ❤
You are so right! 😊 Oh and I think too many of us want to monetize everything we do or be super efficient and perfect at every little thing. But that removes lighthearted fun out of living. It shouldn’t be that way!

What’s funny is when interviewing for a new hire my company always asks about hobbies and interests. We honestly never think well of candidates who answer in a work related way or say they don’t have hobbies. So in a way taking down time and finding ways to relax and have fun would help you advance at my place of work 😊. Hi Daria. From PSL (our slow living channel) we want to say 'thank you' for making these wonderful videos✨Cookies look delicious!
Nice flowers apply in your hair as like a clip hair not make by leaves for a crown but it's truely soo pretty 🫶🫶💫
It’s such a lovely thing to do! The wind blew most of the flowers away too fast though! 😄🌸
@@IamDaria yes really the wind blew most of flower and life become beautiful with these🌺🌺
