The answer is yes, i do it comfortably, 4 pets, netflix, internet, smart phone on a plan, vehicle insured and gassed up, license paid, $30 subscription box just for fun, spend $300 on weed a month, rent and bills paid, groceries stocked up, still have money to go out with friends regularly, what more do you think flipping burgers entitles you too? Cant stay away from the bar?

To live in Toronto with minimum wage you cannot live. Live outside Toronto on the fringes and take the GO train, much cheaper. But still it would be hard to live and it would be stressful. Toronto and Vancouver are very expensive.

When i came to Canada i was shocked that the prices of houses are way to far from being responsible
Around 1 million for what i would call it a wooden box?
Currently i make minimum wage and i can't afford living a normal life
So i have to transfer money from back home on monthly basis in order to survive

If youre responsible enough to have kids you should already have been responsible enough to get a decent job in the first place, expecting min wage to go up just because some people screw themselves with poor decicions and get themselves in too deep is like patting them on the back for sucking at life

I wish it were easy to get a job. However, with all the closures, (sears, toys are us, factories, etc.) It's difficult to even get a job with everyone fighting for even a janitorial position. Not factoring in such expenses as travel, child care, (if children are involved), extra expenses if the job position does not offer benefits.

    • @lifeofabachelor8547

as a resident of toronto there are plenty of places to get jobs just have to be willing to work hard and flexible for your employer. fast food places such as mcdonalds and tim hortons are always hiring not to mention retail such as walmart also are usually hiring. they are all jobs at minumum wage. costco is a great place to work great benefits and much better wages but they dont hire as often. then there are call center positions or customer service places. also hot dog stand or food trucks also hire quite abit. i travel as a trucker quite a bit to alberta for work because they pay more there but my girlfriend is a executive for a office here so its better to live here. but when i come here for a few days people are always calling me for odd jobs and work sometimes it is not good jobs sometimes it is. but its abit of money at the end of the day and that is all that matter.

Well i am going to canada for the first time, neither i have such close friends who i think would be right to give their addresses. So how to solve it.

minimum wage needs to be reduced to $7 for 14 year olds. then it will go up a dollar every year as they get older. Adults need atleast $15 per hour to survive but a 15 year old only needs $8 and a 16 year old only needs $9 ect.
