18HP 196CC Race Motor Runs! | $100 SLEEPER Facebook Marketplace Find (Big Cam, Billet Internals!)

In today’s video, Jaxon and I fire up the new (to us) $100 Facebook Marketplace Sleeper Race Motor Find!! This is one of the old motors that Harbor Freight used to sell before they switched over to the Predator 212CC motors. This is a Greyhound 196CC Honda Clone motor, these motors were built by Lifan and sold through Harbor Freight. It has been previously built by someone and has a mild cam (we aren’t sure the specs, most likely either your basic Mod 2 cam or a .265 cam with the correct valve springs for whichever cam is in it), it has an ARC Racing Billet Flywheel, it has had a full governor and low oil cut-off sensor delete, it has a Flat Top High Compression Race Piston in it and it has also had some head work done to it (again not sure what the specs are and what’s all been done to it but there are signatures engraved into the outside of the head, which usually indicates there has been some work done internally. It has most likely been ported, but maybe polished and maybe decked). This motor had no carburetor or exhaust when we bought it so we went ahead and bought an intake/ adapter for a Flat Slide carburetor to fit a 196CC Honda Clone, the silicon boot to connect the carburetor and the intake manifold and a Keihin PWK 24MM Flat Slide carburetor. We also bought a UNI 2 Stage Air Filter for it and a 3 Stage Header from GoPowerSports. I had an extra Autolite AR3910X Non-Restrictor Race Spark Plug laying around, an NGK Non-Restrictor Spark Plug Boot/ Cap laying around and a set of NR Racing 1.0 Ratio Shaft-Mounted Rockers that I went ahead and threw on the motor as well. Needless to say, this motor is an absolute monster!! It sounds so mean and we cannot wait to reveal what it’ll be going on. (Hint: Big Power, Small Package) So with that being said, we really hope you enjoy today’s video!

Greyhound Pistons are stronger than the 212 predators that’s why they kept the piston. Greyhound was sued by Honda they made exact clone of the Honda motor that’s why they stop making them

I can vouch for this. I still use one today. I just put stage 2 parts on it after running it stock for 8 years. Its a 2010 production run

Except that Honda didn't sue Greyhound because that was just a name for the engine. The Greyhounds were made by Lifan. And as mentioned in the video they are not exact clones of the Honda GX200. Different block and head. And notice the odd gas tank mounts. I made a mounting bracket in order to use a standard clone gas tank on mine. I bought 3 of them back in 09. $88 a piece.
