Wow best tools set. My local bicycle shop told me replace the whole crankset.. But i didnt want to replace my bike original and sturdy crankset with aftermarket parts. So I did little research and found you 😁👍.
In bicycle there is no such thing as after market products, including the bicycle manufacturers use other brand carnks itself, there are few reputated brands, if you got with that it will be far better than few crankset that comes with the bicycle.
@@josephliu6071 Theres a helicoil size that is specific to mtb cranks online. In regards to re threading mtb pedals im not sure about that, I think its best to but a new pair or buy a new pedal axle
I dont think its target is someone who repairs his bike in a garage. I kinda agree that some prices of park and unior tools are outrageus. but as a bike mechanic i can tell you its a tool you need a few times a year but when you do customers are happy to pay a premium for service, theyre glad that theyre able to keep their crank. Money doesnt come with maintenence knowledge so ive seen stripped threads on a brand new multiple thousand $ bikes 🍻
I have a question about this. My nee sram xx1 cranks came from the factory with defective threads but there’s none in stock anywhere right now so I’d like to try and fix them with these inserts. However, I also would like to reduce the insert inset on sram xx1 cranks the insert threads are recessed by at least 2mm making some pedals incompatible. Is there a preferred method to fixing this? I was thinking perhaps to use these threads with the pedals in question and 1 washer installed and seat the insert just so the pedals are able to spin freely then remove after cured. Then I was thinking of applying epoxy around the insert to fill the area around the new union insert and the recess on the crank this way the washer will have more surface area to rest against instead of just resting against the nee union insert itself. I hope that’s making sense. Any tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Xx1 cranks cannot have defects 99.9%, however you could have replaced it if at all it came defected, but its not possible to thread this crank easily as it is carbon crank and already there will be one inserts on them.
Question: If I am repairing the left pedal instead (vs. the right in the video), does the coil and threading tap tool go in clockwise also? (I understand for the left side, the pedal tightens counter clockwise). Thank you.
The coil and tap tool go in the opposite direction for the left pedal. Anticlockwise. That's why there are 2 tap tools and 2 sets of coils, 1 set for each direction.
So I asked my local bike shop if they re-thread crank levers and they responded yes. Then went on to explain to me that I need to buy a new crank lever and asked me which side was it I told him the right side and he says oh we need to buy a new, crank lever and the whole mechanism like yeah no

Great product...
THE KIT IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN A WHOLE NEW CRANKSET!??!?!?!?!?!
@Ian Brown unless you are a bike shop owner/mechanic, why would you ever use this tool more than 2-3 times in your life
@@georgev4898 I think that's the point.
This kit is not for privateers. This product is aimed at bikeshops. Theres a cheap alternative tho, Helicoil or buying a whole new crankset
Mark, do you know which Helicoil I would need to re-thread my bike pedal?

Excelente inovação e tecnologia
What are the sizes of the helicoil
what happens if you rethread and don't use an insert?
Do you still sell this kit ?
Hi all, is there a difference in size between a cleaner tap and cutter tap?
At $422 australian. Its cheaper just to buy a few pairs of crank sets lol
