This video is here to help you replace ribbon cable on you Mavic Pro with can help you FIX you Motor overload gimbal problem
Aircraft Motor overload error on app can be fixed if you will change flex cable on your gimbal
This gimbal ribbon cable is so sensitive and small damage get bring this overload error
Ribbon cable damage can be from crash small or big one or I see damaged flex from transporting your mavic pro without gimbal plastic holder with been this problem on this video .
For 90% motor overload on mavic pro is ribbon cable damage and another 10% can be something else
If you don`t have video signal you will need Signal cable as well
is the cable just next to ribbon cable an is more easy for change just follow cable and gently replace.
I can`t find any damage on original flex by just simply look but under microscope I find very small damage on top
After i change flex there is no motor overload on gimbal any more if your one still have that problem you are probably damaged new flex as well
like I set on video you must be very careful to do this

Thank you for the instructive step by step on Gimbal repair. I have followed this fix but I don't think I need to replace the cord I hope. The drone crashed when connection between phone and drone dropped off only a 10 meters apart. After 20 seconds the drone wanted to go up to 20 meters but a tree stopped it and then it flew into a wall and slid down slowly as the propellers scratched all the way down to the ground. I bought new props and one of the rubber bands holding the gimbal to the bracket severed. I used a touch of super glue and its good as new. However the camera message was the same as yours but the wire looks perfect. So I know I am writing this now before it all goes back together but I think it will be good. If not well I just have to order the cable. Any way you did a great job explaining and I have given you a thumbs up and subscribed. Cheers. Christian.

you are the man!! I was flying my mavic in sport mode a lot, and no surprise, gimbal developed a fault and was unable to auto-calibrate. As per your recommendation, i decided to replace gimbal cable first, to see if it helps, because cable was very cheap (£9 on ebay). And now gimbal calibrates ok and i can fly again!! thanks!!!

Does it always need a new flex cable? Wouldn't you first check to be sure all connections are seated? Or is it more often than not a bad flex cable?
From my experience is for 95% problem with the ribbon cable
Hi frog tech tips :) I was just wondering, how did your camera behave before doing this fix? Currently, mine looks forward, then very suddenly folds all the way in so the camera lens is facing fully downwards. sometimes it goes back to looking forwards, but then within a second it starts to look down again or towards the back plastic of the drone.
I'm happy to be brave and try this awesome fix you've showed in two videos I've clicked on - but yeah, not sure if my drone has the same issue. The camera just shakes like crazy and barely points in the right direction. I have writing come up "Gimbal motor load too large. Please check if the gimbal clamp has been removed. No clamp has been removed, everything visually looks fine.

Hi Jared you write absolutely what usually camera do when is ribbon cable foulty and this damage can happen just over time.i will definitely recommend you replace Flex cable I have more videos about this problem on my channel as well with some more explain on some videos.just have a look or any more questions just ask.

that is a nice detailed instruction. However I am a bit afraid opening the "baby" up.... I came across this video as I occasionally (note: not always) get heavy gimbal shake (sometimes with, sometimes without an "excessive vibration" warning) and that is absolutely useless for films for my Golf&Tesla channel (I use the drone mainly for my golf course reviews, views of Tesla superchargers from above, and occasional landscape footage). And I don't want to take the drone and camera/gimbal apart... - but thanks anyway. Your video is well made.

and i have a broken left rear arm and gimbal doesnt move at all on start up.
Im getting "1- Aircraft Motor Overload. Check whether gimbal clamp is removed.
2-Gimbal is restarting.Check that the gimbal rotates smoothly if restart fails again." error messages
However my gimbal doesnt seem to have any apparent visual damage.

Great video. In my case the gimbal doesn't move at all but i do have image transmission. Do you know where can be the problem? Just had my drone stuck in a 9m tall tree and rained on the drone for 2 days. Dried for one evening then next day I've noticed that the gimbal stopped moving. Any advice much appreciated. Thanks
Hi even small damage can be problems as this gimbal is so sensitive but first at all open you drone and check for any water damage

Replaced the cable on mine yesterday still same gimble issue also now getting front and downward sensor issues. Dji won't do anything as its more than 12 months old plus has water damage due to a crash.
Would replacing the whole gimble solve the issue rather than just the cable?
Kikkawa Ryu hi ye there can bi motor problem as you write your is liquid as well do you still have video signal from camera if yes you can try just motor part with is much cheaper that complete gimbal
Plus are you sure you done all correct as even small damage can bring motor overload problem back
How bad is your liquid damage and be sure you not make damege on vison camera but sometimes need all recalibrate after new gimbal first try solve gimbal problem

Frog - Tech - Tips I can still see everything it all focuses just fine but will go floppy from time to time when recording, only recently happened after driving to Scotland from near London. Also had a software update which could do more checks but no clue. I'll give motor replacement a go if not I'll try and claim on insurance

Hi I managed to replace the ribbon cable and the drone camera feed is live and still registering on the App. but the gimbal still has the same issue. Any other troubleshooting recommendation?
Hi are you sure you don't make any damge when you fit a new felex as even very small damage even invisible is big problem

i cant find any visible damaged . when i power it on it moves up and down and all the movement it does it doesnt come into position , and in the caliberation it completes 51 % and it stops showin caliberation not successful
and it moves smoothly except in two position . i feel something is blocking the movement . and i have no idea about the bearing and how it works so can i open it without any mistake
+ashique zygx on that's sound for me your motor is foulty as well bed news is you will need new motor as is not repair posibility so far I know I tried that with no luck at all and as you can buy new motor about 40 pound now is no reason spend more time with find how to repair just buy new motor and I hope that will help you please check description for second link

My mavic pro got crash and have the “aircraft motor overload. Check whether gimbal clamp is removed” error message in the dji go 4 apps. Tried many times to calibrate the camera gumbal, but do not work. Is there possible of flex damage? Image and video still appear and can still record.

My gimble stopped working it has image but it does not move when I start it or on the remote. Do think its the cable ?

I recently crashed my drone in to a tree. no visible damage apart from the tiny little l bracket attached to the gimbal vibration board has snapped. is this easily replaced? also when I turn the mavic on there is no movement at all with the gimbal and the error gimbal obstruction keeps popping up. I can move the gimbal freely with my fingers. is this likely to be a problem with the ribbon cable?or something more sinister?

The message GIMBAL Motor OVERLOAD comes when I start the Drone.
There it wanst to kalibrate. Then you can here that the gimble is moving in all directions and hitting something.
Is the replace of the cable also going to fix this problem?

I had a minor crash and now getting the “overload error” message. I’m still getting great video but the gimbal/camera keeps moving up and down as if starting up. Recalibration doesn’t work, stops at 5%. Any idea what the issue could be? Thank you in advance!

The gimbal camera on my mavic do nothing .. no movement and no gimbal dance when i power it on ... it crashed from 3 feet height and shows the same error of motor overloaded ... the video transmission is fine i can record the video but cant move gimble up and down and no movement in the start .. will i too have to change ths gimble flex cable ribbon? +Osama Ali hi there is possible damaged power as well but I will try open gimbal for inspection and check ribbon cable visually if you find any damage just replace that cable as is cheap always best options to try as first point if you can't find any visible damage you will need try top border or gimbal motor but as you still have signal I will bet you ribbon cable is cut
Thankyou for the reply ... i have inspected it deeply and couldn't find any physical damage to the gimbal ... all i know is that it does not dance in the start when i power up the drone and it gives the motor overloaded error ..
i will unscrew it tomorrow and wil let you know ... going to order the ribbon online tomorrow...
+Osama Ali yop as you can see on this video there is no damage at all visible by eye but replacement help and there been no problem anymore and if you check my second video for gimbal repair witch is more detailed please have a look you will see damage is between vibra plate and holder quite well hide yop open and check that gimbal and remember even microscopic damage on ribbon cable give you motor overload and as your looks like dead I think will be similar cut like I have on that second video

hi did you get straight after replace or after some time as if been straight after maybe you damage flex in fitting process or can by faulty top pcb as well
@@frogtechtips its straight after fix.. I brought it from bangood.com, I carefully fixed it.. No physical damage seen
this cable is so soft even invisible damage can make gimbal overload or new fex can be faulty I see that as well I will try check all conection cable or motor as well and maybe again reconnect all

No crash, only used it 4-5 times. It seems like the gimbal gets stuck on the left side.

hmm weird it works for me. Can you click on my name and look at my latest video.
*I tried to recalibrate the gimbal but it get stucks on 5% and says that i should keep the aircraft stationary. Also when it calibrates it seem to hit the wall sometimes and maybe thats where the problem is.

Why two screens? It makes the video harder to watch. Also the music sounds louder than your voice at the end. Good effort though.

Why this happens is easy usually because you don't use gimbal support part when you Cary your dron in bag and Also is really common foult there is no reason to explain why is happening in this video is how to fix This problem and yes replacing this flex will help

I just replaced my gimbal ribbon cable. Both motors are working but gimbal calibration doesn't take place. What is the issue ??
