This video is here to help you replace ribbon cable on you Mavic Pro with can help you FIX you Motor overload gimbal problem
Instruction how to reassembly DJi Mavic PRO Gimbal Will probably help you Fix This motor overload problem on your Mavic Pro
Motor overload error on app can be fixed if you will change flex cable on your gimbal
This gimbal ribbon cable is so sensitive and small damage get bring this overload error
Ribbon cable damage can be from crash small or big one or I see damaged flex from transporting your Mavic pro without gimbal plastic holder.
For 90% motor overload on DjiMavic pro is ribbon cable damage and another 10% can be something else
If you don`t have video signal you will need Signal cable as well
is the cable just next to ribbon cable an is more easy for change just follow cable and gently replace.
As you can see on this video there been clear flex damage and
After i change flex there is no motor overload on gimbal any more if your one still have that problem you are probably damaged new flex as well
like I set on video you must be very careful to do this

Thank You for this the best video for this problem I have seen. After a 37mph crash into trees my camera was permanently facing to the ground, the vibration rubbers torn from the plate and once plate changed, the gimbal would not calibrate over 5% even though the gimbal and ribbon looked almost like new. I wasn't confident this new ribbon would fix the issue but it has, despite being worryingly complex and finicky to change. I subscribed of course and wish you the very best with your great channel which really helps idiots like me who crash!

yes, it takes several videos to get it, I am still struggling with the looping of the gimble wire, it is very difficult to see and maintain the position of the gimbal when you are threading it, it can be blurry or fingers in the way. not your fault, not a complaint. it is just a little difficult. Thanks for the video and your help, it is one of the better ones I have seen.

Hey wanted to thank you for the video. It help me replace my gimbal cable which I had never done before. But there is a couple of thing I wanted to point out when doing my cable compared to your. maybe you can do another video showing the things I'm talking about for someone else that might need help on replacing theirs. First off I see the cable has letters by each connector. It would be nice to show which letter connector goes where on the gimbal. Also my connector didn't have sticky tape in spots where your did. Also this one might be a little harder to show but try to show how you routed the cable better. Without your fingers in the way I had trouble trying to figure out how the cable would turn because it keep getting twisted. Also one thing that was not pointed out in the video was the connector in the back of the drone that comes unplugged when you remove the top. I never knew it was there. I got everything put back together and fired it up and it kept give me a error and I looked it up and had to take it back a part and then I seen the cable and plugged it in and then it worked great. Also you might Mention that you might have to recalibrate the vision sensors as well. other then that is was not that bad to do thanks again for your video.

I came across this video as I occasionally (note: not always) get heavy gimbal shake (sometimes with, sometimes without an "excessive vibration" warning) and that is absolutely useless for films for my Golf&Tesla channel (I use the drone mainly for my golf course reviews, views of Tesla superchargers from above, and occasional landscape footage). However would like NOT to need to take the camera and gimbal apart, just afraid to break things even more in the process - but thanks anyway. Your video is well made.

Awesome video man... I bought a refurbished camera/gimbal assembly off Ebay after I lost my original camera assembly in a crash... It was a fairly easy installation but when I powered the drone I had video feed but the gimbal didn't do the "gimbal dance" and it gave me a gimbal overload message... not even 2min later I smelled smoke from the new refurb assembly... does that sound like a ribbon cable to you? I ordered a ribbon cable and planning to do this job but I just want to make sure I diagnosed it right... thank you again dude... great video 👏

Great video. Did you still have an image with a broken ribbon cable? I am trying to figure out what my problem is after I crashed the mavic pro indoors. I got two error messages on my app screen one saying gimbal error the other one says camera sensor error. I got no image at all on my app but still can take pictures. Does this mean I have to replace the signal cable as well?

Great video!!! I do have one question though... If my gimbal tends to drift left and/or right during flight does that mean I need to replace the entire gimbal or could I simply replace the gimbal arm?
Try calibration first and upgrade all firmware
I tried Auto Calibration, IMU calibration, and everything else. I am afraid something might be wrong with the device itself. It did take a crash when I first got it but I wouldn’t have known in the footage then because only just recently did i start editing the video....?
@@bwalker205 try calibration in dji assist on pc or Mac software if that pass should by ok if not and you say you have crash there is possibility flex damage as well

at 9:54 something important happened because that's where I'm having a problem. Should it be sticking at this point or not necessarily .? I'm not sure if mine came not as sticky as some but I would like to hear a clear talk about the importance of the adhesive points. I think it's probably the most important part of the assembly , however out of 9 videos so far , no one really talks about it and if they do you can hardly hear them or their hand is in the way when they mention with mumble what it is they are doing. I believe that you can make a kick ass video for this which is badly needed . Danke
hi ye you right some new cable come with bad double tape and you need you see differ to be sure is stick. iam not sure how important it is bit always is better if hold on position as this cable is so sensitive. I have talked already in one of my video not sure on with one as I made tham about 1y ago look on my channel I have more videos about this gimbal problem on my channel and I will have a look on my archive to see If I have some footage to use make video clearly just about that

Hi Frog. Brilliant video. Hope I never have to do that job. It frightened me watching you performing it! I have a problem with my camera on the Mavic Pro. It is focussed at about 5 or 10 cm and will not change or autofocus. Any ideas what I can do? I have tried camera reset. It's been working perfectly - I haven't crashed it or dropped it.

Hi Frog, I don't understand what you mean. I have been quoted 300 dollars for a repair and told it could be more if other problems are found with the camera. Seems very expensive to me.
Derek White really 300 is to much just buy lens and try replace yourself or buy complete gimbal if you need link for part I mean let me know I will send you that
New gimbal you can buy about 150 now I think and is so easy to replace

1:47 The flex cable is broken the motors will not move at all. Gimbal overload comes from when the flex cable is install incorrectly causing the motors to overwork... not when its broken if i'm correct?
hi yes if is completely broken motor not move at all that's correct and give you overload problem if its small damage motor still move as crazy and give you overload error problem as well or you can have burn on flex I see many problem but for 95% if you have overload error you need replace ribbon cable to fix problem last 5% can be PCB fault or motor at self on gimbal from about 50 drone I repair only 2 of them been different problem as ribbon cable for fix this motor overload error

Hi i hadn’t use my drone for awhile and after turning it back on I wasn’t able to fly it. I had a gimbal motor overload and I order the flex cable from your description and after replacing it. I now have Gimbal Gyroscope Error, Forward Left Vision, forward right vision, Vision System Error Hardware Malfunction contact Dji Support. What should I do now?
Hi IAM not sure. Did you all connect correctly as vision system is to small camera on the front of your Mavic sound for my you forgot plug in or make some damage to it when you opening otherwise I really not sure is long time ago I repairs last Mavic

hi frog tech tips! i have a mavic pro which i crashed but had it fixed but recently started giving me the gimbal overload headache, i have narrowed the issue down to some tension when the gimbal is starting up, just like you showed in your video at 1:08 it moves freely to one side but when it rotates to the other side it gets stuck, i don't know whether it's some dirt making it jam there! please help!!

Frog - Tech - Tips thank you for the fast reply 🙏🏽, first off I had good friend fix it for me and he’s busy now, he told me it wasn’t an issue he just opened it up and cleaned it up really, moved the gimbal a little to stop it from hitting the top on startup and it was working again, later on it started shaking like crazy during flight, and now it says gimbal overload, but I noticed that during startup when the camera rotates clockwise and anti clockwise it gets jammed when it goes clockwise, so I’m suspecting it might not be the flex cable, we’ll I hope it isn’t

hi thanks so much for you support and if you have problem with gimbal I will recommend replace ribbon cable anyway I have more time situation where ribbon cable looks absolutely perfect but still give overload error I think I made a video about that as well
if you have problem with gimbal this is cheap to try for fix and usually for 90% times fix the problem
After a small bump at 50cm from the ground and without visual damage, the gimbal does not respond and only the Pitch motor moves.
I have already changed two flex cables of the gimbal and with both, the Yaw and Roll motors do not move, only the Pitch works.
There is no seizing of the motors, they turn well by hand, but it seems that they do not get voltage. He has not received any serious blows.

Hey. I replaced my ribbon cable but my camera will pitch but not roll and says gimble overload. I notice that when i turn on the mavic, after just a few seconds the ribbon cable starts to get hot so i immediately turn it off. I dropped my drone into water but took it apart fully and dried all the components and will now fly perfectly fine but im left with the camera not rolling. I get image but my side to side movement is gone. Could there be a short in the motor?
As 8s water damage I will definitely replacing full gimbal as there is probably some damege on motor look on description there is some links

Hello , I hat the issue so if I turn my mavic on the gimbal shakes around and hits the drone , I already replaced the ribbon cable but I think I was stuck between gimbal and a motor cover on the gimbal . After replacing the gimbal itself and the ribbon cable it still dissent work do you have any ideas ? Would be great to hear from you ☺️

Do you check all motor it is move smooth if not that can be problem and you will need complete part or can be top logic board fault as well I have that one time

Alejandro Hernandez ok thats you have crash hmm is thar any overheat on any of motor when you switch on if yes check that mother how smooth is it but if you replaced ribbon cable correctly and error is still there I will bet for motor problem and I hope you not damage new cable as is so delicate and even small nearly unvisible damage can occur that foult if you are sure you do all correct you have tree option
Replaced all motor you can buy this part about £40 or can be faulty top logic board (get short damage from crash I see that once) but this part is very hard find as spare
Last option is replaced complete gimbal with is so expensive that's why is as last option maybe is best way send somewhere for repair where can do diagnosis for you

charles walls are you still have gimbal overload error if yes there can be problem with motor or top logic board or you are damaged new flex when you fitting

@@frogtechtips thanks for replying. I did repalce yaw and roll motor. Yaw arm. Ribbon cable and esc yaw board.the gimbal work well except the yaw got wrong angle. Cannott be center.

I have issue with Gimbal control Board. I have 3 I have bought from various sources and they all do the same thing, that is when I connect the camera, i get video signal but no control to move the camera. I know the camera is a good camera with good ribbon becasue i removed it from a fully functioning Mavic. So issue definetely with Gimbal control Board. I assume, these cannot all be faulty with the same problem. I have read elsewhere that these boards need to be programmed by DJI, does anyone know if this is true or not. If yes, does anyone have the software for this. Thanks

@@frogtechtips No, nothing particular. It just came out of nowhere. I had some crashes months before the first incident with the gimbal motor overload message. I bought a new cable on Amazon and replaced it. It worked for one flight. Then a month later I tried a new ribbon cable. Same problem appears after one flight. After starting the drone, the gimbal moves erratically and gets hot super fast. It's so hot after 10 seconds you can barely touch it.

Hi i hadn’t use my drone for awhile and after turning it back on I wasn’t able to fly it. I had a gimbal motor overload and I order the flex cable from your description and after replacing it. I now have Gimbal Gyroscope Error, Forward Left Vision, forward right vision, Vision System Error Hardware Malfunction contact Dji Support. What should I do now?
@@Andymtran408 When I tried to fox it myself it always went back to the gimbal motor overload and when I brought it to an official repair shop, it worked. So find someone close to you who repairs drones.
No acid free glue/sealer/silicon on the plugs....
