    Hi
This video is focused not on the overall car ecus, it's focused on the Auto Roof.
It also explains how to initialise the flap sensors, which when failing, prevents the roof from open, close or both.
I do apologise for my contradiction(if you noticed it...), when explaining the open and close sensor, I got my self confused. lol
    Hope you enjoy the video.
Like always, thank you for watching!

Perfect, worked perfectly for mine after replacing the flap motor. The test routine only works once the test programme is started. It wasn't quite as I expected with different functions working in between like locking unlocking and some moves taking longer than others. But one open and one closing sequence worked. Codes as the video and all good!

You may want to remove the flap servos and give them a good clean first. They are notorious for grease migrating from the gears to the electronics and causing an implausible signal. Typical fault codes for this are 02000, 03246 and 03247. Removing and cleaning the flap servo's is very easy to do. If you do this as a preventative measure before the top starts to act up, you won't have to perform an Adaptation. But if you get a fault, then you will need a VCDS to do it. Unfortunately the OBD-dongle devices don't have this Adaptation feature. You can read more about it here - www.ttforum.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=1786641

I purchased the Ross-Tech VCDS unit described in the Video. About $200, but WAY less than a visit to my local Audi dealer. Followed along with the description in the Video and the roof now works! The only thing not described in the video is "cycle through the roof" means push or pull on the normal roof electric switch in the car. I think a cycle is probably returning it all the way to where you started (either open or closed). Saved me $$ and the time/hassle of dropping ti off at the Dealer - where in the past they replaced the sensor for about $1000 worth of work. Hopefully it last another few years before I need to initialize again!

Thanks for this useful video. One thing I hadn't figured out and which sorted my hood not raising was the position of the screw on top of the hydraulic pump. For me, this needed to be turned fully clockwise until I could turn it no further. The hood then started going up and down :) Did not find anywhere mentioned that the screw must be turned until it stops turning.

Possibly... never came across that issue...

This is great info! The top on my 2008 TT stopped working after I went over a bump while I was operating the top - do you happen to know how to access the mechanical bits of the roof, or know where I can find that information? Besides the expense of taking it to the dealer, the nearest dealer is about 90 miles away! Either way, thanks for posting this video.

Hi, my TT hood is stuck down and won’t come up? You say go through a full cycle, but I can’t because it won’t come up.
The windows drop and the flaps come up. But then nothing. Will the adaptation cycle bring the hood up?
    Any help is much appreciated.

      Hi
It worth a try... do you have any fault codes?
      Thank you for watching!

LM Auto Repairs Hi unfortunately I reset them but there was ones for the flaps, intermittent signal or something.
Is the adaptation meant to cycle the roof through automatically? Or will I have to go through manually raising it?
      Which I’m unsure about.

      Hi
Remember that if you have faults that are critical to the system, you need to resolve them first...

Hi thanks for your advice, ;)
So basically I’ve been to audi and they have kindly manually put my hood back up.
However I have rescanned it with VCDS and it says that there is an implausible signal on left hand flap.
I’m now not sure wether to attempt the initialisation.
When you say a full cycle, is that just down, would the hood automatically come up with it as well?

If you have a fault in the module it might not going to work anyway.... I would look at that fault first...

In that case, you should be able to get a second hand one, and swap the eeprom or processor, (depends where the info is stored), from your actually cluster, and no coding will be necessary....
      Hope that helps....

      Hi
I have only done this a couple of times... so not really sure what is the cause, perhaps the motors and linkages getting worn, causing play and the position issues...
      Never really investigated that far...

ALL LINKAGES REPLACED AS WELL AS THE MOTORS AND STILL HAVE NOT FOUND THE ANSWER...WORKINK AT THE DEALER FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS ........ONE OF THE TT S I WAS ABLE TO TRACE IT UP TO A FAULTY BATTERY.
