It's hard if you are a recipient because if you need vital organs that you're praying for someone has to die... The mother did a selfless act of kindness by allowing his organs to help others
It's a blessing and, for the lack of a better term, a curse. Knowing that a family had to lose someone so my family could keep someone. (heart recepint 2003)
Wrong. Face transplant is a novelty NOT a life saving operation so doesn't count as organ donation. OF COURSE it was up to her to decide, as his mother !
The mother was an absolute sweetheart for donating her beautiful son to save all these people’s lives, Pat looks Great, he really looks good, good bless them all !!!
a single mother losing her only son is just gut wrenching, then dealing with cancer. This woman's bravery and thoughtfulness to share her sons health with others who are suffering is remarkable and when she broke down at his memorial her pain was so real I just burst into hard tears. Organ donation should be a no brainer and to me is an incentive to take care of my body.
a patients loss hurts the doctors financially, lawfully, emotionally, in all ways. I mean, that if a 28 male were to get severely hurt in a car crash, all and any doctors would do everything in their being to save the families receiving the words "i am sorry for your loss". theres no way a death ever benefits a doctor, and after being in school for over a decade they love thier job and the people they save. having to save a life is the best feeling. not only is what you think against the law but also ive never met a fellow doctor who has checked to see if somones a donor before you act for anything to save a life. please, please consider to become a donor, if you value your life so immensly (which you should), think about someone almost dying thinking the same thing, a child, a old family, a newlywed couple, a teen in college, a fresh highschool grad, a kid who just hid their double digits. those are only some of the people you could save out of millions of options. no family, friend, stranger or doctor would let you die without trying. your "statistics" are unfortunate fate and loss, no intention. please be a donor and not only safe mulipule lifes but start them, renew them and give hope.
How incredibly selfless. I bet meeting the recipients was somewhat healing for her. She has a beautiful spirit. I lost it when she started crying at her son’s bike memorial. God bless you, Nancy. 🙏🏾❤️
Dave sure had a lovely face, Pat was so lucky to receive it. I didn't used to be an organ donor, but as a universal donor, I find it my responsibility. I'm not going to need my body when I'm no longer in it...if I can help someone else live,so be it!
Thank you to all the doctors who are able to do these things, when we were all out having fun and you were studying for years . Thank you to the doners who make heartbreaking decisions at awful times.
I am a recipient of cadaver transplant tissue. I’ve not met my donor family. I’d like to, but they want to remain anonymous. I think about my donor and her family.

Wow, the pain Pat mustve endured from the burns and the pain of constriction in his whole body afterwards. Once you burn that deep it feels like youre still on fire for so long and once you finally start healing its like you petrify. The least he deserves is to feel slighlty normal in appearance. Dave was so vibrant and beautiful, rest in peace Angel.
This was playing on when I entered into one of my patient's room and it touched my spirit that it almost brought me into tears. I rewatched this story at home and the tears came. This was a truly touching story. To Nancy Mallar, if you cone across my comment to your sons story...Sending you a big hug for the passing of your son and for the joy that you had to feel in seeing all the lives that your son is now living in.
I'm an organ donor but I'm poor so I would probably never be offered an organ in return if I needed it . I'm still a donor. But I find it interesting to think about how many people received organs who are not donors themselves. If I die and they can use my organs why wouldn't I let them? They are no use to me. I'm not sure why this mentality isn't shared. Even if I believe no one would help me. Two wrongs don't make a right.
@@sharonbaker2775 it doesn't work that way. I work for a medical company as well as insurances and medicare is SHIT. They dont care if people die. Its a business, death brings in revenue so they can care less unless you got the $ to throw up front.
