- When Joe DiMeo was just 19 years old, he was involved in a horrific car accident which changed his life forever. After suffering third degree burns to 80% of his body, he later underwent pioneering transplant surgery where he received new hands and a new face. The 24-year-old now has the hands and face of a donor, which have enabled him to start living his life again, and even helped him find love. Joe joins us with his girlfriend Jessica today to tell us his extraordinary story of survival, and his hopes that his success will help other burn victims around the world.

I've watched 2 or 3 of these so-called 'face plants'. Is another person's face removed and connected to the injured party. So where does that leave the donor?
The donor is from a cadaver ( a deceased donor ) incredibley alturistic donation from the deceased person & from the family who has lost a loved one.
Why is so swollen
If this is 2 years later, it looks worse than before.

What they've given him is not nice ...
Surgeons need to ask themselves what more can they do .
It's harsh questions but unless asked then that's the best they can do and that's not on
she knows what she is doing, if it wasn't for him coming from loads of money, she wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole.

He needs a cosmetic surgeon to help him get the harmony back in his asthetics .the surgeons didnt do a good job

What? They did a terrific job actually. The donor face isn’t a slim face, over the years the swelling comes down very slowly. And he can have surgeries later should he want them but I’d say he looks fine.
