I have a 2002 escape and this is not where the water pump is. Mine is located on the other side of the motor at the top.

I feel like this is a 2.0, 4 cylinder. I have 04 with V6 and mine is located on driver side, with its own belt.

I usually replace where the leak is found. My 2001 is next to the battery where the serpentine belt us.
