    Thank you for this. Beware do not use big zip ties they will cut the belt. I learned this the hard way. Use the size the guy does and you'll have no problem. Saved me 860 dollars.

    Other videos have you removing the cam pull, but it's completely unnecessary so thanks you. BUT the best take away from your video is the zip tie trick for putting the belt back on... That was awesome!

      For your vehicle yes....but kind of unfortunately, they they made a few different styles with the same year. Mine, I have to pull the cam pulley, because it covers the power steering bolt access.

    Excellent video. I was getting so annoyed seeing people pulling the cam pulley to do this job. Props to you for doing most of this one handed too lol. And you gave me a reason to go buy a new tool “see honey, he says I need that spring clamp tool to fix your car”.

    How about the thermostat? Would it not be a good idea to change it when you replace the pump?

    Thanks for posting this. I'm curious if you happen to remember the mileage you got out of yours? I have one with 110k where it's starting to squeak pretty good, and looks like some movement happening off that cam shaft pulley but was confirming more about it. My belt is super dirty so going to clean it up and check the condition more but probably just time anyways.

    i know this is old, but did you have to drain the coolant from the radiator first? or simply keeping the hose up so the coolant would not flow out.

    Just found a 2002 going cheap using water they say possible cracked head. Perhaps its something simple like this but I'm not sure if there's water in the oil it's too far away for a quick check over

    replacement of Water Pump went smoothly; but antifreeze empties from system as soon as I start engine up; in frustration, I call a mechanic I know (& use) at that point to see what is happening; he replies that the new pump must be defective; I can't see exactly where the antifreeze is leaking from, but it appears it's coming from directly behind or below the new pump; I noticed that there is a weep hole in pump housing directly above the lower right bolt; he replied that the fluid will escape through this weep hole if the pump is defective; I am taking the pump back to exchange it, but can you explain how the fluid will flow through that weep hole; I am confused on how that happens ( & frustrated that I have to do this replacement again;)

    My daughter is having this done at Firestone, they say they can't refuse coolant and she needs to also get a system flush as a result of this repair and a oil change....... is this true? PLEASE PLEASE HELP! 🙏

    • @scout13fox
      @scout13fox Рік тому

      I know this is already a couple of months past, but you absolutely should perform an oil change after completing this repair. This is especially true when you don't know how hot it got or how long the engine was hot. It usually "cooks" some of the oil. Consider it a cheap oil change since it's already in the shop and you won't have to make a separate trip later. The warranty on the water pump "requires" the coolant flush and refill with new. DIY people don't often do it, but should.

    • @crazysexycool180
      @crazysexycool180  8 місяців тому

      new coolant yes oil change is not required for this job.
