Pretty sure you don't need to modernize "If someone told you to jump off a cliff, would you do it?". Everyone understands what that means, it doesn't matter what year it is.
Honestly yeah, Dr. Charles made a good decision here, instead of a vote on a high likelihood of death, he makes a vote on certain death. The fans don't care about him and think it's funny, and he needed to realize that. Anything like this would need a clause that the vote cannot be anything that poses immediate potential death on the person or breaks any laws. I mean if they liked the show then they wouldn't vote for him to jump because he'd die and whoops, no more show. No more merch. No more fun. They just wanted him to suffer. That's the kind of people the website would attract anyway, someone who wants to force him to do horrible stuff. And to be honest, (I don't know about chicago specifically though) you can be put in jail for manslaughter if you tell someone to kill themself or help them find ways of doing it. But what happened afterwards was real and devastating. Something we should focus on instead. How the internet took her death and made fanart of it, FNF mods, music videos ECTECT... It was disgusting. And inappropriate.
Honestly, I am okay with him using the concept of him using his followers to vote for whatever he do, but if I was a follower I wanted him to take the surgery. It is simply immoral to risk people's lives for their own amusement. When I saw the result for yes for his to jump off the building, I ask, do they really want an innocent person to die? Or torture a person, who is innocent. In this video, it's not the fault of the stupidity of the influencer, but the immorality of the audience. I apologised who feels offended by this.
No you're completely right, the world has become a terrible place that encourages people to hate others and behave in immoral ways. I mean the website would attract an overwhelming majority of people who want him to suffer by the nature of the website, given they can make him do anything, but even so he was only doing what he felt would be his best bet. He was so fixated on losing his better life that he didn't truly realize he was risking almost certain death, (which is why Charles used a guarunteed death as an example vote). Despite the risk, he was worried that if he did the surgery he would end up poor again, and that clouded his judgement. Absolutely the issue is with how the world is completely forgetting what empathy is. It doesn't help either that there are a lot of psychopaths and sociopaths who lack empathy just in general and don't care about him dying, and that would be among the terrible people who would be attracted to the website.
I would think the surgery vote was more immoral and unrealistic because that was serious stuff with a doctor telling the patient what he should do(and therefore telling the chat as well). Jumping over the building because of their votes is just so out there and few if anybody would take that seriously... If I was in that chat I would vote yes on jumping off the roof just because there is no way they do it, and vote for the surgery because that is serious and life and death stuff, and a doctor is clearly telling and warning what should be done. And I agree, the audience is not blame-free. But if that man died because he decided to listen to votes from a bunch of strangers that he has never met. Then it's really on him and his girlfriend.
I remember watching the Truman Show and being scared to death about it becoming reality. A bunch of strangers deciding that you should live and die for their amusement...We are living that movie
Not everyone nowadays is a psychotic media influencer who feels they have to cater to their fans over every life decision they make yknow. Normal people still exist
@@nipunkothare there would be when it comes to the media. But patients themselves have the right to film whatever they want. For their own treatment - they can’t barge into someone else’s cubicle and start filming them.
Like a lot of Chicago med vids, this could have been prevented if he had just a little sense, took a hiatus and did the surgery off camera and just covered it up like his camera broke and the new one took too long to come
After viewing many of these clips I believe the Hippocratic Oath revolves around the patient not that voters. Simply put those voters aren't exactly family. So another words you could take that camera and photo machine out of the hospital

This is why it’s important to have a real job. You don’t have to rely heavily on other people like your viewers or subs. I’m all for social media as part time or extra but a full time job? No.
Yeah, because a "real job" is more reliable. I'm working for a company which was doing great until a few years ago and now we're all worried for our jobs. Anyone at anytime can lose their job, it pretty much doesnt matter where they work and everyone at least partly relies on other people. If someone loves having a UA-cam channel or blog or whatever and makes enough money, I'd say go for it. Do what you love. It's no different from other people who work in the entertainment industry and rely on people not losing interest. If it doesn't work out anymore, you can still look for a new job, you may have to do that at some point in your life anyway.
@@monomis7infinite840 Good luck with finding a company that you know will be successful until it's time for you to retire 🙄 I do have what is considered a good job that is well paid, but you have no control over the economic situation or the decisions the management makes.

And some people don't even have that much to prepare for those test and last but not the least how some people pay black money to get govt. jobs. And, most of the govt. job don't even pay you well. At the end we relay on others.
Ok, but I'm glad they found a way to do these stuff differently. Usually influencers in movies/shows are some kind of stupid, full of themselves teenagers desperate for likes and fame. This dude just wanted to live a decent life with his girlfriend and made it clear he doesn't want to disrespect anybody.
What happened after that? Like Aviva was still trying to save the channel instead of worrying how their followers basically wanted him to commit suicide!
Bro I know this is all made up and stuff but like wtf.... People actually voted for him to suicide and unfollwed after he refused??? Like that's the most messed up thing I've seen
The followers aren't messed up. This is just fun for them. They're not really expecting him to jump. No sane person would do that. That guy and girl are the messed up ones.
This was a particularly clever move by Dr Charles because if he went against the vote and said no, they could persuade him to do the surgery. If he went with the vote and agreed to jump, we'd be back to what Dr Charles was talking about before - a risk to himself, at which point the hospital can forcibly step in. Either way, they get the surgery done
Lol at 0:13 when you pause & read the chats just as Dr Choi first appears on their show, one chat says “okay everyone who said he was hot is right” then another “dr c’s very dreamy” and one after that saying “yeah what’s dr Choi’s first name???” hahaha some funny chats in this I paused to read them, they are pretty funny and surprisingly accurate for something like this going down, just not enough meme references or swearing hahaha.
When I heard the doctor ask the boy to jump off the roof, I thought his followers would eventually regain their composure. Unfortunately, when they started persuading him to jump, I gave up hope. I mean, how stupid and brainless you can be to get someone to commit suicide? If they were his real fans, if they really cared about it, they would NEVER do something like this. There is also something definitely wrong with his girlfriend. I mean, how can you be concerned about some stupid internet channel / profile more than your own boyfriend? How can *Anything* be more important! He was so sick, he might even die, and she refused to give him support in a difficult situation for a moment! She was always on the step of that camera, that fucking selfie stick of hers! Everyone here, everyone (except Dr. Choi and the other doctor) acted like they didn't have their own minds! Just like fully programmed robots!
This would have worked both ways for the hospital, it played out that the guy decided to go against the vote for jumping and to get the surgery, but if he'd chosen to jump he would have been taken by the psychs before he could hurt himself and forced to have the surgery, so Hansen was very clever here
It's really sad, he just want to be sincere to his fans and really appreciates them for helping him but some fans are just bad people. Just because you are helping someone it doesn't give you right to abuse them or harass them or make them your puppet. But these kind of fans think that they now own the creator life. Disgusting.
"If i don't obey, it's over?" Well, if you die just because some strangers voted you not to have a surgery that could save your live, then it's over just the same for your live streaming. The only difference is, if you die, there's no chance for you to have a better life than doing some stupid live streaming with stupid rules. Geez, this is just as scary as Two Face's coin toss maybe worse with real people makes the decision which can be stupid or cruel.
I just read about an American "influencer" that on purpose crashed his plane for views and risks 20 years in prison for it... my mind instantly thought of this clip. Some people just... wtf?!?!?
This touches a very important subject, and it is anonymity disinhibition, the people voting for him to die want to watch him suffer and show no restraint in claiming so in the chat because no one knows who they are, they are anonymous, when maybe in real life they would say otherwise with the anonymity they have no restraint. Of course, it isn't everyone since many stick to their morals no matter who is watching or if someone knows who they are, but for those who voted to make him suffer did it out of the comfort and safety of anonymity that ensured they wouldn't have to face consequences for their actions, pretty cool honestly
this is just so stupid, why let strangers make the choice for you when your life is literally in danger..the things people do for clout is unbelievable.
If I were Dr choi I would break the camera and be like "oops I'm sorry" 😂 just watching this makes me stressed!

U must be new to internet
@@TheMartuksxxxx not exactly, but I just hate people like these. I will get over emotional sometimes or all the time
I would think the surgery vote was more immoral and unrealistic because that was serious stuff with a doctor telling the patient what he should do(and therefore telling the chat as well).
Yeah, me too. What kind of morons would say no to surgery. That is so twisted!
wow, Dr Charles is a genius
who lets someone film in a hospital??
Well, after my sister pregnancy I was allow to bring a camera to film my niece and my sister.
@@BlackCatFilmProductions a child’s birth is totally different
@@missmandy9726 Also my friend is in hospital and give me daily posts on Facebook on her progress.
Lol literally this hole show.
Btw this is a joke comment
I remember watching the Truman Show and being scared to death about it becoming reality. A bunch of strangers deciding that you should live and die for their amusement...We are living that movie
Not everyone nowadays is a psychotic media influencer who feels they have to cater to their fans over every life decision they make yknow. Normal people still exist
The fact that this could happen in real life scares me. There are so many crazy people
Very accurately portrayed the pathetic lust of influencers for followers.
Why is it lust?
I think it also reflects the sometimes sadistic and petty nature of followers.
@@thegameranch5935 because they get off on it. The definition of lust.
It’s pretty pathetic. But it’s definitely real. 😞
@@dmf1301 isn’t lust something sexual?
@@thegameranch5935 you think you're smart. But you're actually not.
What's scary is this happens in real life. There are evil people out there who enjoys this kind of thing. They're murderers but think it's not murder.
Lo!
I'm pretty sure that's illegal somehow? Like a breach of patient privacy?
He shared it on his own.
There has to be hospital rules on shooting videos
@@nipunkothare there would be when it comes to the media.
But patients themselves have the right to film whatever they want.
For their own treatment - they can’t barge into someone else’s cubicle and start filming them.
most unrealistic thing is a gopro camera battery lasting that long honestly
This felt like an episode of Black Mirror, indeed a dark reflection of the impact of modern technology.
Dr Choi : Page Dr Charles!😡😡
Dr Charles : How you doing? 👋 🌈😇 I'm Dr Charles 🥰❤🌈
Like a lot of Chicago med vids, this could have been prevented if he had just a little sense, took a hiatus and did the surgery off camera and just covered it up like his camera broke and the new one took too long to come
Dr Charles took wat our mom's always tell us literally.. 😂😂😂
Dr. Charles is ruthlessly brilliant.
I'd pay to get him as a friend
After viewing many of these clips I believe the Hippocratic Oath revolves around the patient not that voters. Simply put those voters aren't exactly family. So another words you could take that camera and photo machine out of the hospital
I'm sure most "fans" are actually just kids with their parent's money and with no sense of repercussions.
Also, someone mentioned that dr. house had a similar episode? Does anyone know if it's on youtube? I'd like to see house's reaction
Yes except that House literally blackmailed the patient emotionally and insulted her and her viewers's IQ.
It's legit how the world will look in 10 years if we don't stop excessively use social media.
@@Eldyra @Jelly T get a govt job then you don't have to worry about anything

And some people don't even have that much to prepare for those test and last but not the least how some people pay black money to get govt. jobs. And, most of the govt. job don't even pay you well. At the end we relay on others.
This is so cringe and sad at the same time
In the country I live in, you can't have a camera in a doctor's face like that
And if they tell you leave the room you better leave
Ok, but I'm glad they found a way to do these stuff differently. Usually influencers in movies/shows are some kind of stupid, full of themselves teenagers desperate for likes and fame. This dude just wanted to live a decent life with his girlfriend and made it clear he doesn't want to disrespect anybody.
Great doctor's,really used his own medicine to show him the reality
This is the best show I have ever watched thank you
What happened after that? Like Aviva was still trying to save the channel instead of worrying how their followers basically wanted him to commit suicide!
I had thought I'd do that but wasn't sure I could, good thing Dr Charles showed us we can actually challange our patients like that
Bro I know this is all made up and stuff but like wtf.... People actually voted for him to suicide and unfollwed after he refused???
Like that's the most messed up thing I've seen
The followers aren't messed up. This is just fun for them. They're not really expecting him to jump. No sane person would do that. That guy and girl are the messed up ones.
@@iagreewithyou3478 no
It’s both
Sane people don’t joke like that if there’s a chance harm is an actual real consequence
This just proves how bad some people are... my god the "YES" is killing me. 😱
LMAO REAS THE COMMENTS FROM THE LIVESTEAM HAVE ME DEAD “is that the same hospital after the naked skydiving?”
I like how the chat isnt the same recycled garbage over and over and actually lines up with whats happening in the scene.
I would totally lose my patience if i was a doctor in this scenario
Dr Choi is so 🥰

@@elliotmay7571 not really. This is an outrageous 20,000% exaggeration.

The chat is filled with sick, perverted, psychopaths. How disgusting
I would like to see a Twitch stream like this happen one day, that would be lit af, lol.😂😂 the writes did a mad and funny job writing this show.😂😂
I wanna be like Dr Charles. What a champ.
If i was there i would have straight-up grabbed that camera and throw it out of the room personally
This is why social media is stupid
Haven't literally 3 - 4 medical shows had this exact plot for an episode?
And this is why I don't care what people think. They'll make you do anything for a cheap thrill.
Why do I feel this is going to become a real case in like a week or so
I think in reality the stream would have probably been shut down by the site.
Why are cameras allowed in a hospital?
4:58 "THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT"
his gf is getting on my nerves
Yeah bro
Wait no let me cast a vote to see if she’s getting on ur nerves 🤗
Can he please dump the girl after he recovers
It's sad that there are people in the world that's like this
This would have worked both ways for the hospital, it played out that the guy decided to go against the vote for jumping and to get the surgery, but if he'd chosen to jump he would have been taken by the psychs before he could hurt himself and forced to have the surgery, so Hansen was very clever here
Sad but true a lot of people will follow drama and negativity if only to dull the pain of there own.
I've had my Appendix removed I would rather my the surgery than risking my life
props to the people who wrote those comments, must be hundreds of thousands
If I was Dr Choi, I would have said "I do not consent to this."
Man, and I thought Tiktok was bad
It's really sad, he just want to be sincere to his fans and really appreciates them for helping him but some fans are just bad people. Just because you are helping someone it doesn't give you right to abuse them or harass them or make them your puppet. But these kind of fans think that they now own the creator life. Disgusting.
You’re a very wise mediator Sir
Favorite moments when Dr. Charles makes those big flashy demonstrations. Some people NEED the wake up call, jeez
this is just so stupid, why let strangers make the choice for you when your life is literally in danger..the things people do for clout is unbelievable.
I have only watched the odd clip of this series as I can't get it on my cable, is it always as tense as this in their episodes ? 😮
People like that are so sickening🙄🙄
isn't there a law that will criminalise those who urged him to jump?
Probably
In what way is this guy influencing people
Reading the live chats so fun lol
