Thanks for taking us along on the journey. Your 420 is lovely, and they are a real joy - we had the Daimler Sovereign version, Regency Red with beige hide. I loved that car.
That's a rare car in LHD. My dad owned one, the Daimler Sovereign version, for 13 years and it took us all over Europe on family camping trips, so my memories are plenty of the car.
Ah, the Daimler version is spectacular. The 420's left in good shape are few because they only made them for 2 years, but quite a few of them are indeed left hand drive. A lot of those shipped to the US.
Thanks for a terrific movie and road-trip. In 1997 I travelled from Gettysburg PA to Charlotte NC in search of my Corvair which I bought and had for almost 25 years. Last year we sold it and now have a Jaguar 420…! Currently fixing a few things and hope to be driving it soon. Greetings from The Netherlands and take care.
How wonderful to discover this awesome clip guys! I’ve watched your gorgeous Bentley T road trip numerous times, (& loved it) but never realised you had a beautiful old Jag too! Ironically (& very happily!) I have just purchased a stunning ‘65 S Type 3.8 ltr V8, that’s just completed a ground up restoration here in Australia & she is utterly breathtaking! I would LOVE it if you’d consider creating another (& longer) road trip video like the one you did in your beautiful Bentley! I know many others would too! Thanks for sharing & inspiring guys! 👍😎
I had the same car in BRG and lived in South Carolina until we retired to Ecuador 10 years ago. The car was a well sorted original and was a superb touring sedan and we visited Charleston frequently. Thanks for the video
Beautifull car to do a road trip in , 420s are very underated , my uncle had one in 70s and I had one in the 2000's both were same colour as yours , thanks for sharing
@@KasparArnault It is a gorgeous colour. What is it? The closest I can think of is Opalescent Dark blue but the versions I've seen are much lighter than this.
Splendid just Splendid and greetings from the UK- about 50 miles from Coventry . As a MK2 , E-Type and others owner - there is nothing like a good road trip in a Jaguar.
I really enjoy your little films. Forty years ago I drove from N.O. to Philladephia with a friend who lived over there. Seeing your road trip reminded me of that. I really like the style and edit. Your easy going attitude is a joy to watch. Your cars are the cars of my childhood here in England. Keep up the good work. More please!
Hi Kasper, greetings and happy new year from downunder. Being currently in the process of looking for an older jag to accompany by 196k mile 2004 xj8, I've realised how I'd always overlooked the 420, but they're absolute gems, and your videos about them are the pick of the bunch! The dark blue paint with cww looks stunning. And I love the production quality of the vid, the serious yet humorous style of narration, and of course the canine being pampered on the road trip 😀. Selling the idea of a second jag to my lovely wife may be a hard sell (particularly given our little dog loves the rear air vents in the xj8), but I think her seeing your dog happy in a 420 might get her across the line... I presume that if the canine isn't bossing the middle of the front bench, she'd still get decent air circulation in the back through the quarter lights? Anyway, totally love your work and keep it coming! Regards Michael
Oh yes it's so cute , our dogs love the rear window vents...gets alot of attention from passing motorists cause you just don't see window vents like that.
Thanks so much for the commentary! The best thing about any car is motoring with your family and even better with a four legged friend! Best wishes to you on your adventures.
You look like Sean Connery behind the wheel of that car. Great video. It takes a sense of adventure to undertake such a roadtrip in a vintage car. Please share more. Thank you.
America is a beautiful country, but vast. Sadly many Americans don't get enough paid leave to explore it. In Europe we get loads of paid holidays, sadly, that means your more likely to see us at these awesome sights, than American tourists. AMERICA, set your people free!
Very true. For many years I worked crazy hours and had no time to do anything. We are retired now and have some time to explore, and this is a bit of a hobby for us, seeing the interesting places not to far away.
Greetings from Ferntree Gully Australia 🇦🇺..I have a question. Does your clock work ? I have one of these you can't get the original battery, maybe cause the mercury .I've heard you can get the same size but with slightly higher voltage.
Lovely video and lovely car. Is the rev counter accurate? If so it is very low geared. I always felt the 420 was low geared in UK spec but in US/Canada spec it seems even lower geared. The 4.2 never seemed happy at higher revs compared with the other jag engines. My 3.4 Mk2 would be well over 100mph at those revs and has a higher red line. Lovely interior and handling on the 420 though. And yours looks a sweet example.
Thank you. I can't vouch 100% for it's accuracy, but it does feel geared low. One of the drawbacks. Just replaced speedo so at least I know that is right.
Might be worth checking the rev counter - I have heard they can read high. In any event it is low geared. I know some folks put modern overdrive auto boxes in. Those 3 speed autos go back to the days before european motorways with sustained 100 mph plus cruising.
Thanks for watching this. It is encouraging for me to know someone out there is interested. I do still own the Bentley T. These are our 2 babies. The Bentley is certainly more comfortable on a long trip, but this one does OK, too.
Beautiful car. Please have your dog in a harness that attaches to the seat belt. My miniature Schnauzer sits in my front passenger seat in his seat belt and it’s saved him a few times when I’ve had to brake suddenly due to someone doing the wrong thing on the road.
You did it in style. What a lovely car.
I appreciate that. I am glad you enjoyed it.
So loved this road trip video. With your dog road trip is complete
So beautiful!
Thanks for taking us along on the journey. Your 420 is lovely, and they are a real joy - we had the Daimler Sovereign version, Regency Red with beige hide. I loved that car.
Also a lovely car! Thanks for watching!
Amazing car. Thanks for posting.
Thank you so much!
The right music with the right car one of Jaguars' best designs, just great.
Dynomite video of a timeless motorcar & great PHL to Charleston SC trip! Thanks for sharing this jaguar 420 travelogue & 67 time machine!
Thank you for watching!
Looking forward to seeing a longer film about this journey!

Ah, I'm glad this may have brought back some memories.
My father had one the same in old English white in late 60s
Another lovely roadtrip video, loving it. And yes, Charleston is an amazing city. Greetings from Germany
Thank you. Greetings from across the pond.

Thanks for watching this. I agree. They are nice little cars. And to me, quite beautiful.
@@KasparArnault It is a gorgeous colour. What is it? The closest I can think of is Opalescent Dark blue but the versions I've seen are much lighter than this.
@@mikekennedy9383 Thanks. Just called "dark blue." But it looks almost black in certain light.

It’s all about the Jaguar, my favourite is the S-Type but this 420 looks very nice… enjoy..👍💯🥇🏆
Thank you!
Nice car! Perfect for smooth driving on local roads. I had a 3.8S, the predecessor of the 420, so recognise that lovely rear end anywhere.

Ha ha, I hardly look like Sean Connery behind the wheel, but I do FEEL like him when we go driving in this car! Thanks for watching.
A thing of beauty is a JOY FOREVER
Beautiful car, when I was young, I always dreamt of owning a black Jaguar 420. Still I did not owe one yet.
Wonderful trip in a wonderful car.
Love the old Jags!
Nice trip and nice car. Greetings from Italy!🙂
Thank you!
Ha this with red upholstery in 1972 til 74. It was a dream!!!

What a great car.
Are we there...already?
People with taste are few; wonderful car by the way
Thank you for the kind words.
Car is so cool
Good to see you keeping the British end up Kasper. Bentley T still in the garage?
Yes, both still going strong.
Greetings from Ferntree Gully Australia 🇦🇺..I have a question. Does your clock work ? I have one of these you can't get the original battery, maybe cause the mercury .I've heard you can get the same size but with slightly higher voltage.
Unfortunately the clock does not work. With so many other things to attend to I haven't looked into that. But I know there are people who repair them!
❤️

Plus lovely car, especially with the CWWs. Do you still own the Bentleys?
Thanks for watching this. It is encouraging for me to know someone out there is interested. I do still own the Bentley T. These are our 2 babies. The Bentley is certainly more comfortable on a long trip, but this one does OK, too.
Quelle beauté cette jaguar !
Merci🙂
Great video. Music a little bit loud.
Lovely film as ever …. But do you still have the T 1 ?!
Yes. These 2 cars are our babies, I suppose. We alternate driving them.
Super collection …. Very ‘Thomas Crown’ !! Definitely cuts a dash!
made in england ✌️✌️🇬🇧🇬🇧🚗🚗
Great but your music is too loud
Beautiful car. Please have your dog in a harness that attaches to the seat belt. My miniature Schnauzer sits in my front passenger seat in his seat belt and it’s saved him a few times when I’ve had to brake suddenly due to someone doing the wrong thing on the road.
This is a very wise suggestion.
Jaguar named a car after marijuana? That is ever so cool!
😂
So funny to see the the "typical English" speedo🤣
У меня такой же в гараже стоит пылиться
