I first got my period when I was 13 and I was put on the pill at 14. So I'ven been on birth control for pretty much all my menstrual life, until I finally stopped taking it this year, at 27. It feels like I'm going through puberty for the first time in my life. I'm dealing with all these symptoms for the first time, so these kinds of videos are so helpful in knowing what's normal, and what I can do to better understand my body and be in tune with it.

This is really similar to what my nutritionist tells me, just with different words
Taking care of the food I eat, it has helped me a lot in so many levels, especially with hormones

Thank you for having these discussions. I find Asian traditional medicine very fascinating especially since I myself herald from east Africa and we also have our own set of traditional medicine. When it comes to women's reproductive and overall health, I prefer traditional alternatives over modern medicine due to gender bias. Please keep making these talks because they are really important to educate everyone not least women and girls. 👍

I've been keeping a skincare journal & tracking it based on where I am in my cycle for a few years now - it's made a HUGE difference knowing exactly where I am in my cycle at all times.... seems to reason to do that with other aspects of my life too 🤔

Loved this video! It was so insightful. The concept of bio hacking to align with your body’s energy/ phase in the cycle is so smart. The more we understand our bodies the more empowered we are in our daily lives. Something that should really be taught in schools for all the young ladies.

Ive had the really cystic acne since I started having periods at around 12 years old. I was thrown in birth control and I hated it so much I took myself off it. My derm tried spiro but I hated how I felt on that too. Then she tried Accutane. Infinitely better. Accutane was the best thing and it bought me 2 years of clear skin. Then it came back in full force and a different derm is wanting me to do spiro again. But I was irregular so often in my life and now I can time my period nearly to the day. When you can finally get to that point, you don’t want to have the side effect of irregular periods. No way.

Like wait i am just waiting for my period to come this month..n i had ONLY pms for like a week?? N just no blood or that sharp pain that i get bfore n when it bleeds. Idk as i got into my 20's my period pain got worse. Like mine only lasts 3 days at the most n the first n second day too sometimes is soooo painful i can't even explain..is this normal was my question since sooo long..the timing i saw this video was so good like I'm expecting the period rn n idk y it's delayed this month tbh since my first period it's not been very irregular it was fine like starting few yrs was like every 2months at tyms but later it got really regular n dese days esp after 20's i noticed it comes everryy month perfectly on tym..just two or three days delayed or early n my acne! I always had acne problems ever since puberty n i still can't find d actual reason y i get it. It's not even during d periods it's acne dat come just during other times too. Anyways thanks so much for this video!!

The past few years I’ve struggled so much with the painful hormonal acne and white heads and the pill almost completely cleared that for me. I don’t really have any side effects from it that i know of and it regulates my period but I want to be able to have these results without the pill. Does anyone have any tips additional to this video? Maybe foods to eat during certain parts of the cycle or what to avoid? Also any tips on that transition period after coming off of it?

Actually pills do not regulate your periods at all and they do not cure anything…I’ve been on pills for about 10 years so I know the deal 🤷🏼‍♀️ I got off from it about 3 years ago and it’s been such a tough journey for me…I’ve been experiencing many side effects and consequences from taking these pills for too long…and btw my pimples came full force back when I stopped taking pills 😂👍🏻what helped me is completely changing my lifestyle and also taking certain vitamins and herbs, but it’s a really slow process and I’ m still recovering and trying to revive my reproductive system 🙏🏻 so it’s your choice to be on this medication or not, because in reality it just creates an “illusion” that it does help…alas it doesn’t and when you stop taking it - everything just comes back, sometimes with more complications than before…good luck and I hope everything works out for you 🙏🏻🌟

My skin needs are quite different at 30, but I just read a wonderful article called "How to Predict Skin Changes During Your Monthly Cycle" on eminenceorganics website. It explains what your hormones are doing when (what days of the cycle) and how those changes will affect your skin! (It matched my personal skin progress to a T as far as when i'm experiencing the described changes).
It might give you some clarity on how to adapt your skincare routine around your skintype and cycle! (It offers some tips on how to combat and boost your skin at different stages of the cycle).
