Great job!👏👏Those modifications make sense and are very well done, that little machine is more capable now. It's growing up, maybe one day it becomes an FF230 😅 Keep up the good work! 👍
Congratulations Volodymyr, excellent mods! Your tutorials are very well done and very helpful! I have done the MF70 table stiffening and now I'm working on FF230 XY-table substitution based mainly on your presentations. My intended mods on MF70/FF230 are various, culminating with -maybe- CNC-ing; but manual operation remains my favorite. I have tried a variable speed belt transmission connected with a new out-runner but lately I have rejected it (or at least postponed) because of increased noise and insufficient reliability -so I'm back to something very similar to yours, using GT2 tooth belt and pulleys. OK noise and torque!
Thanks for doing this video in English! I have 3 questions: 1. What Amp esc did you use? 2. Do you have the drawings of the aluminum extension? 3. What gear do you use on the shaft? Looks like a gt2 36t pulley 6mm belt. And what length belt Links to the parts would be super helpful! Thanks in advance and great video 🤘🏼
Hi, if you feel the need for extra rigidity on the mill (and less vibration), you can try filling aluminum column with epoxi-granite - a method largely presented on various sites - and which I have tried and consider easy enough to be a ++ for MF70.
Just beware if you use it on plastic parts (I have also epoxi-filled the column cap) . Excess/unwanted uncured resin can be cleaned OK with solvent but that can attack plastic/engravings -which happened to me. Careful masking before epoxying can spare your troubles.
welcome back :) . can you write what are the pulleys (how many teeth do they have?) and what is the length of the V-belt? I am at the stage of completing parts to remake my milling machine.
Hey. The current solution is a bit more complex. But in general you could use a set of GT2 pulleys. 20 and 60 teeth. Belt length is 200 teeth. This setup was used for a while by me.
hello. great material. you inspired me to work on my MF70. I will start by replacing the motor and you can handle the ER11. I have a question about the bearings. did you find the same outside diameter of the bearing? Did you have to ream the socket for the new bearing?? Can you write what bearings you used to mount the ER11? I don't know about it at all. I'm counting on your help. Greetings
The bearings is easy to remove just with hummer ))). I did not ream sockets, just found a bearings that fits to mine. There was a different sizes of sockets depends on a production years of MF70. As far as I remember I used something like 19x8mm bearings.
Really good job you have shown, all 10 thumbs up. Where did you find the cross table, I can't really get what you are saying, will you put it in the reply. Mega nice upgrades. Greetings Ivan from Denmark
Perfect Mr. Zhadlun. I inspire from you for some upgrades. Pls. could you share, your opinion about KT230 table ? Because of I can reach approx. 0.03 mm repeat my MF70 with Nema 23 step motor but X & Y axis movements too small for my new hobby. If I buy KT230 for mount Nema23 step motors, can I reach 0.03mm repeat and positioning? I wonder. Thanks
@@zhadlun thank you for the response! would you recommend to spend the time, effort and money on the MF70? or would it be better to start off by buying and converting the bigger and a bit heavier micro mills such as the FF230 ?

This setup is pretty nice. Thanks for sharing this with us.
19:20 cross table is jiggling so hard when operating, that it is visible. lol.

These are brilliant mods m8! Any chance you could post your drawings? Id love to build my mf70 the same way.
More easy to measure all on the machine itself. But if you will need any suggestions during rebuild, please feel free to ask any time.
Добро пожаловать. какой бесщеточный двигатель вы рекомендуете и какой регулятор скорости?

@@zhadlun great, that's what I was after. what turnover did you get?
I have been racing rc for a long time and would pay you to make the conversion plate and the torque modification
Hello. Sorry but I don't think it would be possible.
Proxxon! Expensive plastic, cheap components, high prices!!!

Разогреть и выпрессовать съёмником или выбить

The cross table I bought on amazon
Molto molto bello veramente al top 🔝

Only if you will change leed screws in the table. Table itself is good, but it's con made for cnc.
@@zhadlun Thank you very much for information and quick reply.Your opinion is important for me.How do you think about table bads frictional force. ?
Brilliant job! Do you have a dxf file fot the aluminium plate?
Unfortunately no.
May it be easyer to buy a better stronger mashine.
Do you have the the cad file (or drawing with dimensions) for the KT230 cross table connection adapter plate? would you mind sharing it?
No, at the moment I did not have cad file or drawing

@@davideyt1242 I got a lot of fun with MF70. But now I would buy something bigger... And maybe not a Proxxon.
What power supply did you use?
12 volt power supply from HP server
@@zhadlun thanks for your reply! Any specs on the amps/watts it supplies?
a cnc будешь переделывать ?
No CNC is not now.
Motor = Electric powered Engine= Fossil Fuel or Gas
На русском есть, или хотя бы субтитры?
Не стал брать этот станок лишь только потому, что он в таком виде стоит гораздо дешевле. Очень ненадёжная вещь.
