With the astronomical fares, why are airplanes still so uncomfortable and cramped. Unfortunately consumers have know choice but to deal with it but geesh.

Airlines often have cramped and uncomfortable seating because of a practice called "seat densification," which allows them to fit more passengers on each flight. This maximizes profits by selling more tickets per flight, especially in economy class. To do this, they reduce the legroom (seat pitch), narrow the width of seats, and reduce the recline.
      Other reasons include:
Cost Efficiency: Airlines aim to lower ticket prices by keeping operational costs low, and cramming more passengers into smaller spaces helps maintain profitability.
Fuel Costs: More passengers per flight can help offset high fuel expenses, especially for long-haul flights.
Demand and Competition: Budget airlines are especially known for packing more passengers in, making up for low-cost fares with smaller, less comfortable seating.
Premium economy or business class offers more comfort, but that comes with a much higher price tag.
