"The best teacher of all time, Luke! I've learned so much from you. I used to be really confused before I found your channel, but now you're my only source for learning English. Thank you so much for everything! I’ve even started my own channel, trying to follow in your footsteps, but you’re truly so speical and diffrent,,all love for you❤
I want to say thank you enjoyed listening Sherlock Holmes stories and I hope to continue to get more stories about Sherlock Holmes and thank you Luke❤❤
I am not as clever as Holmes. But I have listened to the entire podcast ! I love listening to stories in English. It’s a great source of inputs. Thanks Luke.
This moment is always our favorite with LEP. Every case is a walk in the park. Nothing is a threat to Sherlock. One clue is all it takes. Solving the mystery is easy breezy.
I have heard of Sherlock Holmes for ages, but this is my first time reading a chapter from the whole series. I got frightened when listening to the part where Holmes was lashing furiously at the bell pull with his cane. I like your final summary that said justice had been done! Especially in such a crazy reality, we wish a just and brave person like Holmes could be the prosecutor. Thank you, Luck! I enjoyed this episode very much!
Luke, to be honest, the episodes like this one - are what the doctor is prescribed. I was so elated to find it today in my UA-cam feed. Thank You from the bottom of my heart! ❤️
Sorry for splitting hairs here (just can't help it😁), but actually the original idiom goes like "just what the doctor ordered". Хотя понимаю , что для русскоязычного человека ваш вариант звучит логичнее). Cheers.
Wow @Luke you are the best! I love your channel❤️ it really helps to improve pronunciation, listening, vocabulary and grammar. What's more it's full of your carisma☺️ I'm already waiting for next episodes! Greetings from BOLIVIA🇧🇴
Hi Luke, my favourite English teacher! I enjoyed this story. I need to listen to it twice for a better understanding... thanks to your explanations. Justice happened immediately, no need to human justice. If we believe in God, we can call it divine justice! I'm from the South of France!
Couldn't stand away from leaving my comment here. Didn't think I'd have enough of patience to listen the whole story and to catch the sence. However, everything was clear as a glass. You are doing a good job mate.
I’m a huge fan of both Mr. Luke Thompson and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Plus the speckled band is one of my favourite Holmes stories. I’ve listened to it four times so far! Would love more Holmes stories please.
Thanks Luke. This story also shows that exact learning English impossible 😂 understanding old language really hard. Your interpretation perfect as well.
You are such a great narrator! Your expression adds more life to my imagination while listening to the story. Even a simple story turns into a great one. It’s not a panegyric It's a fact.
Hi Luke! I must do you justice and say that this episode is incredible! I was so intrigued by the story plot that I couldn't stop listening to the episode till the very end. Thanks!
thank you very much for telling the story so vividly. I really love the episode. this story scared me almost all summer holiday long when I was a child. I stared at the corner of my bedroom in the night when I couldn't sleep😂
I really like your way of telling the story to the audience, it's really comprehensible especially for the person like me who need to work out more on my vocabulary in English. I even recommended your channel to my friends.
Hats off to you! Your podcast is getting better and better. In fact, “it's the best thing since sliced bread.” I got goosebumps during the crime scene, you are such a good actor... Terrific! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks for the episode. I understand that it is important. But for me it is a hundred times more useful to listen and most importantly watch random and live communication
Great story, Luke. Thank you for the reading. I enjoyed every minute of it. The ending was really a surprise for me. I never thought the culpable would be a snake.
Luke, thanks a lot for very inspiring work!❤ Your podcasts have become an inseparable part of my everyday life, I try to start my working day with listening to your very interesting and informative podcasts!! I wish you all the best!
"I understand it may be difficult to understand." Canada, tuning in here from Vancouver Island want you to know I lovelovelove the accent. The way you say speckled is perfection ✅️ 🖖😊
It was a wonderful story! And it was really easy to follow the story because of your explanations❤ You're a great teacher, Luke. Thanks for everything you do!
Hi Luke sir I am trying to learn English language for that I will have to listen a lot English podcasts, movies and any show but I started my journey with you sir! Luke. You would get happiness after listening that I start to understand you accent and you style Thank you sir I am Shreyansh Gautam from India..... ....
Thanks for this story)) I have enjoyed listening to this story from you, Luke)) and I had a double challenge - to reddle the mystery and whole paragraphs of unknown words. Thankful to you, I got it))
I really believe in justice, it’s the very fair solution. I read that story back in my childhood. That definitely helped me listening to it in English. But that key word ‘band’ doesn’t have these two meanings in my language and I guess it was a challenge to translate the story. Thank you Luke!

Your voice is amazing,Luke. The SM7B has made it extremely richer.
I knew how it happened. But I'm not as smart as Sherlock Holmes, I just grew up with those stories about this very smart, elegant and handsome man. Of course, without your help it would be impossible to understand everything. To be honest, and with your help, I didn't understand everything. Thank you very much for this interesting story. I enjoyed from start to finish. You are a great teacher, reader and very interesting person. You successfully do many things like "one man orchestra". And from now on I am no longer a ninja:) Thanks Luke for your help in improving mine and not only mine English. Ruta
Thank you, Luke, for the amazing performance and explanations. By the way, I'd like to mention a couple of discrepancies in Mr. Conan Doyle's story. Snakes can't move down the rope, and it's also strange that the poor young lady couldn't say she was bitten by someone (a human usually feels even a mosquito's touch).
Justice-yes I listened right to the end. The speckled band reminds me of another Sherlock Holmes story called “the copper beeches”, in which justice was also served deservedly without prosecution.
Hello, teacher Luke! It was an amazing story, indeed. I had never read it, but from the very beginning I suspected that the step father had killed the poor girl but I could'nt believe my eyes how he did it. Justice was done, he finally died because of his terrible plan.
The truth usually comes out sooner or later. it was an exciting story. I really liked it. Your presentation was particularly enjoyable! I wish I had found you earlier. Thx Luke :)
