Without your explanation and a summary of the story, I can't understand it because of the old fashion language, which makes it really difficult to comprehend. Thank you Luke.

So now I'm rewatching all seven seasons played by Jeremey Brett, I used to watch the dubbed version when I was in primary school on my small TV. And what makes me even happier now is that I can understand what the characters are saying better.

Hi Luke. Your channel and this video that UA-cam recommended me is one of the best findings on the Internet for a long time. After ten minutes of watching I have recommended it to my students. Because you read the story and explain it very well and there is also a text in front of the eyes to help. That makes understanding it quite easy even despite the 19th century language. So what you do is really helpful for the foreign learners. Thank you very much.

Hello Luke, today I was walking and listening your story. It was perfect. I know what is this story about in my own language but in English I have listened it fir the first time. You are like actor 😊your pronunciation and explanation are perfect. Thank you🎉
I was taught a ridiculous Soviet dialect of English at school - I'm old enough, you see. Later, while doing my compulsory military service in the 80-s, I've decided to learn English properly, and did it reading Sherlock Holmes stories, grinding through a page or two in a day. The method was to write out every word, and look its meaning up in a pocket dictionary according to the context. The key point was to write such words out no matter how many times I stumbled upon them, but, apart from that, spend no effort memorizing them. This way, the words I wrote more often were automatically given the higher priority, and so were the subtleties of each of them. I think I speak a decent English nowadays, so I have no idea why this video was suggested to me by UA-cam. But I really enjoyed listening to "The Red-Headed League" story, despite knowing almost by heart. Thank you!
OMG I have only known this guy for 15 mins and im already in love ! Like...my fav accent with my fav story with a great guy ( who just became my fav! ) mate this is legendary!
