One man, a camera and a hint of madness setting in by the end? 😂

Wow, I've never seen you so torn over a piece of gear James.

To me as one who has a 100W Classic Reverb and the 40w Vintage Deluxe, The Classic I would describe as the amp I always wanted my Vibro-King to be. And the Classic Reverb is the clean machine I wanted my Twins to be. Both have exceptional quiet operation and tons of features, but at the core they are meant for two different things. Both amazing!

I’m so grateful for the fact when I bought my Bloomfield Drive last year I instantly bonded with it and I have loved it every moment I’ve owned it. It is perfect on every regard for what I like and it has satiated my desire for amps. It and a hot rod deville are all I own now! I feel really bad for people who have spent the huge amount of money needed for a Two-Rock and then not got on with it…

Is the weekly gear cycling to feed the channel or do you actually completely change your setup that often?

I don't have one, but the Vintage Deluxe is the nicest/sweetest/most comfortable sounding amp that I've ever played through over the 57 years I've been playing.

My Vintage Deluxe 35W 6L6 and 3x10 cab arrived last weekend! The amp and cab are brilliant! I completely understand why several pro players like Josh Smith are putting one in their rigs. There is no way I would trade or sell this amp for a different one. This is the best amp I have ever played through and I have a different Two Rock, several Tone King amps, Vintage Sound amp, Vintage Fender Vibroloux, Morgan amp, and a Kemper. The Vintage Deluxe is a total keeper, imo. Also, my number one is a Collings I35LC. Pairs great with the Vintage Deluxe.

Just a 5 watt Fender 6v6 something or other a few reverbs and drives a Strat and a Tele and 40 boxy blues roots tone filled years just wizzed by, good luck with the search, I’m loving the channel

I think I am going to trade my 35 watt Vintage Deluxe for a classic reverb. I have always overlooked that model.

I think you would love the head version of the amp with a different cab. Imho the 1x12 combo does not show the full potential of the amp. The 3x10 and 1x15 both are phenomenal sounding.

But the big question is can you do that on a Harley Benton guitar and amp?

Really enjoyed your thoughts on the amp mate… but gotta say that Collings with Shanks with that amps was a stellar sound

Sounds great. I can get close to that drive sound with a JHS Colour box V2 in front of a Ceriaton JM50.

I have a lot of time (and respect) for Doug and will definitely be taking one of these for a test drive.
We are, of course, in a profoundly subjective area here, but for me, nothing comes close to Divided by 13 Amps

I have the FTR 37 and an RSA 23. Both, in my view, are exceptional. I think the FTR 37 is probably the one to try first.
The Divided by 13 2 x 12 is by far the best sounding cab I've used with the amps. @@JamesOnGuitar

Honestly the amp sounds great in your hands and with your rig. Some of the best tones i ve heard from that channel, up there with the best true vintage gear demos on the web

A shanks vs jan ray comparison would be cool... I''m torn on which one to get!

Loved the introspective almost monologue style to this video. I think you may feel some relief if you give the VD back next week. Doesn’t mean that has to be a final, “not for me” as you can always get one again. Look at it this way, like guitars, if you give it back, then find you’re longing for it again once you don’t have it, that’s your answer. If you don’t yearn for it you’ll be trying something else soon enough anyway.
I’m surprised you haven’t ordered an “Amplified Nation” yet after The Studio Rats recent best amp ever video. I know you’ve just suggested that Dumble style amps are not your thing, so I’m sorry if I’ve just fuelled your fire. 😊
I often wonder as we go through our own tone journeys, if one day we could magic ALL our gear back, what would we want to keep in that moment🤔 I think our tastes not only change, but swing back and forth over time. Perhaps if you have a Rift Aynsley Lister amp again at some point you’ll
wonder why you ever let one go. You used to love that combo 🙂

Any thoughts on Two Rock Vintage Deluxe vs Bartel Rosalind?

    • @JamesOnGuitar
      @JamesOnGuitar  7 місяців тому

well although they are v different and i'd need them both in the room to make any real thoughts... having the vd is making me strongly consider getting another bartel roseland tbh

James it's fairly obvious you have second thoughts on your initial vids but buy what You want and not what the Internet wants you to buy! Someone will always love it and someone will always hate it! Trust yourself mate.
