- In this video, I detail the process of replacing your air flap/blend mode actuator. This is the motor that regulates the direction of air flow inside your Dakota or Durango (windshield to vents; vents to feet; etc). Please, follow along and enjoy! This process should be the same for 2001-2004 Dodge Dakotas and 2001-2003 Dodge Durangos.

i've been searching for two weeks for a tutorial about this issue and this is the only one i could find thank you
I’m glad it helps! Good luck
Im confused on how to line uo the rod and where it goes
Do you still need help? Sorry getting back with you so late
Has anyone seen a video on changing the Air Flow Actuator on the 97099 Durango?
Are both actuator identical or different?
Both actuators are exactly the same, as far as I know. One is just closer to the firewall, the other is further away from it. I replaced the actuator that is further away
I want murchindice
Good video. However instead of just showing which actuator you are replacing with tiny little on screen shot. Please tell everyone which one you are replacing is blend door or mode actuator and if it's the one closest to the firewall or the steering wheel. It would make it a lot more Clear. Thanks
Thank you for your feedback. Mode actuator is the one getting replaced. I guess it’s the one closest to the steering wheel. It might be a bit confusing because people have different names for these parts and these actuators look exactly the same from what I can tell.
anyone have a part number for the air flow actuator for a 2003 durango ?
Algun Link de compra?
Lo busco pero no encuentro ninguno
The top pin that the long plastic arm was supposed to be attached to is absolutely gone. I don’t know what to do cause without it I can’t get anything to work any way. I can’t find anywhere to buy it either and don’t even know what the pin is called
I would recommend visiting your local junkyard and locating a similar year Dodge Dakota. Junkyards will allow you to take parts you need and purchase them for cheap. Often, internal parts like the pin you are referring to are untouched. It will be most difficult getting to it, I think, since it’s so tucked away under the dash. But it might be your best bet to find this specific piece as a replacement for your truck.
How do you line the disk up?
cool I turn my ac and turn it to vent and its coming out on the floor and I don't get much out of the vent at all. maybe this is the fix thank you
If so, it’s a relatively cheap fix. Good luck!
