This damn near perfect blaster comes with everything one could want out of the box: Almost always can go 100 feet, can adapt to most available mags, can fire half and full length darts, comes wired ready for LiPo right out of the box with minimal fuss, and plenty of space to go with brushless in the shell if ya want that kinda thing. Dart Zone is paying attention to what the hobbyists want. Hasbro can take the kiddies market and keep it.

4:39. Well it gives you options in more than one sense think about it: if for whatever reason your li-po runs out in the middle of a fight and you still have the old tray of batteries you can use that to quickly replace it mid-fight
Even if lipo performance is about the same, it still gives you a rechargeable battery instead of chewing through packs of AAs. Aren't 3s lipos like 11.1v with more current draw available compared to 8 x AAs 12v with lower current draw? When upgrading a stryfe to 7.4v over 6 it gives fps improvement. 11.1v over 12 may give less power with faster spin up and rate of fire due to current draw.
The half darts, the lipo connector built in, the ability to use both talon and katana mags, heck even the use of picatanny makes me think dart zone either pays ALOT of attention to the community at large or they really like aftermarket nerf stuff either one is fine, dart zone doing this was exactly as you predicted though you said awhile back that if nerf didn't start caring about the modding community someone else would and here we are. Sure the pro line is small for now containing what? 4 blasters that I know of yet each one is amazing in its own right. Frankly I wouldn't be at all surprised if they don't release a spring thunder knock off in the future.
The difference in rev pitch between AAs (eight=12V nominal) and a 3S LiPo (11.1V) makes me think that the current draw of those motors makes the AAs sag HARD. I'm very interested to see how eight Eneloops or equivalent rechargable batteries (which would mean 9.6V nominal and can output boatloads more current) would compare. Not something I can test myself unfortunately because Australia :(
@@FelixstoweFoamForge of course course! I’ve only been into this hobby for like a year, and this will be the second fly wheeler I’ve bought. I haven’t made the lipo jump yet because I just shoot around the office, I don’t have like a locals or anything. Lipo investment is just too much for me right now. @@WalcomS7 yeah I was seeing some of that too! Guess this thing has some odd inconsistencies. Hope those get ironed out. Mods will do it for sure, but maybe tweaks on DZ's side can make them more consistent going forward
Out of context, but in our dart games be it hvz or anything else, we tend to balance the half length darts, due to their increased accuracy and fps, by having them do 1/2 damage
So glad to see Dart Zone embrace different battery types! I'm surprised 8AAs can provide the torque and squeeze to shoot darts through the 40mm cage! Definitely a leg up with them velocities on just AA batteries alone, I’m sure the community will make some cage, flywheels for the MK3 to get them sweet numbers on lipo. The full length side, while I understand where you coming from and can agree, we also gotta remember that some peps/groups may not use half darts, own a bulk of half darts, or don’t allow half darts at events.
Also, it's maybe possible to get a bit better flywheel speeds off a full length, as there's more time in contact with the flywheels! I get the love for short darts, but the compatibility really is one of DZ's best points

This blaster just looks absolutely beautiful and I'm glad dart zone put a LiPO connection to the MK3. dart zone is becoming my favorite blaster brand in all honesty
Lots of comments so someone has probably already observed that 8x 1.5v AA batteries is 12volts and a 3S LiPo is 11.1volts (yes at full charge it is more) so the slight drop in performance is understandable. Considering it IS set up for 8xAAs, I wonder if it would survive 4S LiPo.... 😆 Excellent review as always! I specifically watched this one FIRST.
As someone who exclusively uses full length darts. I appreciate that this blaster takes them. I'd consider buying one if I wasn't a "no batteries" purist.
The fact I'm trying to get into airsoft I see the Phoenix here on this channel my kid side was giddy for the blaster keep it up man you got a sub today!
I had it stop revving and tried new batteries and it didn't work so I returned it for another one and the second one also stopped revving and when I went to take it apart there were 2 striped screws
Hopefully we can see some more exotic blasters from this range. I think air power is criminally underutilized in modern foam flingers. Maybe we could even see a CO2 blaster or two.
Can you imagine a high pressure pcp semi auto with a long enough barrel to maximize the FPS as a sniper. If you can get a 50 cal lead projectile to 7-800 FPS I’d imagine a 300 FPS short darter would be possible which could make sniping a real thing. You would be limited by the size of the air chamber so it would a set amount of shots you’d definitely need a secondary fly wheeler or springer.
I want to say I can’t believe they made a blaster this good, but it’s honestly not out of their recent character. Best foam-flinging mass-manufacturer out there.
