If I were Hasbro, I would straight up just keep selling the classics like stryfes, rapidstrikes, retaliators, and hammershots. They keep discontinuing all the fan favourite blasters and replacing them with, what, exactly? I'm fine if they want to keep selling full length blasters, that's fine with me, but at lease make them good. Seriously, I love NERF, and it was blasters like the stryfe, rapidstrike, and retaliator that got me into the hobby and are still my go-to war primaries. So please Hasbro, either keep doing what you were doing before, or make something totally new and better. This is bullshit.
Fun story: this is the first video of yours I watched. First time I bought a Nerf product new from the store I was choosing between a BC Roughcut and a Warden, and I could not get the Roughcut I bought to single fire for the life of me. Looked up a review to see if that was a change from the original, saw this in the search results, and thought I'd watch to see what I missed out on. I think I made the right choice after all.
GhostlyBlue probably bc we can buy a ton of wardens, melt them down, and drown the guy in charge of quality control and the guy who wanted screw-less blasters
Hasbro: Cutting corners and cockblocking NERF enthusiasts from modding is gonna be good for us! We'll sell more blasters when the unmoddable and impossible to repair Elite 2.0 models break! Actual consumers: Why pay $30 for something that breaks in two shots when we can buy two of the competitor's blasters and a pack of refill darts from an off-brand company for the same price? Hasbro's designers need to stop thinking like Steve Jobs/Apple and their "proprietary properties", and more on the level of embracing quality blasters that are a base platform that entry level NERFers can get into and use just fine, while enthusiasts can modify and upgrade at their leisure. It's not just anti-modding, it's getting in the way of the consumer's right to repair, and it's doubly problematic when faced with significant design flaws that render blasters completely inoperable chunks of plastic from normal and expected use. And the Slam-Fire not properly firing the left-column darts? My goodwill Rough-Cut has problems with the ARs shunting the bottom four darts just enough out to not launch properly sometimes, but it's held up to more abuse than these two Wardens have by miles. Perhaps we need a good old-fashioned Adventure Force equivalent to the Rough-Cut to kick Hasbro in the teeth. I'm glad I keep up on various Nerf youtubers at the same time. Other reviews I've seen of the Warden haven't encountered any issues, but I can't afford to get a lemon when they cost this much per blaster. You're the first one I've seen face these problems and even though the sample size is small, the blasters came from different sources and suffered the same failure. I think maybe the plastic or other materials used in the internal components are more brittle, and if even a single tooth breaks off of a single gear that can spell the end for the whole product.
I love how Hasbro advertises Elite 2.0 as the "next generation" of Elite although in reality they're just cheaper-made reskins of standard Elite blasters. (At least for the springers, the flywheelers are pretty good.)
My mom said XD roughcut is good I got a toys r us with a lot of XD roughcuts Quick edit: it's inexpensive too at like RM119.90 soo that's something and the stryfe is the same price
If I ever find a warden at goodwill, I will buy it and attempt to open it up. If I can find a way to open it up, I will post it to reddit with steps on what to do.
No joke when the dart fell out during the firing test I tried to laugh with just air, but I laughed so hard I couldn’t help but actually start laughing. This thing is terrible
Hasbro is taking dramatic measures to guarantee comfortable incomes for his shareholders. No more metal, too expensive! If a blaster had a slight flaw, its elite 2.0 counterpart will fail epically due to poor material design. Don't buy springers that will turn into plastic garbage faster than it needs reading this comment.
Man I've gotta say, the passion you put into this stuff is very impressive. Whether you're raving happily or raging like this time, the energy and enthusiasm shines through. I only wish that someday I can find a hobby to be so into as you are with this one. And I also know to not bother with this 2.0 shit lol. Thank you, Walcom, for being entertaining, inspiring, and informative all at once.
How nice, but you don't have to criticize the elite 2.0 too much because there are also good pitchers and also in the video why you throw the warden, eh, does your hand itch or that your behavior seems very bad to me, Walcom, we all know that there is shit about pitchers but you don't have to take it seriously
@@alaeriia01 Yeah, at least as of Toy fair this year, two of their blasters actually have full grips for once (Rebel Mech and the Recon/Vulcan Hybrid have such grips) and they might be improving on the Long Distance Dart design (Granted, the latter is from Blaster Hub's preview, so take that as you will)
They're intentionally making blasters impossible to take apart so you need to buy another when it breaks. That negates everyones modding abilities and makes us look like normal consumers returning a broken blaster instead of fixing it.
I've only had 1 of my ~50 nerf guns ever fail, and it was because a dart got jammed in-between 2 pieces of plastic in the mechanism. It took about 25 minutes to repair it and it's worked fine ever since (the gun I'm talking about is the mediator). If two of these broke immediately after buying them with no way of fixing them, they are worse than every nerf gun in my collection, including some 2007 original yellow ones, and some of the cheapest off-brands (including one from chuck-e-cheese), none of which have EVER failed on me. Ah yes, the only Rival blaster to shoot Elite darts! Amazing! - said nobody.
Wow..... you typed all of this? Impressive.
(good point tho)

They're intentionally making blasters impossible to take apart so you need to buy another when it breaks. That negates everyones modding abilities and makes us look like normal consumers returning a broken blaster instead of fixing it.

If two of these broke immediately after buying them with no way of fixing them, they are worse than every nerf gun in my collection, including some 2007 original yellow ones, and some of the cheapest off-brands (including one from chuck-e-cheese), none of which have EVER failed on me.
