Thanks for the wonderful tutorial Nick. I just magnetized my first of three stalkers. It was hairy but I made it through. :) Due to limited travel storage I also magnetized the cockpit. Having fun with magnets. Keep up the great videos.
Excellent video, Magnets are a great way to get the most out of any kit, and your video was really helpful in showing some awesome tips (never thought about using greenstuff in that way before)
I used to magnetize every kit I did, but it got really old with regular foot troops and weapon options I'd never use. Then I'd also have arms and guns everywhere and keeping it all organized enough to find hat I needed was a real chore in-itself. Not to mention the extra painting all those extra arms/guns created. So I stopped bothering for the most part, and just mainly magnetize vehicles/large units like this, as its not much extra effort for the extra versatility and not early as many extra bits laying around/to find when needed.
Yes my friend, that is all I used. I would suggest getting some N52 strength magnets if you can or at least N45. Don't use N35 as they won't be strong enough
+IDICBeer 40k thank you. Appreciate the quick response and this video. I ordered some right before you replied and luckily they are n50. So, I should be good. Thank you again

Good stuff, glad it was useful :D I still need more of these myself he he
Perfect timing on the video! My wife is picking up this model later in the week and this is going to help her loads! Thanks for the video buddy!

awesome vid! I'm a bit of a magnetoholic myself. really a great way to get the full value out of your expensive models. cheers mate!
debbie jo ayala Thanks a lot, love magnets and love all the new 'dual' kits GW are doing these days ;)
These magnetisation videos are excellent andincredibly usefull. Keep it up!
Great tips as usual. When I have free time I need to do my ghost/Doomsday ark
Thanks pal :)
They will be slightly weaker, but I cover mine with primer, paint and then varnish and they still do the job :)
Nick, you didn't actually need to magnetise the main body of the gun. When it and the part it is connected to are sprayed it supports its own weight.
great video thanks mate
No problem, glad it was useful :D
Very nice and clear video keep it up :)
Thanx to this video. You use smaller magnets 2mmx1mm, but can you tell what size your larger magnets (which one on the top and in a center)?
All the magnets are 2x1mm
Would covering the magnets with primer make them weaker? Not sure if you have run into that, just wondering.
At a similar place with my stalker. But how are you going to convert from walker to hover?
thank you
Your welcome 👍
Nick I can't seem to find the yellow "magnet topper" on any of the sites. Is it called something else that you may know of
?
The yellow topper is just from a child's toy mate, find something you can use and just glue a magnet to the end ;)
Thanks Nick. I'll make something out of green stuff.
i've only manage to get 3x1mm magnets, do you think i could do it withou problems?
Should be fine
nice tips and trick, thx :)
I know what you mean. According to the people at my local I have a "weird magnet fetish, or something" as I magnetise most of my stuff.

Have you magnetized the legs before?
No not on this model, sorry
how long are the magnets good for? would hate them to lose their power after a year or so
As far as am they don't lose their magnetism, but only if you go for a neo one, Iv'e never had one stop working anyway
Neodym looses the magnetism in about 2000 to 15k years. But if they are exposed to great heat, they'll loose it way faster
where can you buy this drill?
Any model/hobby shop, it's called a pin vice, GW do one although it's a little over priced
So I only need one size magnet? The 2mmx1 ?
