This car sounds a lot like the 1968 Dodge Dart that I used to have. It had a 440 that had an Ultradyne camshaft. I don't remember the full specs but the lift was 558 and it was a solid cam. It also had fender well headers that had 3 1/2 inch collectors, it sounded awesome uncapped! It had ported and polished 906 heads, a Weiand tunnel ram with 2 660 center squirters, a 3500 Hughes stall converter. It was the stock steel crank and rods, bored 40 over and had forged pistons. It also had a 150 HP shot of nitrous and 410 gears in the 8 3/4 rear end. I don't know why but it never seemed to be as fast as it should have been, I think it was the heads, a friend of mine and my brother ported them years before I got them and I simply installed the correct springs and hand lapped the valves. It probably needed a full three angle valve job. It was still fun, it ran 12.01 on the motor and 11.23 on the bottle. This sound sure brought back memories! Thanks for the cool video!
I had a 67 Satellite that had a 383 strip motor under the hood. Pulled that motor out and replaced it with a tweaked 426 wedge motor, TF8 with reverse pattern valve body, shift kitted of course, 3500 Stall speed convertor, with a Z-Gate shifter. She was a beast, but purred like a kitten at an idle. Had to sell it to pay rent and bills. I was raising my kids alone, so it was a small sacrifice to make. Sure do miss her though..... The car, not the ex!
Can remember as a 16 yoa being at the dealership service desk when the first hemi I ever saw was brought inside. It was more than sound, my insides vibrated. Had a Barracuda Formula S. Anybody remember that funky angled off sort of box shaped single exhaust resonator the 273 hipo used? Certainly not a hemi or 440 but it made a marvelous sound for that little small block.
Beautiful job on the car. I have a very similar build in my 73 Roadrunner but I just got it running and am working the bugs out of it. I'm curious if you have had it at the track or on a dyno, and if so what are the numbers. I hope to be running mine by early June, 2021. and I'll post what I run. Thank You.
Thanks Randy. I haven’t had it at either. I keep breaking stuff. I broke 2 transmissions, I just upgraded the motor mounts cause I kept breaking them. I’m hoping to have it back running soon. I have a different intake and some other stuff for it
I forgot the front size. The rear is 15x10 with a 1 in spacer with a 325/50/15. I had 15x12 with the same size tire just switched it up. Thanks Harry!!
bicylindrico its a 73 motor, redone 70 heads, headman long tube headers, 2 1/2 in exhaust to super ten mufflers. Edelbrock rpm intake manifold, Msd ready to run distributer, Holley 750 carb, Hughes 440 whiplash cam, with there upgraded valve springs. Nothing special. Just a 440 4 speed 😀
@@rileyarnold8647 I’m running the stock 73 bottom end for now. It’s got cast pistons, low compression motor. I’ve been dragging my feet on doing anything to the bottom end cause I want to turbo the engine. We wanna see how far we can get with it before we start to build the other motor
I’ll Get some uploaded soon. Life has gotten busy and the car has been sitting in the garage. I’m trying to get a new set up On it for next year so we’ll see!!!!!! Fingers crossed 🤞
Speaking of sounds, anybody seen a GTE race. Cars look like GTP's ( as in Ford vs Ferrari ) but are ELECTRIC! I stumbled over one on TV. Good racing, but no sound. When time came for a pit stop, I was eager.to see how they would change batteries. They didn't. Driver climbed out and into an identical car and hummmmed off. The roar of a GT 40 V8 or the other worldly scream of a Ferrari V12, with those 6 dual throat Webber's in full voice on a straight....well, some things just shouldn't be messed with. Interesting though.
In answer to another's question prior to yours, he said it was a '73 440, which is spec'd at 8.2:1 compression, and that it had '70 heads, whose chambers are 2 cc smaller, which raises the compression- not much! Use of composition gaskets instead of the steel shim gaskets adds another 4.6 cc of volume. Actual compression ratio may vary considerably, and it's usually not in the direction you want it to be!
@@markleezy6465 yeah I hear you.. which I don’t think the whiplash cam would be ideal for boost so you’d probably wanna change that.. Which if it were me, for boost I would get a set of the low compression replacement trw/speed pro forged pistons for the 72&up 440 that would keep the low compression but give you a forged piston, all mopar v8’s have forged rods from factory, and the speed pro forged stock replacement is supposed to be the same weight as the factory pistons so you don’t have to get it rebalanced or anything… but if not that I’d at least tear it down, throw some new rings in it and gap them for the boost..
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any more......:-((

I had a 67 Belvedere once. Wasn't a big block, just a regular old 318, but I miss that car, and it's been over 40 years.

Flow master super 10
@D C it’s 2 1/2 I’m gonna go to 3 in the winter as I hope to go turbo. It’s a 4 speed so drivability is good.
Did you ever go turbo? I’m looking to do same can on my motorhome 440 and am wondering the outcome.
Mark can you please let me know what your wheel size and offset are and tire size? Thank you.
Hey Jason. There jegs wheels 15x10 in the rear and 15x6 I believe up front. I’ll have to look up the off set. The back is a 325/50/15 tire.
Is that the low compression 440? What heads and all does it have?
