It’s about having a regular or cheaper gas, 93 and up octane preferably with no ethanol generally cuts down on the cold start shenanigans, where I live we have only 2 option for gas, 95 and 98, and cold starts as dramatic as that Camaro are simply non existent , not with my friend’s ol’ 76 Trail duster, with the original 318 still moving that rust bucket, and not with our neighbor’s 77 Bronco however this now has a 351 Windsor (for 23 years now) coz the 302 was just too far gone to fix, still both old school engines …

I love my import car but American muscle is something I can listen to all day, a cammed V8 is just something else when you cold start that monster lol love every car that sounds good

That poor 70, 340 cuda, Jesus Christ prime the carburetor fuel bowl with some fuel before trying to start something that’s been sitting. It takes 5 mins to pull the air cleaner and save your starter.
Maybe this is a dumb question. But, was he trying to actually start it the correct way? I was always told never rev a cold engine, let alone an old one, in God knows how cold of weather lol
@@justin_lee3005 thats how you get the oil going and get the heat up on these. Notice when you start a newer car theres automatically a high idle, then steps down? No there are dangerous rpms but this is the way

Needs more than a choke, it needs a rebuild. that car has internal issues.
