There is always a thread of truth in an artist's work, always. To me this was the most tragic and heartbreaking loss in recent music history. My heart hurts to think about it too much. To me the 2009-2011 era was his second vocal peak. He had so much control and had conditioned his voice how to hit the high notes smoothly again. The live acoustic shows I saw of him were downright magical to sit through in person.
I saw him in Seattle his last two solo tours. It's incredible how much better he got the older he became. He was the best of his rock peers, this song in particular shows he has few equals in any genre.

I think chris was testing his wife...would she make the call to save his life...or would she wait...to call the body guard..knowing how much she would gain from his death...she has control over the chris cornell estate...i.e...lots of money...she got what she wanted...she could have made that call sooner..i'd be surprised if there wasnt a long gap between the end of her and chris' phone call and the call she made to the body guard...nobody has investigated the timing of those calls...
