    The mulch looks nice but be sure to pull it away from the trunk of your tree so it doesn't retain water against the tree bark and rot it, thus killing your tree.

    Good ideas, I have the same bed idea in my front garden and I'm a fan of conifers, I also use mulch spray to darken the mulch in between topping up. The neighbours always compliment the look even though it's so simple, keep up the good work👍💪

      Great idea. I've never heard of it, but I'll be looking into it. Do you have to cover your plants?

    * * * I love love the look of freshly laid mulch too.. beautiful ... Have you heard of MULCH GLUE? you spray it on and it holds the mulch from blowing away, from getting moved from water or weed wackers..Stops weeds from popping through.. Check out some videos about it.. You'll love it!!

      @@colleenscottcarmello5103 I have heard of mulch glue! Great idea! The thing with it is does it last? Have you used it??

      @@TheMorrisMansion Not yet.. I plan to use it on the pea gravel projects. Along the side of the house and pathways... and the edges of my mulched flowerbeds. I binged watched videos when I first heard of it. It seems to last a couple years or more.. One video they showed dragging having things over the pea gravel area a year later without any issues. and they don't have to worry about weed growing in the pea gravel area.. yay right.. I don't mind if I need to reapply it at some point as I'm very excited about it and all the possiblities with it. I mean, we have to reapply mulch every year as it decomposes too right.. I would used this on the whole mulched area tho, as the water will get through to water the flowers.. it blocks weeds after all. Maybe up to a foot in around he edging.. May be a great video and also can check in a year later and add the results. that would be a super helpful video for us gardeners.

      @@colleenscottcarmello5103 It sounds like worth a try! We might do that in the small section between the concrete pads. Great video idea.

      I wonder how it affects the breakdown of the mulch?. I want my mulch to break down to continue to make my soil better. Interesting.

    What kind of trees are those with the white flowers?

    • @TheMorrisMansion
      @TheMorrisMansion  Місяць тому

      @@tinapatterson1337 They are Crape Myrtles

      This crepe Myrtle is probably the Natchez variety, which has white flowers. They come with pink, purple, and a really dark pink that’s almost red. The ones here have regular green leaves, but there’s a variety called Black Diamond that has black leaves and the same flower color choices as above. The black leaves with reddish flowers is reallly cool. I have a green leaf-dark pink flower one in my back yard and just got a white flowering one…the Natchez one for my side yard. They look great!
