I just wanted to tell you that after watching your channel a few times several months ago I went out and bought a sewing machine. Lol. It’s still in the box. But one of these days I’m gonna try making one of your beautiful upcycled sewing projects.
Aww that makes me so happy! Regarding your sewing machine, take a minute, pull it out of the box and look at the first line of the instruction booklet...that's it! Don't even touch it if you don't want to. No pressure, just begin to get familiar with it. By the inch it's a since...by the yard it's hard. Happy new year.🤗💗💗💗💗
Blueprint DIY will be posting a video about unboxing a brand new sewing machine, setting it up and getting ready to sew your first project. I watched her video just before I watched Traci’s!!! Happy sewing! ❤❤Judy❤❤
So cute! Yes I mean the headbands, but you are so adorable too. 😊 When you showed the first one on the mannequin head, and you said she has no hair, my first thought was she still looked beautiful. My eyes were drawn to the headband and away from her bald head. My second thought was how lovely these would be for cancer patients during treatment! I know there are brightly coloured scarves and hats made with cancer patients in mind, but they typically cover the whole head. How lovely would these be in combining the best of both worlds though? A) to give them some coverage and a touch of glam, but also... B) not covering their head entirely so they don't feel they "need" to hide what they are powering through! Dressing up their reality, but not hiding it out of shame or fear of beauty standards or being cast sympathetic looks. There's something quite powerful I felt about that bald mannequin rocking that boho beauty! Instead of trying to blend in, it was more like: "yes I do have cancer, yes I am going through a rough time, and that's exactly *WHY* I deserve to dress up and live for the moment, because I am every kind of beautiful now that I have ever been!" I hope that doesn't offend anyone because it's certainly not intended to. If you cover your head with a scarf or wig and feel better facing the world that way then all power to you! I'm not saying it's "wrong" to want to blend in to avoid the inevitable "aww bless you" well-wishing sympathy of complete strangers. But if there's a cancer warrior who is fed up of acting like everything is fine, or finds wigs uncomfortable or too hot, wants to own their truth, but get glammed up now and then, then these would be a perfect way to embrace all of who they are. Ok I'll stop waffling. These are beautiful regardless, my mind just ran away with me, simply because I didn't even notice the mannequin is bald until you pointed it out. The headband did all the talking! And now I am...so I will STFU and scuttle back off to the shadows! 😂😂😂 Happy New Calendar Day! xxxxx
@@tmyershandmade978 awww thank you! I take a drug for my Crohn's disease that is a type of chemotherapy, although mostly used these days in transplant patients to help their body not reject the foreign organ. (Azathioprine) When I was first given it, I would wake up in the morning with clumps of hair in my mouth, poking my eyes or up my nose, and my pillow looked like a dog bed! 😳 Within a week of that nonsense starting I whipped the clippers out and shaved my head. But then I'm one of those people who doesn't give a shit what anybody says or thinks, and if they stare I'll yell out "do you want a photo, it'll last longer?" I know not everyone is that bold being bald, and if I was REALLY going through it, proper sicky, vomiting, and miserable chemotherapy, then I may not have the strength to be that bold either! So I can't speak from "literal" personal experience and didn't want to come across condescending. I have had early-caught cervical cancer which was treated with large loop excision, and am awaiting a full hysterectomy any time within the next couple of months, for post-menopausal endometrial hyperplasia, because that does turn cancerous given time, although my most recent biopsies are on the right side of safe at the moment. I have also watched my Mum die from lung cancer. I also volunteered at the breast cancer clinic at the hospital when I was younger. So I do have some cancer-related experience, but not the full blown horror of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. So I hoped I came across respectfully to those who have or are going through that. I can't possibly say "I know how they feel" because I've come as close as I wish to, to having to experience THAT part of the journey. I can't say for sure I'd be anywhere near as bold if I was in that situation - but the stubborn, resilient, refusal to give up or give in side of me, likes to think I would still be that bold. Perhaps, Goddammit, even MORE so! If that's not the moment to not give a rat's arse what anyone thinks, I don't know what is! 😜 I'm glad you appreciated my comment and that it came across in the nicest way. I continue to appreciate you. Wishing you and yours a fabulous 2024 Tracie! Lots of love, xxxxxxx (from South East England 😘)

To create a masterpiece from such small elements, remnants of lace, fabric..... So elegant and creative!!! Tracy you are the best! I love it too and create different things! I adore you !😘🦚🌹🌼
Well! I don’t know how I missed this one…… But I love these 💕💕💕 A headband my foot With a little tweak That’s a beautiful belt! lol! I love how you always think outside the box 📦. That’s what makes you so special! 💕
Traci-your videos are so informative. I’m a 70 y/o crafter with fancy sewing machines and you have inspired me to venture further into the upcycle craze. One idea I’d like to share regarding the headbands: a thin line or two of clear silicone (I found tubes of it on Amazon) will help keep them in place on your head/hair. Be sure to just add thin lines and allow to dry overnight. Super easy.
Your sense of style and pattern is remarkable Tracey! You have inspired me to be adventurous and use colors, fabrics, trims and pieces I would have never thought of. Raw edges, bits and pieces of yours always turn out beautiful! Thank you so much!
These headbands look terrific. Amazing what a little of this and a little of that does. It would take all day for me to decide what looks good together tho. 😊
Well my friend you did it again….you had me jumping around in my chair saying YES YES.. THEY ARE WONDERFUL. LOVE THEM. Simple easy and beautiful. Love your channel and as always I am never disappointed 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, is always the cherry on top. Makes me very happy and inspired to watch your videos. Blessings and happy 2024.
I'm almost finished with my very first item - beige jeans decorated with lace! They turned out so beautiful! And maybe I’ll make a belt for these jeans using this principle, like you make a headband.Thank you, Tracy!❤❤❤❤

So beautiful Traci ... again I am inspired. From this one ... I am thinking i am going to dye a bunch of different colours of my doilies. I am loving colour right now 😀
You are just so artsy and your canvas is any type of fabric or jewelry you can recycle. I love all three headbands.
