I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how much I appreciate your wonderful UA-cam channel! Your creative ideas are truly inspiring and bring so much joy. Keep up the fantastic work - your creativity shines through every video! 🌸
As always, beautiful!! A tip about shirring the duster sleeves. If you don't have a machine that the sleeve can slide onto, you could rip out the underarm seam, to make the sleeve flat, attach the elastic, then stitch it back closed. (definitely not saying remove the entire sleeve...that becomes work that just isn't fun)
Love love love the pants 🤩! I'd wear those every day. This whole outfit I just gorgeous. You know, I'm making one of my rooms a sewing room, just because of you. Yay! Having the time of my life. Thank you, Traci, for the truckloads of inspiration. Happy New Year to you, from Sweden ✨💖✨ /Gitte 🤗
I love this example of how to style an entire outfit! For myself, I would add either a full skirt slightly shorter than the pants, or a loose tunic or short dress over, instead of the top. Thanks for the inspiration !!
On the weekend I thrifted a bag of the most beautiful fabric for $2. Turned out it was a jacket that had been cut out and mostly sewn together. So I watched your post, raided my stash and finished sewing it while lining it and making it my own. It's been such a journey and I can now say I have made myself a piece of clothing. Thanks for the inspiration.
I’m a sewer by trade on the upholstery side. But always enjoyed sewing clothes if the pattern was easy. This puts a whole new meaning into clothes Just these simple techniques you teach is so empowering. Thank you.
Years ago I was given several swatch books of upholstery fabrics. I stitched them together and made a neat bedspread! It is very warm in the winter! I would love to have more of those books. I made a lot of other things too.
I think that what is cool is that we can take these techniques and put our own style and spin on them. Thank you so much for taking the time and showing us. I never knew how to do this with elastic!
I'm sorry to gush, but your videos are just so wonderful! It strikes me that you are such a good teacher, at each step I'm learning new things, but the beauty of your videos is that these things I'm learning can be applied to my own projects, because you also teach us creativity and thinking outside of the box. Thank you, I'm full of my own ideas already and am looking forward to revamping old pieces of clothing.
Just wanted to tell you again what fabulous videos you make! How you can continue to see all these different creations in your minds eye amazes me.I was always told I was creative but you really take it to a higher level. Love these pants, but the duster is fantastic. I would give anything to be able to find these to start with. I so look forward to your videos! I have them all saved on a drive so I can look back at certain parts of the video and see just hos you proceeded. You are most definitely the best and most laid back instructor I have ever watched on here. Thank you again for taking your time to share your creativity with us! Best wishes, Carla
Traci, all your work is so creative and inspiring, you are a talented artist. You are also a generous and talented teacher. Your instructions are so clear and so easy to follow, I would have to say you are one of the best and clearest instructors I have ever watched.
❤❤❤❤I love the crushed velvet heart on the shirt! (Yes, I would have passed over the shirt too.) Love the harem pants idea! Since I've never worn harem pants, I may have made them into gauchos. I would cut the sleeves halfway to the elbow and add lace, as well to the bottom of the shirt. I'd probably get that nice duster caught on everything and rip it!
This video is just what I needed for some items Ive held onto in my stash! Cant thanku enough! This is a beautiful project. Thanku from Robin in NC USA.
I really enjoy your videos, they are so creative and inspirational. One of the things I would enjoy, and maybe others would too, is if you would go thrifting and show us how you choose from the multitude of clothing items in thrift stores. Because I look at stuff and some things I can see could be upcycled but other things I would never consider. I think a video showing your process for choosing thrifted clothing would be really fun! Thank you for sharing your amazing ideas with us!
What great thrifting upcycling! I really like the cover up transformation the best then the shirt. The skirt transformation was interesting and different. Great job on them all!
I love the skirt, the velvet skirt and the duster. I think they look like spring together. The ruffle does add impact to the duster. I like elastic ruching it's very feminine. The dark accessories add a pop. Very good inexpensive ensemble 👍 😀
I've just discovered you and I absolutely LOVE what you do. Free, easy and shreddie... Fabulous. So, I've found my grand mothers sewing machine (1954 electric Singer). My partner serviced it. It's brilliant! I call her Little Suzie... She's worth more than my car, I've discover! Love Sally 😁
Love your channel , you are a Big inspiration so fun to watch, and your personality is lovely. Every time you make something, I said to my self . “ I have to make that “ I hope soon ! Thank you Tracy . 💖💁🏻♀️
This is a whole vibe. Such a awesome and fun look. You take wearable art to new heights. Love it. It's wonderful that you enjoy sharing. Who knew upcycling could be so much fun. Last year I didn't buy any new clothes...of course shoes and fabric doesn't count 😂. But I upcycle everything and I'm planning on doing the same this year thanks to your wonderful channel. You are very talented. Thanks for sharing my friend. And as you know I am never disappointed ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for another wonderful interesting video, the ideas are brilliant and the whole out fit is clever.Thank you for sharing your talent of up cycling thrift store clothes.
WOW! I don't know if you ever see the comments. You are so good at all you make. I love the duster I call it that you made. It's one of a kind, no one has a duster like this one. I don't like the pants part. That's not for me maybe some people but not me. Thank You,🥰🐾
Absolutely love this whole outfit. Every week you spark my creativity. I will be doing my first ever dye project tomorrow. I am very nervous 😂. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us ❤
Thank you Traci ... I bought my Rit dye and reading the instructions it says to use ColorStay Dye Fixative straight after dyeing cotton. Do you do this?
I love you. Thank you. I’m having so much fun. However, my bobbin is causing me frustration. I’m have so many ideas and projects, I want to hand sew them and embroider work. My son gave me a brand new BROTHER MACHINE and it has so many cool choices.
I have that same duster 😂 they must have dyed it because it only came in white as far as I know. TJ Maxx ( I dyed mine too!) Guess I’ll be breaking out the sewing machine this weekend!!!
Io avrei tenuto la gonna in vellutino e il cuore l'avrei fatto con l' altra gonna ma su un color di maglia sul beige. Ma comunque brava hai tanta fantasia❤
Very talented lady you definitely have a great eye for this, I love everything you do. Do you have any upcycling suggestions for taking boring plain linen shirts ? They are great to wear in the Australian summer but they are very plain 😊
Wow you really took that outfit from drab to fab! Those pants are perfect for the (usually) hot climate where I live. I'd like to make them just a little bit extra by altering the the legs hems in some way do you or your viewers have any ideas?
@@franambrose8667 It's not reinforcing the crotch but rather giving you more room. Check out Asian pants cutting on you tube. Do you know that a diamond shape insert in the armpit of a top gives more room if too tight. It's the same principle. It can also be done in the waist on a dress if it's too tight. I have been watching how to cut Indian blouses with short sleeves. They are very fitted but good for under garments. Asians are very good at cutting clothing. I think men are great at it. Check out Christopher Sartorial he is a professional pattern drafter with a lovely voice. 💖🖖
You could use the same ruching technique Traci used on the sleeves of the duster at the bottom of the outside seams of the pants. And/or a ruffle at the hem?
Will you come to TN and help me with my wardrobe? 😂 I have so many pieces that are similar to what you have! I just need to "fancy" them up! I am a plus size lady. I would love to have a dress form that is adjustable but it is not in my budget. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can use instead?
