The "Every device on dock/MagicDock" thing needs to be the newest meme.
Aren't you always commenting on jknews video?
YAAASSSS
Totally!

I need to see the IPAD PRO on it when it comes out haha, he will have to duct tape it to the desk to keep it from tipping over !
People complaining about the price in 2015
*3 years later iPhones being more expensive than the laptops*
The laptops are still more expensive but ok
The iPhone 11 Pro Max costs more than a MacBook Air
Or you can buy an iPhone 11/SE with the same A13 chip, but what do I know 😜
This Magic Trackpad review is the ONLY review that actually addresses the clicking. I didn't even realize the Force click feature until you brought it up. Force click is an important point to bring up and it boggles my mind that people can make a review on the Apple Magic Trackpad and not only not say one word about Force click, but not say a word about the clicking at all.
This is the video I've been waiting for.
I'm an audio engineer so as you can expect, scrolling and clicking gets old. This might be my saving grace. Now I can just use gestures to zoom, cut, copy and everything else. Such a relief. Thanks.
Having been using a macbook pro 2012 for about five months now, I'd say that it's probably the best trackpad experience I've had so far. The texture and the gestures are intuitive and feel natural, and I've even been considering getting a good tkl keyboard, a magic mouse 2, and a trackpad in tandem.
The reason which makes me stay with Macs is their awesome gestures for navigating the OS. And the hardware they make which makes these gestures so easy and something you cant live without.
Oh and I love the Magic Trackpad, the Magic Mouse is too limiting for me.
Great review, thank you. I'm sold. Just need to sell a kidney.
excellent review! well done.
+Orlando Thank You :)
+DetroitBORG you're welcome sir! your videos are awesome! informative, great views, professional looking, list goes on and on. looking forward to the 4k Imac review.
+Orlando I'm looking forward to the iPad pro coming out in November
+Moon 30 I am too. And the prices for it are reasonable#iPad Pro
+Orlando I like it how it starts at 32GB and not 16
Windows user here but jealous of all the cool gestures you can do on this trackpad. My Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro can only do a jerky scroll on webpages.
One of the most comprehensive, thorough reviews I have ever seen. Great job and thanks for the review! This has persuaded me to shell out the cash for one of these!
A track+ball person, but every day the trackpad makes more sense because of the number of gestures and features they are adding to it. Trackball has always been my favourite tracking input mechanism, I think this was started by the trusty PowerBook 145b that came with one. thank you for the complete review.
I love working with trackpad, just got this its lovely
Did he just charge his trackpad on that lightning doc? LOL
Why is that funny?
That's not even funny
it's just random, you guys take it too seriously...
+Irun Mon tsss
No offense, but thats funny
DetroitBORG, This is so fun! I'm happy I found your channel!
Who’s watching in 2019 where the MacBook Pro trackpads are the size of a country
Cpstechreviews yus
I planned to upgrade all 3 till I saw the upgraded price tags as well.
Magic Price Tag.

This is the best video and you are the only person who can explain about a trackpad completely without any doubts for 7 mins ... you are genius ... you are an example for Genuine Reviewers ...
This Trackpad has been sitting in my desk for 3 years, I guess I'm not that curious. Anyway, I would pick up the little booklet that it came with and after looking at it for 5 minutes, I'd give up. I was about to just throw the thing away, then thought just Google it and find out WHAT it is, your video came up and voila you succinctly answered my question in a way a 73 year old could understand. Thank you. Maybe I understood you because we are both from Michigan-Ha-Ha.
Love the new magic trackpad. The white is so nice. It is perfect with my white iPhone 6S and white Lumiy Lightline LED desk lamp.
I wish that the apple pencil worked with this trackpad.
Don’t forget that its apple...meaning its never going to happen
Sky Light I don’t think you how the trackpad works
that is literally the stupidest comment I've ever see why would anyone want that?
Sean ____ to use the trackpad like a Wacom
Gappie Kill Haha, exactly. Now who has the “stupidest comment”?
I love how you put every device on magic dock 😂😂
I uses to be a track pad guy, but then I bought the mx master for video editing. (Planning to have the track pad to the left for gestures) then when I got the mx master, I was AMAZED at how many buttons it had! Especially since each one can do about 5 functions at once! After probably a total of 5 hours tweaking and adjusting, I fell in love with it, and it does everything and more than I could ever of hoped for.
^mini review right there... Totally worth it!
I appreciate a good mouse but I prefer track pads for day to day use, and I believe it has to do with how I, like most people, am adjusted to touch input from my smartphone.
BEST reviewer on youtube. Loved the crispiness & cleanliness of each of your videos!
When he put it on the dock I died! Omg 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for your review.
I bought the trackpad once I watched it and I'm very satisfied with its performance and feeling. I was really tired of the traditional mouse and this is a very refreshing accessory.
Magic Trackpad for me all the time....Magic Mouse is fine too but I prefer the trackpad
The quality of the videos are the best on UA-cam, keep it up Mike
Another lighting cable! Good for u my man!
I'm a trackpad user and probably always will be!
I personally don't have a preference, but I know some people have REALLY strong opinions when it comes to Magic Mouse vs Magic Trackpad
Am starting to like trackpads so I think am gonna get this.
Thank you sir! I'm a first timer to Magic Mouse. I got a low battery warning. I was actually watching your video and was relieved to hear a couple of minutes to five while get you nine hrs. LOL. I have to finish something now not later. LOL. Take care.
As I do a lot of video editing on iMovie, as well as photo editing, I prefer the Tradkpad, and a lot. When I pick up the mouse, I feel like I'm going back 25 years. The years when the mouse seemed to be the future. I don't want to go back to the past. I did try to edit with a mouse, but alas, the work is very long and daring. Example - it is impossible to rotate an image, or text at 12º with a mouse (if the software was not provided for this). With the Trackpad, you can write on an image and change the angle of your text at will.
Dual-weilding is best. Trackpad on left side for gestures, zooming, and swiping - and mouse on right of keyboard for everything else.
I personally am both because the trackpad is easier to use for things like mission control, switching through multiple full screen apps, etc. I use a mouse for gaming like TF2 and Minecraft on my Mac.
You should be on 7 million rather than 7 hundred thousand, you Sir are awesome.
Great review! It's clear you do the necessary research before your videos. Thanks.
this is the only accessory i would want for my mac that wasn't third party because it is the only force touch trackpad out there. I prefer my ergonomic keyboard over apple keyboard anyway, but the trackpad seems really cool.
Magic Mouse 2 all the way! I don’t like to use the trackpad on my MacBook Pro even thought it’s the best out there for a track pad.
Great review. I'll be staying with my old magic trackpad and Logitech performance MX for the foreseeable future. At $129 is crazy expensive considering the older one looks better and is half the price.
I used the trackpad often but after years of using my laptop for school, I tend to switch to back and forth to the mouse whenever my hand starts cramping
I literally rolled my eyes up when you docked that trackpad (#magicdock)
I am a track pad user.
I am definitely buying that beauty in the near future!!
Im going to by the brand new iMac 27" this week.I learn that is better than the previous 5K, 25% better quality.I also have two iMacs from 2013 and from 2011
I say a trackpad is a must if you want to take advantage of all the handy gestures.
Been watching detroitborg cause I like the way he talks and presents products irrespective of the brand
Please do a review of the new 27" iMac. I would love to hear how the Skylake performance(both CPU and graphics) stack up. I know you have the 27" iMac from last year. Could you please give some comparisons on the AMD GPU.
Ordered :)
+DetroitBORG Thank you sir!!
Does the new one really has Skylake and not Broadwell?
+DarkCloud360 yes but the strange bit is they still stick with ddr3
Are these hand delivered by Magic Johnson, signed with a magic marker?
ria nope. Delivered by usps and signed with an apple pencil, the second gen. 😂
Uhh, I believe so.
got mine today. Works very fine. Lets see what does my hand say after few hours of work
nice variety of features to be able to turn off clicking sound and tapptic feedback n turn of force touch
I went from wack ass Microsoft windows, To a HOT ass iMac with wireless keyboard and trackpad. Let me tell you something I’m never going back to windows. I love my iPad I love my iPhone, MacBook Air and I love my iMac. Big Apple Fan here.
Love the videos Mike. Thank you!
+Hi-Fi Insider Thanks for tuning in :)
+DetroitBORG Should I get the Samsung Galaxy S6 or IPhone 6s.
#magicdock
+Woodepic Media This is meant to be about the trackpad or mouse you idiot not what phone you want or specs of the phone so SHUT UP!!!
I'm a trackpad person so this would be nice to have
You really have the best video editing, angles and composition on your videos
I used to hate trackpads... that stopped when I got my MacBook Pro. I still use my Logitech mouse here and there, but I absolutely love Apple trackpads. If I were to one day get an iMac, I’d get it with the Magic Trackpad (though that’s probably just ‘cause I hate the Magic Mouse)
Edit: #magicdock
I'm glad I watched this. I ordered the "Silver" trackpad and foolishly expected it to be, um.. silver, instead of stark white. I almost tried to peel off the white top surface.
I have an old MacBook Pro 13 and I use the Magic Mouse once Ina while. But after seeing this video I might buy the track just to see if I would use it more often.
I Am Generally A Mouse Using Person But After Watching Dis Review I Think i should Switch To Mac-osX
I have been watching your reviews from last two months !!!!!!!

Thanks learned a lot about the new and the old.
Very nice information about the product given. In fact after see it I have purchased apple magic trackpad 2. Thank you for guiding.
interesting the magic track pad works via blue tooth even if it is plugged in. I love the force touch functionality as I could purchase a magic track pad to get force touch for my late 2012 mac mini.
For Me, I would consider myself a traditional keyboard / mouse person. I have to say that for a portable device such as my iPhone i like the gestures and touch screen, etc. For a computer, even though i've given gestures a fair chance when using the macbook pro as a laptop, i still like a traditional mouse, and full sized keyboard over apple's little keyboards. While I use the apple aluminum keyboard that is a full sized keyboard including the number keypad all apple's recent wireless options i won't be buying until they give a full sized keyboard with keypad.
I'm not saying I don't like ideas behind the new products, I just think it's geared to a specific group of people.
Anyway great reviews as always keep up the great work!
Great review, I used to use a magic mouse but its not ergonomic at all due to its sharp sides and size. Now I use a magic trackpad 2 and a logitech mx master alongside eachother.
I use both because I like a mouse but the trackpad has a lot of useful gestures
Excellent reviews on your channel DetroitBORG. This one too. Your analysis is straight to the point, succinct without being superficial, relevant and comprehensive. And most importantly you don't shove your face into the camera shot unlike so many other vloggers. Finally you have no idiotic brain-wasting music contaminating the review. Too many others think they are Hollywood movie producers when they are simply reviewing consumer electronic products. Thankfully you did not fall into this category. Great review.
just picked one up for my 5k imac... I plan to use it same as you... for scroll and zoom mostly and mouse for more precise stuff like gaming and editing
For my part, the design of trackpad of thinkpad is the best one. Because it has two physical button built on the top of the trackpad. It makes using the trackpad extremely comfortable. That is the main reason i still stick with thinkpad.
I have got a late 2013 MacBook Pro, so I obviously don't have force touch track pad in my machine, I went and bought s normal Magic Mouse just a few weeks after purchasing my Mac, as I found it easier for video editing etc.
There is times when I can get by fine with the trackpad but sometimes I want the mouse as well
I have the same laptop, I am trying to figure out if I should buy the new one to replace my cracked first gen trackpad
Not a trackpad person, but still love the new model. Only problems are that it require Bluetooth 4.0, the entire thing is white on the front, so it doesn't match the new keyboard that well, and it's way too expensive. Nice video.
I think I am a convert. We still have a mouse on our desktop computer, but I do not use a mouse with my laptop (from school)! Track pad all the way.
The trackpad of Apple is the only one the makes sense in my opinion, because it's so intuitive. I use MX Master as well, if I would like to use a mouse.
Really nice review! I switched form Windows PC to Mac because of the track pad. It's so convenient. Thank you for this excellent review!
I hated the old trackpad, but might try the new one
Track Pad All the Way! Thanks!
The best features of Force Touch are being able to find the definition of words online (even though it's not always as accurate) en previewing websites. Bummer that I have the last rMBP model without this trackpad (Mid 2014), but you can actually tap with three fingers, and it'll do the exact same thing, and I actually like that better!
I've researched...trackballs,trackpoint,mouse. I'm going to choose this one for my mac. its a continuous development along with mac apps. gestures force touch etc..
I don't currently use the track pad except for on my MBP 2015! I like the setup however again the height doesn't match my previous generation magic keyboard, the batteries are not replaceable. and the cost! You can maximize functionality by attaching the trackpad to the left of the keyboard and the magic mouse to the right. Wish there was a way to backlit the track pad especially through the glass but it might mess the sensor... not really complaining since I don't use it now but was hoping to get one in the future here. I will have to go to Amazon to get the previous generation trackpad and now its no longer mainstream will pay a smaller cost for the accessories.
I prefer using my trackpad when working on the Cintiq as it gives me almost all the same functions of zooming, scrolling, rotating, etc. as a touch screen.
I think the trackpad is a great job I must get it when I get my iMac
this is so nice i tried it in the store i definitely would buy this over the magic mouse
I run Logic ProX studio software on a Mac Mini and I use the previous Magic Trackpad and love it. I no longer use a mouse at all. I also ordered an Apple Logic Pro keyboard which is the width of a standard keyboard but the short cut keys are color coded and it has a number pad like a standard keyboard. I can't say that I'm going to run out and buy this trackpad yet just for the couple of feature enhancements that were made, but when I'm in the market for one again, I would probably try it out.
Hi! I have a few important questions about the trackpad and I'll really appreciate if you answer:
1. Does Magic Trackpad 2 respond as quick as the MacBook trackpad? I mean the input latency, i.e. the time between you move a finger and the cursor moves on the screen. The latency is noticable on Magic Trackpad 1 and it feels tough comparing to a MacBook trackpad so I consider an upgrade.
2. Does Magic Trackpad 2 perform multitouch gestures (e.g. scrolling a webpage) as smooth as the MacBook trackpad? The 1st generation has issues with this too.
3. How well does the trackpad battery feel after a long time? E.g. how much can the trackpad work on a single charge after 1 year of usage compared to the initial condition?
To make the long story short, do you notice any difference or inconvenience while using Magic Trackpad 2 compared to the MacBook trackpad?
for the best review in the planet I come here
Thanks 1000000 times
I miss this videos... 😞
looks cool now we have the space grey.
I've used the Magic Trackpad for years with my iMac. Would love to upgrade, but can't justify the price before Christmas!
high quality! I'm still using trackpad 1. The new one is tooooo expensive
im mainly a trackpad person but i like to use the mouse to on my 5K iMac
Must say, this was a very informative review. Now I have an idea of what I'd like to purchase for my photography editing and sims.
I sure would like to try it! I think I’ll run out today and get one. Thanks for the review.
Hi Mike,
Thanks for taking the time to put this up.
Just wondering if you knew this, can't seem to get a straight answer. Called Apple directly, the answer I received was 'Yes', though the lady did not seem to have hands on experience with it. Looking online and speaking to a few third party retailers, the answer was 'No', and they sounded confident, but also didn't have one on hand to test.
My question is, can the Magic Trackpad 2 be hardwired, and subsequently disable any bluetooth transmission? Do you know?
Thanks for your time.
James.
One good thing about the extra width, is I'd sometimes activate Notification Center by accident when I'm trying to scroll side to side. So the extra width means I wouldn't need to get my fingers so close to the right anymore. Too bad it's so much more expensive than the original Magic Trackpad. I doubt I'll be able to buy one, unless I can find one on sale somewhere.

He talks about the Magic Trackpad 1 having a physical right and left click (they are in the rubber feet). I still use the 1 and I never use the physical click. Just lightly tapping with a finger is enough to click, tap with two fingers for rightclick.
The Magic Trackpad 2 is still awfully expensive, even secondhand. So if you can find a cheap Trackpad 1 then I highly recommend it. It’s still awesome and you don’t have to use the physical click!
I like using the trackpad for basic browsing and scrolling in a web browser (mainly Safari), but when it comes to using a DAW for audio, video editing software, or playing games I have to use a mouse.
I used to be a mouse person, preferring the Magic Mouse. However, now I am a trackpad person, with the Magic Trackpad 2.
I definitely prefer the trackpad. I have the trackpad 1 with the battery compartment, but I would really love this model. I will probably trade in
My current trackpad on eBay and by the trackpad 2 once I have saved up enough cash. Great vid. Thanks.
Sucks how our work computer is an early 2012 with only bluetooth 2.1+edr, we must get a newer one of these lol
Logitech MX Master is definitely the best mouse I have ever used but, you're right. While it does have a good deal of functionality it exchanges using gestures for increased precision and the ability to switch between three devices. K811 keyboard is great for the same reason.
