- Apple is notorious for making some of the most expensive, and often times the best electronics on the market, however thats not to say every product they make is a master piece. So after having both the magic track pad and mouse for well over a year I’m confident I can help you decide which would be the best investment for you.

I bought the magic keyboard 2, Magic Mouse 2, and Magic Trackpad 2 at the same time, and I must admit that the trackpad truly does feel magical. The keyboard is pretty great too, despite just being a keyboard, and the mouse feels like a normal mouse with a couple of extra features. The trackpad is the best of the three by far!
So do you recommend trackpad and magic mouse at the same time?

The other two are fantastic. That’s said I use a mech keyboard + trackpad + Logitech mx mini 2

@@abhiroy5276 If you like using gestures then thats the main appeal. A normal mouse is always going to be better at pointing, but for just clicking about on the web its nice to have the trackpad.
I personally think the trackpad is good for me when web browsing and making presentations, but the mouse on standby makes sense for spreadhseets and repetitive tasks. So if you get the pad its a nice quality of life thing, but not better in all facets, and i'll probably always use both
I liked how quickly I got to the most important info and how I asked the audience to subscribe I learned about the products i was looking for but I also learned how to make good UA-cam videos and ask the audience to subscribe. Great work bud! Thanks a lot
After using the mouse 2 for over a year, I had an intense 4+ hour video editing session that left my hand nearly crippled.. had to learn to use my other hand to work for a few days and finally got the trackpad to see if that would help. So far so good!

Get an mx master 3
Doing repetitive computer work, I've had issues with index finger from clicking the mouse, and also painful wrist problems. Started using a tablet with a pen (wacom) that replaced my mouse. This allowed more natural positioning of hand & arm which resulted in no more pain. A mouse is an awful tool for people who use it for long periods of time
Mouse is too flat. Looks sexy but not ergonomic at all
Brilliant review, I had the Magic Mouse 2 but it made my hand cramp up really quite badly so I sold it and bought the Magic Trackpad 2, I'm so glad I did it's great.

I work on audio all day, switched from the Magic Mouse to the track pad, it saved my hand/arm
I just bought my first Mac computer, M1 mini. I am familiar with Mac because of work. I absolutely love Apple products. Apple's Trackpad 2 is what I am going to go with. I will however, buy the magic mouse for traveling. Thanks for the work you do!
I despise the Magic Mouse, but I absolutely adore the Magic Trackpad. I use my Mac for music production with Logic Pro and game development with Unity and Rider, with a little bit of Photoshop

i have been using tracked only for several years now and recently got mx master mouse from logitech. I am so used to using only a keyboard and trackpad for my iamc, the mouse is more comfortable for longer and complex tasks such as editing 3d models. Thus, for day to day stuff, the track pad is amazing and so fast to navigate, for longer and more complex work flows, i use the mouse and place the trackpad on the left and use it in sync with the mouse
Liked the video. I have magic keyboard 2, Magic Mouse 2, and magic trackpad 2. I use my MacBook Pro mainly for productivity. Love the keyboard, love the trackpad. I only use mouse when I am traveling due its form factor. Because I don’t use my mac for gaming, I have found no discomfort with mouse. With that said, I still prefer my trackpad more than my mouse. You may ask why I just don’t use the trackpad on my Mac? To me, it is a little small. Magic Trackpad gives me so much more real estate to work with. That is just my two cents. Keep up the good work!

But don't you feel more comfortable to have the trackpad just below the keyboard on the MacBook? Isn't it faster than moving your hand from magic keyboard to trackpad?

I tend to use my 16 inch MacBook along with a monitor side by side (much like your setup) and will often move tabs from screen to screen and switch where I’m looking, I’m so used to using a mouse to do this- does the trackpad make it difficult to move windows around? I assume there is adjustable DPI? I feel like transitioning from a life long mouse user to just a trackpad will be a huge adjustment

I am delighted with feel of the Magic Mouse 2 over long periods of time. My hands are small and the mouse fits perfect. Apple's Magic Trackpad 2 is an easy tool to use while concentrating on work. Magic Mouse 2, Magic Trackpad 2 and the keyboard displays a professional design to work from.
Great video! I just got a Magic Mouse in white at the beginning of this week. So far its been a decent experience all though I haven't used it for extended us just yet. The glass is smooth for the most part and I've kinda gotten accustomed to the changing in positions I need to do in order to use it thus far. Overall the Magic Mouse is not bad but the trackpad on my Mac, which is identical to the Magic Trackpad, is far better imo.

One thing you missed about trackpad from development POV is selecting a pretty large text like say while coding. I find mouse being far more easier to select code than trackpad.

I’m a programmer who only uses trackpads. Highlighting text with these huge trackpads has never been an issue for me but I also use good ol’ shift-click to highlight if I know it’s going to be massive
I love both but honestly I like the Magic Mouse more actually It’s my favorite mouse I’ve ever used

Great video, thanks for getting into it straight away and clear explanation. Would have been great to match the video up to the audio a bit better please - it was sometimes confusing/distracting when the audio did not match up with what was being shown.
For example at 1:10 onward, when you discuss the mouse, you say that its like any other mouse but the video is already showing the mouse's gestures - leading me to think, "are you saying the gestures are like any other mouse" before then realising what was going on. Consequentially, as you describe the gestures, the video does not show this which is disengaging when describing abstract/uncommon features, such as gesture controls on a mouse.

For the longest time I was using this really old apple mouse that had a tiny ball instead of a scrolling wheel so you could scroll in 2 dimensions. I remember that it also had one solid piece of plastic for its surface and I found that a problem when I would accidentally center it right click when I want to right click. I can imagine that would also be an issue with this mouse as it’s even smaller.
I just ordered a few ball mice to replace the apple one that finally broke down, but if I had to choose one I would definitely take the trackpad

the mouse is pretty but if you're going to use it for long periods is going to hurt your hand a lot, even more so if you have big hands because the mouse is small, is really hard to grip it so you end up doing that just with fingers and the palm of the hand is kind of in the air wich after a few hours lets to a lot of muscle pain

cannot believe how uncomfortable their mouse is though?? feels like an old ipod...the one i got from walmart is better IMO but once I get used to the "magic" mouse, I will most likely change my stance. Appreciate your videos!

Any heavy photoshop user using the trackpad 2 here? How was it for retouching and detailed editing like using clipping path and other photoshop tools?
I just bought the Magic Mouse, been using the track pad on photoshop for a couple months now. Honestly this was the BIGGEST reason i bought the mouse, to be honest masking took way less time when using a mouse but we’ll see how it goes!

@@charitygoldart So I actually am not the biggest fan of the mouse at all, it's clicker is really loud and gets annoying when masking. Since then i've purchased the Logitech MX master 3 and it's worth the money. easier controls and better tracking IMO.

I don't understand how 9 hours of battery life is great. That means I have to recharge every day. For comparison, my Logitech MX Master 3 has many weeks of battery life. I might consider the Trackpad 2 though.

I agree. I would say that the MX Master 2 & 3 are perfect for people with normal to large hands, and the apple trackpads (regardless if they are on the laptop or separate like this one) are the best to use on a Mac.

the only downside is that the cursor moves quite slow on the screen, even on the fastest setting.

Hey! I got two questions! I am now using Apple’s keyboard with numeric pad in White, I was able to get it cheap through somebody. Would you recommend buying either the mouse or trackpad also in white? I was thinking about the mouse in Space grey. Secondly I like the looks of both of these devices, but would you say the trackpad is ergonomically worse than the mouse?

I just tried it on my iPad Pro and it works great. Never thought of doing that but what a cool feature. Now I don’t have to touch my screen at my desk. Acts like my finger on the iPad.

Would have been nice to actually demonstrate the moves being described for the mouse rather than all the fumbling around.
I have several unused versions of the trackpad. However, the Magic Mouse does not like to tell me if it IS CHARGING. As in, the little battery icon and green lightning bolt we expect to see? So there is no way to know while charging the "magic" mouse if the lightning cable even works. And, do you know what notorious means? I beg your pardon, do you 'literally' know what notorious means?
Go to settings and press on "Mouse" that tells you
But question for an iPad what do you recommend me?

think the Magic Mouse gets more hate than it deserves. I have both the Logitech MX Mouse and Keyboard Combo and The Magic Mouse and Keyboard combo and thanks to apple's design, the magic mouse combo will always be my choice when I need to get work done in record time. There will never and I mean never be a keyboard and mouse combo as fast as the Magic combo. I even have a mechanical key combo and that has to be my slowest combination.
So in essence, Speed = Magic Combo; Comfort = MX Combo; Clicky-Clack = Mechanical Combo

My magic mouse finally stopped functioning (doesnt connect / loses connection often) after 2 years. I keep on banging it on the desk to get my connection back, any tips how I may get it to work? It seems like a hardware issue. If I cant fix it, I wonder if it'd be worth buying the trackpad

Yes, it is similiar to a touch screen meaning very easy to navigate code and switch between screens. My Dad codes and he loves the trackpad.

How can ANYONE even THINK about preferring a trackpad over a mouse?! People buy mouses just to use in combination with their laptops because trackpads aren't ergonomic at all.
