People's internet goes out for various reasons and the quality of varies even in the US, there is no reason to have single player online. Many games have done this and took this back so it proves it's not necessary.

Don’t get me wrong we do get a lot of remakes but games like elden ring, sekiro and it takes two push the industry forward and R all original titles.
Bungie isn't there to make PlayStation games play like destiny. It's about the structure and workflow to produce a steady release of various content. Bungie has teams working on cosmetics that are helping fund the teams work on dungeons while large expansions are released yearly followed by months of different seasonal passes. Every team work feeds into all the content and support each other. It's also why Bungie has steady job retention because everyone is always working.

Honestly, people need to move on from the "good ole days" mindset and understand that things have changed. We're never gonna get a giant multiplayer game without microtransactions or being a Gaas. It doesn't make financial sense to release a game solely focused on multiplayer without trying to establish a steady revenue stream from it.
I think BG vs Jack and Alex all made great points. We'll see for sure once these PS live service games release.

Remakes are necessary. I don't buy all of them, but for the games that I missed, they are crucial. I'm not trying to go back and play a ps3 game because I missed it. I got this PS5 with all this power. I need graphics and game play to match.

Some things you don't do, sections have been slightly changed or whatnot, Ishimura is completely seamless and backtracking, etc.,. And the new horror system they have completely changes how safe you feel in areas you've already cleared. You stay uneasy. Far from a TLOU Part 1 aka Remastered Pt. 2.

I gave the multiplayer debate an unbiased listen, and BG was not convincing. History and data suggests Sony will produce many more failed games as a service than not. And there’s no way to predict which ones if any will succeed.
What are you basing this on? From games that came out two generations ago? As if that source is still relevant nearly 15 years later?
Previous data is not transferrable. Those were multiplayer components from 10+ years ago and at best were after thoughts to single player. These are dedicated and fully invested multiplayer projects with full dev cycles
This is based on all game developers results, not just Sony. Creating a multiplayer games as a service hit has been pure luck. Sony’s track record with success in other genres does not equate to guaranteed success in a games as a service genre that has mostly produced failures across the industry. Sony is not the first company to put forth a full on effort into games as a service. Most of the companies that have tried this have failed. They will be lucky if even 1 of these games catches on and has long term success.

The “formula” is not producing a high percentage of successful games as a service. I think it’s the model of games as a service that’s the problem. The companies goal is literally to design an incomplete game and hope it’s fun enough to keep people engaged for years. High risk high reward strategies are bound to be unpredictable and mostly produce failures. If anything, their strategy to develop as many of these games as they are, is proof that they know the odds are against them.
Not sure how they could say that EP3 changed Bill and Frank. If you actually played the game and payed attention then you’d know that it was true to their relationship and characters. Kinna sucks to feel the coded homophobia by some of these members.
I don’t agree the character was changed at all either. When Bill talked bad about Frank in the game I could tell he loved him. The show was the same, Frank was kinda an ass but Bill loved him we just actually got to see it.
Now the situation we see Bill in compared to the game is completely different and Joel+Ellie don’t get to interact with him. Also none of the action with the infected happens. That’s a fair critique to miss that being cut but the backstory to Bill was well done and felt completely true to Bill’s character to me.

Gears of War only needs a remastered of Gears 2 & 3. We can forget about both Gears of War 4 and Gears 5 ever being a thing.

1 to 1 renditions of games shouldnt even be considered remakes. RE 2-3 and Ratchet n Clank are remakes. Dead Space and TLOU 2022 are remasters.

I personally dislike PlayStation right now, I want them to suck ass. Yes, we've gotten good games here and there for the first years of the release of the PS5; but most of the games were either, 3rd-party, came out on the PS4 as well, or were a remastered - we've known about all these games for years now, even before the PS5 release. Besides Spider-Man, which we only know that it's supposedly coming out this year due to a mistake by a person on the dev team, and Wolverine in 2024--maybe--we have no idea what's next - that shit is annoying to me. How has it been a little over two years now since the PS5 released, and we have zero information on what's to coming for us - on top of that no showcase's.
