Anybody whose watched for years remembers how he and everyone else thought the Switch would bomb and would make fun of Blandrew for saying it'd be successful. Bond's prediction of failure for the Switch went all of the way up to its launch almost 2 years after Iwata's death. *In Jan 2017 he put out a video called "The Switch Proves Nintendo Didn't Learn Anything From the Wii U".* In October 2016 he put out a video titled "The Nintendo Switch Will Be Another Failure By Nintendo". His opinion didn't change.
And he tries to pretend that Iwata didn't oversee the Switch's creation because *he'd rather take credit from a dead man before fully admitting that he was wrong.* lol. Anyone who knows anything about the industry knows that the R&D and design of a console takes years and starts early. It wasn't done after he died. He also would have signed off on all of the launch games. Breath Of The Wild was the Switch's killer app and it was shown at E3 2014, a year before Iwata died.
Criticize him for the failure of the Wii U but also give him his flowers for overseeing 3 out of 4 of Nintendo's highest selling machines: Wii, DS, Switch.

blandrew, for dragons dogma 2 save files arent tied to microtransactions. you can change your build anytime in the game with discpline points that cannot be bought, you have to actually play the game to get those points.

Bond did say Nintendo would be better after Iwata died but that was before the switch idea was revealed. He literally said on a wwp episode (forgot which #, I just know Darkcloud was a guest) that the switch would fail and he would even bet his steam account if the switch succeeded.
I usually don't agree with Smoove, but he is right about journalists. Especially those who started to talk about politics in their reviews and articles... the anti DEI crowd would never have been as vocal if it wasn't for the journalists attacking gamers as a whole, imo. Also, the journalists holds so much power in the industry that the devs change their games because of them seeing something as problematic.

Here is my 2 cents on the censorship Stellar Blade issue. I don't think it was Sony who censored the game. Every platform is going to have some form of code of conduct. I believe this is a marketing ploy by shift up. Shift up did this before when they released Nikke. The concept art, and game characters had sexier garments before release. Then when the game released they censored it a bit by making small changes. At this point I believe they are using the sexier marketing to draw people in, then when the game releases they clean it up to fit the platform's standards. The Sony's platform censorship probably doesn't apply to the marketing, this is why the devs said "This was always the design".

Even though the main draw of Stellar Blade is its sex appeal, Stellar Blade is ultimately still a game and there are many different aspects of a game. As crucial as the fan service is to its popularity, it’s possible the relevancy of the game would’ve been much lower still if the game wasn’t well received. It’s actually dry rn in gaming, Nintendo has released no games, PlayStation has no games and Microsoft has no games.
Stellar Blade just came out and so did Eiyuden Chronicle.

I have no clue if those xbox games coming this year are going to be good/great, but realistically if we look at how well those studios previous games did, then Smooth has a good chance of winning. Makers of Avowed previous title "Outer Worlds" scored average 85 with a relatavely small budget and before the rescources they now have with MS/Xbox. Makers of Indiana Jones previous entry "wolfenstein 2" average 87. Hellblade 2 is a little harder to tell becuase the first one reviewed okay with like a 81 average but on a very small budget, so it could go either way, although it has had a long time to cook , with more rescources than before. I mean even something like Halo Infinitee, it has a 87 average on metacritic. I think people are way severely underselling the quality of xbox games just because of the dister Redfall was and thinking Starfield flopped even though it has a 83 on xbox average, and a 85 on PC.
Having more resources than before thats because Microsoft owns them doesn’t automatically makes those games better than their previous games Its not about the quality of those studios its about how Microsoft would handle them as a publisher. No one trust Microsoft when it comes to handling their own first party studios thats the big issue more than the talent of Bethesda studios like Machine games or Obsidian.Obsidian last game was Grounded and it got 81 on metacritic Ninja Theory last game was Bleeding edge and it got 66 on metacritic Redfall got 56 on metacritic,Starfield got low 83 on metacritic.And all of those games are released after Microsoft Acquired those studios.The only Microsoft devs that atlist consistent with high 80 to 90 plus is pretty much Playground games that made Forza Horizon and the next Fable but all of Microsoft own Studios besides Playground or maybe Coalition i dont believe they will make a high 86 games mostly lower than 83 to 79.

I'm aware that technically other games have released within the studios, but the games you mentioned had different people working on them and a fraction of the people and resources. They were also very different kind of games that were less polished and released in betas/ early access. And actually technically Pentiment came out after Groudned which was reviewed very well.
People making avowed are those who made outer worlds and will first first full game since. Same for Ninja Theory, hellblade 2 is the first full game since the previous entry.

Pvp focused or survival based games that relase not fully complete typically review lower and over time become big successes just like sea of thieves

Xbox fans hyped Starfield up so much, that backlash was inevitable, if it didn’t live up to the lofty expectations placed on it. Also when you consider that Starfield is from the same studio that made Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and Skyrim, an 83 is pretty low from a studio of that caliber. If Naughty Dog was to put out a new game that got a 83 on Metacritic that would be equally disappointing. An 82 for Stellar Blade is considered good, because it’s the first AAA console game Shift Up has ever made, and the expectations for Stellar Blade weren’t that high. Having high expectations for a game will make ppl more critical of the game

The diversity of idea and political views is only occurring right now and had not generally existed at all in the past. In terms of skin color, how many main stream games are made with a black lead? There is a reason why people had complained for years about all male characters resembling Nathan Drake or some bulky white man.
