Welp, I didn't make it in time for Halloween so I really took my time with this one! Hope you guys enjoy it and be careful out there! Wouldn't want you guys to shit your pants and all that. Also, I didn't know what sort of background music to use for Dead Space as the game's music is all bombastic orchestral pieces that are kind of distracting so I put some Left 4 Dead songs in there just FYI HUGE THANKS to Rythaze for the AWESOME thumbnail art ► ua-cam.com/users/Rythaze
My buddy I visited completely closed all his windows to where the the room was pitch darkness then told me to play Dead space. That Dick completely scared the shit of me. Love that guy. Wish we had a HD collection for PS4 and XBOX one.
Speaking of Isaac’s suit, I recall reading somewhere that the developers took some inspiration from hard hat diving suits, especially those designed for industrial areas where the person wearing the suit is expected to be repairing a piece of equipment while completely submerged. Watching the footage you’ve captured after all the years since I last played Dead Space or its sequels, I can definitely appreciate the rugged utilitarian aesthetic they were going for in regards to Isaac’s iconic suit.
DS2 did a really good job of showcasing that inspiration with the vintage engineer suit. It's bulkier, has an air tank on the back, and the suit has couplings for the gloves and boots instead of looking like armor plating over a body glove.
I greatly appreciate the aesthetic in Dead Space 1, while it's already going for a stylized look, it's still feeling gritty, not like modern sci-fi where everything is designed like it's meant to look appealing to the game's publisher, with clean and curvy look to everything
I just played and finished it for the first time this year. I’ve never been scared shitless by a game in such a long time. I think it doesn’t help that I played it in the dark in the middle of the night. I wish I played it when it was at the height of its popularity.
Captain Mutato I agree, most games now are just cash grabs. Gone are the days where games used to be created out of pure passion and offers a lot of replay value.
I really wish he touched on how some of the enemies will play dead after taking a hit and if you turn around they spring back up without making any noise but once you look back they start screaming as they tear towards you!
Also, the first time you run into a play dead Necromorph is absolutely terrifying, and keeps you on your tippy toes throughout the whole game. It's like the mimics in Dark Souls
I started watching this video, stopped it, played the entire game for the first time, and now have come back to watch Act Man talk about it. I’m very glad I didn’t miss out on experiencing this game first hand rather than having everything told to me.
Of course he says… words… but only when there is a fragile box with a soft pulsing light. *Isaac proceeds to bellow a screech loud enough to disturb the dead, whilst stomping his foot with enough force to decapitate a human being by stomping their wrist* All for a chance to get ammo, money, or a frick load of swarmers. And that beautiful word is *”HHRRRRGGGNNGG!!!”*
@@emaniajr6553 Ah yes, but that wasn't really the kind of elevators I was referring to. Those enclosed indoor kind of elevators are safe in ds1, but in ds2 there were times where the necromorph actually jump in from the vents into the elevator as the elevator was closed and moving.
I think that’s the worst part of DS1. Him showing not emotion or not talking when he definitely should just comes off as awkward. Hammond literally gets kill brutality in front of Issac and he really doesn’t have anything to say. I’m glad they are going to make him talk
My cat had a habit of jumping on my shoulder from behind when I was sitting by my PC. When he did this at 3 AM, while I was playing Dead Space... Damn. I almost got a heart stroke that time...
@@bjblazkowicz332 heart attack, heart seizure, heart failure, cardiac arrest, any way you'd like to call it. Or if you preffer a more vulgar expression: I shat tons of bricks. :)
I actually was to scared to played the first game so I had to sell it back. Then I grew a pair of balls and got it again and beaten it, and it became one of my favorite horror games of all time
Before I started playing this game, I was watching how Issac dies from all the necromorphs back in middle school, and when I saw the hivemind eat part of Issac, I started smelling vomit out of nowhere. I was just watching these videos on my ipad, relaxed, and I smell vomit right after he dies, it was sudden and weird.
Didn't have that problem. Got the game, loved the hell out of it, and played it for so long on my first sitting that my parents had to call my girlfriend over to get me to stop. Twas a good day, and dead space remains one of my most beloved games to this day.
And *THAT's* why the fans are faithful, take some notes 'Bethesda', until you *Miraculously* do, I will never look at you as a respectable company again!
@No Go I completely agree. I can't say I'm not disappointed with outer world's. I only played for 10or 15 minutes before I realized it's just too cartoonish for my liking. I still haven't played through it. I just lost interest in it. Which sucks cause I paid full price. The graphics alone turned me away and killed the immersion. And I love Fallout 3and New Vegas. Graphics suck in those games but they're not cartoonish or like you're reading a comic book. I wasn't a fan of fallout 4 either. It was too colorful and the b.s. with dialogue and dumbing it down so that COD players might buy it pisses me off to no end. Either way I was hoping for obsidian to give me a REAL RPG with at least semi realistic graphics and a good story. I'm not happy with what I bought.
I feel Dead Space 1 had the best Suit Designs as well, and the natural progression of Isaac’s engineer Rig into full on Body Armor was great. Something the future games didn’t nail quite as well with the exceptions being the advanced suit and Arctic Survival suit in my opinion which had great aesthetic to them. It would be cool if in The Dead Space Remake, instead of finding Suit Schematics, you would find them on the bodies of previous engineers who died during the Outbreak. Not a required change, but nonetheless would make the player feel more vulnerable and paranoid since even the strongest Rig wouldn’t be enough protection from the Necromorphs.
The suit would take up 1 inventory slot just like the schematic and then you can take it to the shop to fix using credits. It would still have you buy the RIG’s but it would look and feel so much better.
I feel you, but I kinda see why the suits in Dead Space 3 look somewhat shitty is because your using 200 year old rigs rather than the modern in the year 2514.
And then in dead space 2 Poor Isaac wakes up and lives to see another day alive only to see the whole place get USG Ishimura'd all over again might want to sleep forever
I read your name right after hearing the video's first line... was accidentally (not regretfully) impressed xD , at least we don't go our own way alone. :)
Imo, Dead Space is one the best games I’ve ever played, easily. I really felt alone, like I was a hundred lightyears away from earth and everyone I knew... on a ship full of dead people turned into monsters lol. Every chance you had to get near another character was like a psychological break from it, and you looked forward to it. That’s what made it so different for me. Also everything else was perfect.
I liked finding audio logs of chief engineer Jacob Temple and Dr. Elizabeth Cross. They made feel less alone on that nightmare ship. I wanted them to survive the whole thing. I was very angry at Dr. Mercer after he killed them in chapter 10.
To add that feeling of isolation, is the feeling of no control,. Let's talk about the mechanics and enemy AI. The game play didn't make you feel like an unstoppable bad ass, but a bad ass non the less. But the mechanics were tougher then just mowing down baddies with an AR with a huge clip. Or sniping head shots, or blowing them away with a big fucking shot gun. No, you had an engineering tool, that was bad ass but could easily miss, and very limited ammo (at least on hard). Which made you always have to sit up, and pay fucking attention to every shadow, every noise. Situational awareness was crucial, and tense. Most FPS games or 3rd person, whathaveyou, is fun, yeah, challenging, sure, but are you sitting up, ears perked, dialed in at every moment? No, we're sitting back feet up, having a thrill shooting the hell out of enemies that are more meant to die, then to actuality kill you .
I dunno about this one. I always main the plasma cutter but only ever find flamethrower fuel. Feels bad when the new bodysuit tier is available but you spent all your money on ammo in the last room
@@Saad-pj7ip I agree- I was constantly running out of ammo for the plasma pistol/cutter and with always either pick up Flameflower or those blade rounds?!? End it would really aggravate me because I would be like what the fuck I don’t have either of these guns?!
@@turismofoegaming8806 The ripper was actually pretty useful for those little critters that swarm you. Other than that, accurately aiming it was a pain so I stuck to the plasma cutter. Either way, I mostly found force ammo, fuel, and ripper blades.
@Saad I don’t know whats wrong with your dead space but whenever I have only one weapon equipped this goes for 2 as well the game throws the ammo for it at me in droves. I’ve never ran out of ammo in dead space 1 or 2.
@@doomslayer1210 even on the the hardest difficulties the game drops the weapon ammo you have equipped. They are misremembering lol it occasionally drops different ammo but it'd a guarantee for equipped weapon ammo.
Well, Kojima and Konami send a single man to do the job of multiple units and those games kick a**. I think the game killed all of them, but Isaac because one is enough, two is too many, and three is right out.
"The infection process is doing something strange to these soldiers. They all have built-in stasis units in their body armor. The infection is somehow merging the stasis unit... into their flesh or something, making them move fast. Really fast! Be careful." Creepiest description of a new enemy I've heard. This game is so horrifying (T_T)
@@danielliebergall856 I thought it was because it slows things down for the user, so from everyone else's perspective you're sped up, that's what you look like when using stasis too.
the biggest reason why I like Isaac Clarke is simple, he has a gun and is scared and alone. He is a badass that realistically does not want to be in the situation he is in. A lot of Indie horror deals with characters who are scared and when they meet the monster they push and run away, and if it gets them well they are dead. Isaac (to me at least) is that human feeling of "oh Shiz I don't wanna die" and in a last ditch effort for survival we swing for the fences. a lot of his struggle animation is him not only overcoming the beast but punching it and stomping it to a bloody mess. Hell if Isaac was in a horror movie he would absolutely be the type of guy to "Double tap", "Triple tap"... "Multi tap", the Monster once it's down, not turn around and say "well glad that's over." But I also love the fact that he is scared, he isn't a badass that KNOW's he is going to win in the end, He is a normal dude who is an engineer in the most horrible situation ever. But does he give up? no, Should he give up? maybe. Is he going to give up? fuck no. He is going to Hail Mary this shiz and hope he makes it to the other side.
DS 3 was actually pretty good, you people just didn't give it a fair chance in it's own right. You look at Microtransactions and refuse to play a game you bought, despite having no clue if they actually affect gameplay balance at all. Spoiler: It doesn't. You can fully max yourself out in a single playthrough and have powerful guns without MTs at all. Also the 3rd one does have some pretty decent scares and dark atmosphere.
@@Slimurgical i also like the 3rd one but for me the 2nd was the best one for me the 1 and 2 were more horror the 3rd was more like a typical 3rd person shoter and had less horror.
And the ending music is kind of fitting now, as Dead space is getting its own "intensity director" that dynamically spawns and paces the game around us! But not only with the necros themselves, it's also a lightshow generator, darkening places you're already been, using smoke or sprinkles or other sounds in combination with spawns... or not-spawns.
@@LoganFlores you get security clearence levels that will enable you to open doors in chapters/decks that are locked for that level, so it gives you an actual incentive to go back.
So…a more in depth take on the dynamic difficulty from resident evil 4 but with the horror…which makes it seem each persons experience will be tailor made to how they play throughout…holy shit!
The Act Man is the perfect combination of a badass and witty dude combined with that gamer that you know is great the second u join the lobby with him and a professional journalist that ACTUALLY tells u what going on TRUTHFULLY unlike what it is nowadays. He tells us these games and what's it's about in a smart and fun way while also being human and like a normal person while somehow being professional at the same time. He knows how to tell us what the game is like in the best way possible whether it's good or not. The Act Man... best game reviewer ever. Edit: Oh damn, this got liked by The Act Man himself and somewhat popular, nice.
Fun fact the “make us whole” is referring to the brethren moons, it messes with a person to activate a convergence event and then all of the mass comes together to make a necromorph the size of a moon and their only goal is to kill all life in the galaxy
This has always made me wonder if the brethren moons may at one point converge to make something greater, or eat one another if they eat everything else in the galaxy, which the games seem to hint is the case after humanity is gone.
So I always assumed everyone thought this, but with Issac Clark’s stomps being able to destroy planets practically, I just figured he would activate the mag on his boot as he was stomping to add additional power
@@suryagiri3798 probably something like shock absorbtion in the boots. I also assumed that because the boots are magnetized for Zero-G, that he uses that to stomp extra hard.
In the lore it's basically the suit upgrades that are giving him that type of strength so yes he is enhanced which is why his stomps do a shit ton of damage
one of my favorite parts of dead space was the audio stinger you would get when enter/exiting the tram during the start of a chapter. that sort of apprehensive violin showed this sense of mystery and horror while also showing me that I was make progress, that I was getting somewhere. being able to feel proud yet uncertain at the same time is just genuinely amazing sound design
Hate Fear because of all the jumpscares, I like horror games with creepy atmosphere without being loud as fuck, an screaming my headphones of the ears.
@@pavma7 same jumpscares are cheap but effective if used well but I remeber my first terrifying atmosphere was halo ce when u get introduced to the flood
I can still remember how bad the nicole jump scare right before the credits got me lol. I was actually pissed off because I was like... come on game, I just won.. I've earned a bit of respite here, a bit of safety and PEACE... and you do this to me!?! Literally made me jump off the couch. This game was an incredible experience...first time I played it, I had 2 friends over late on Halloween night, and we stayed up until the sun came up playing through the game. Best way I can explain it is.. playing this game for the first time was like experiencing the movie Alien for the first time. It was that damn good.
The gravity of that comparison is overwhelmingly underrated. At least I think it is. Because cosmic horror is a hard genre to get right. Let's be glad we didn't necessarily get what Alien was originally written as. "Space Trucker's" isn't nowhere near as terrifying as "Alien" was. It's kinda funny how O'Bannon and Shuster I guess tried selling there screenplay. Described it as it's like truckers, but in space lol.
Dead Space was way ahead of it's time. Shame EA destroyed this company. I thoroughly enjoyed 2 as well and although 3 was super far from what the original was in terms of horror over action I still beat the whole game with a friend. I wish they somehow could make a Dead Space 4 and bring it back to its horror roots
I enjoyed Dead Space 3 the most, mainly because like you said, they went more towards the action and gameplay rather than a full-blown horror game... Still, the Dead Space series had one of the best storylines I've ever seen in a game. Idk if this was intentional or not, but floating around in space has always been one of my biggest 'fears' lmao. Obviously having a cool space suit/power armor makes it a lot less 'dangerous'. But if your suit randomly lost power, you'd basically die lol. A tiny crack in your gear could lead to death. Not to mention any kinda high-speed maneuvers would be extremely difficult or even fatal, especially over long periods of time.
The best option is to remaster the first two games, fix the bad checkpoints, make good pc ports, and make Dead Space 3: The Visceral cut. This would be the dead space 3 visceral wanted to make, using leaked ideas as a basis to help create the dead space 3 we all wanted. I don't think a reboot would be the right way to go, because than Isaac would probably talk, and while I love Gunner Wright as Isaac, the first game is better without a voiced protagonist. The game's atmosphere would not work if Isaac talked. Even worse, with how EA works, they wouldn't bring back Gunner to voice Isaac, because why stay consistent and bring back a fantastic voice actor when we can save some money and just have one of our speed dial voice actors play the part.
@Kyros Droztamyr no it dont lmao yall really think microtransactions ruined the story too? Good god the micro isnt even that much of a deal in DS3 and DS3 is a great game just not as good as dead space 1&2 still fits still is a great game
@Kyros Droztamyr thats literally the only thing yall ever bring up when yall say DS3 is bad i know the problems with DS3 but its really no where near horrible or makes the game bad
Kyros Droztamyr You’re being the sperg here. DS3 upped the ante on its lovecraftian lore. Of course autists will overlook that fact when blinded by the business practices that are separate of the artistic merit.
The first dead space was by far the scaryest of the three. I remember when i played ds2 and i had to go onboard the ishumaru again, i got flashbacks of horror and got sweaty. For me it is evidence that the first one did it right.
There are a few, very few that do this. Reminds me of the Xenomorph from AVP 2. The only thing that was on the screen was this oval light at the bottom of the screen. When you would get hurt, the oval light would dim slightly until it became a mere glimmer. In a totally opposite contrast, the predator's UI had those alien symbols on both sides of the screen and an ammo counter. Fcuking brilliant, i think, for that age. The early 2000s were truly great years for gaming as devs were still experimenting with all kinds of weird gameplay mechanics, unconventional story and interesting UI and controls. Nowadays everyone just makes cookie cutter games cuz people expect a certain standard. FUCK standards. We need more out-of-the-box game development again...
smart design? the camera in this game is atrocious, it covers about 1/6 of the screen the entire time you can barely see anything, why isn't this game in first person??? oh yeah, because it's another trash game made for consoles, stereotypical tps with bad controls, wonderful

When a game can be replayed 10-20 years later and still feeling timeless is the formula of a Legendary videogame! Dead space is one of those legendary games!
Yeah I noticed that immediately and also noticed every single L4D track..... I am one of those people who listens to soundtracks for things I play/watch instead of regular music.
@@Arassar I listened to the dead space soundtrack a lot too (yes there is one) and he barely used it in this video, if it all. Kind of a weird decision on his part but it was still an awesome video.
For me the scariest part of playing Dead Space was when an enemy would run from you and escape into the vents. You jus knew he was gonna come back eventually, but not knowing when and where created that stressfull antecipation that makes yours hands sweat. Such an awesome game.
dead space was one of my favorites for sure. i just wish the series didnt end the way it did. it was so unique in its delivery and horror that no one else could really compete. i hope they do a prequel or something one day. this series deserves a last hoora of amazing story and horror to the fans whove not had a new dead space in years.
I always tell my friends that Dead Space 1 is the BEST in the series. It has an atmosphere that keeps you tense all the way through. It feels like art, in a way. Since it accomplishes its goal so perfectly.
Dead space 2 and 3 had amazing SEGMENTS.. But as a whole package Dead Space 1 was definitely the best complete story. Dead Space 2 could have up'd the atmosphere in the sprawl especially because its suppose to be post outbreak... Dead space 3, well thats a whole different demon as they started dismembering the game giving you torso but charging you for the limbs... seperating so much of the gameplay like that with Microtransactions made it so disjointed, making the game maybe to easily accessible??
@@MatthiasAI I disagree. I think DS2 overall has a less tedious and more fun story to playthrough. A lot of that comes down to the guns and enemies being balanced better and the overall level design being engaging. DS1 again had the better horror atmosphere in comparison to DS2's slightly more action focused one, but I'd give replayability to DS2. I never did get around to finishing my DS1 impossible playthrough, but I did complete Hardcore on 2.
DUDE!!! you knocked this vid out of the park! ... I'm sharing with everyone, even my wife who is not a gamer but enjoys that I enjoy them... "A good horror game is a lot like a hot girl who isn't crazy." Damn brother...you pulled off a universal truth in the first 4 seconds. That's gotta be a freaking record!
Something that always get mentioned is the stomp but no one ever says why. The reason his stomp is stronger is the magnetic boots triggers midair to bring down a stronger impact.
r q One specific shop ( in both 1 and 2 ) have a trigger for an enemy spawn, but only on the first time you go to it. And one specific bench has that too ( was even shown in the video )
Haha I'm glad I'm not the only one who experience this. It may be a random occurence because it didn't happen again after that. But I didn't trust shops for shit after that😂
I think, along with everything you said about Dead Space, one of THE BEST THINGS TO REMEMBER....is that Isaac is just a man, not we've seen "Just Men" take on impossible odds on their own before but he isnt a super human like The Master Chief he's not a security marine that got so fuck ass mad he kicks hell's face in every conceivable universe to the point he was becoming blessed and empowered by other entities he's a regular guy, an engineer! he didn't train for combat, he didn't train for psychic bs, he didn't prep for ANYTHING and has to use the equipment provided on hand to get through a nightmare! he is a common guy who managed to survive something noone else could, but he didn't get out of it without a scratch or two, isaac is FUCKED UP in the 2nd one, always double checking if what he's seeing is real or not and stuff like that.
Also like the main character from Condemned 1, who is just a normal beat cop who got framed for murder after a shift gone wrong, and goes on the run. Thats only the beginning of his journey into an urban nightmare. Somehow tho, between the excellent Condemned 1 and the weak Condemned 2, the main guy mysteriously transforms from some Puerto Rican looking guy, to a bearded white guy looking like a cross between Kurt Russel and Chuck Norris, and its still the same guy. I picked up Dead Space 1 for the first time last year and became so immersed and in love with the game I ended up picking up the 2nd and 3rd games on sale during the xbox summer sale event and ended up playing through the entire series with little breaks. I love dead space just cause how big the ship is it’s so damn small, every corner you always aim every dead body you see you shoot it or stomp on it, every character you interact with you are hoping they don’t die or don’t try to kill you, you’ll see a shadow figure in a door way then it’ll disappear, you’ll forget about it then it’ll come back. This game was fun as heck.
I think one of my favorite small details is the fact that Isaac has REALLY shitty posture, which makes sense for a guy hunched over for his job, repairing shit and just living. Good attention to detail.
Some headcannon for me at least is that the RIG is supposedly like 60-80 pounds with the whole suit on so I figured he was slouching from the weight. Such a good design too.
And additionally, I believe, the lower the health level the more hunched over Isaac actually is. Although it's unrelated to your comment Toki I think it's interesting nonetheless. One thing I always asked myself is; why does he speak in the second and third installment after all that sh*t Isaac has gone through in the original one.
lmao, this reminds me of the time my cousin was playing this for the first time, and he was all like - and this is, word for word I remember - "watch this be a breeze". and then I kid you not, about 5 seconds later, 3 of those things jumped out the hallway vents one by one, and 2 more came around the corner swinging like a Tasmanian devil. and my friend turned around like "oh fuck this, let's play something else". lmao, I will never forget that face he gave me.
When I first got DS1 I brought my old mate round to have a blast on it together, death for death style. Told him I found this sick new horror game that was actually scary (the last actually scary horror game I remembered was Condemned 1, yeeaars earlier). Booted it up and told him to have the 1st go, and there were some fireworks going off in someones backyard. After the first panic scene on the lift its all quiet, my guy takes a few steps forward then a firework goes off and he literally flies out the chair almost breaking his skull on my storage units! This shit made the game even better from then on.
Dead Space 1 and 2 are 2 of my favorite games ever and are both solid 10/10s. DS3 wasnt as great but it still had good lore and was interesting despite its more action and coop oriented style. Its a solid 8/10 for me but the first 2 are just uncontested in the genre and objective quality for their time and even by modern standards they hold up really really well.
I just picked this game up. It’s rare for a horror game to keep me playing. But this did. And oh my god the halo flood music goes over dead space gameplay so well
The best game in the series by far. I usually don't play horror games because my heart can't handle jump scares, but this game holds a very special place in my heart because it's premise fascinated me. RIP Visceral Games.
Act Man: We made it... I can't believe we made it! Man on screen: Son you just ran across the hall, let's not throw a party... Until we fix the ship. I died from laughter.
Yes, Dead Space was indeed a very good game, but it was not ahead of it's time. If anything, it was a little bit behind. It was more in line with Doom 3 and F.E.A.R., even Half Life 2, than with anything released after 2008.

Because Golden Eye? You can't remaster the nostalgia people manufacture from games with older graphics and mechanics. They replace the cracks in fractured memories with only the good feelings because that's simply what people do. It just was, will never be again, and any denial of it is really sad. I remember playing dead space 2 and by the time I returned to the ishimura I was low on health, I had like 5 shots in my plasma cutter, I had no money, and I had nothing else. For the majority of the walk through the ishimura I feel like I was reliving the horror I felt when I first entered it in the first dead space. I felt hopeless, I felt dread, I felt fear that I haven't felt since the first game. I find a broom that I can use with kinesis to impale the limbs. I slowly continue to scour the ship not finding anything realizing it has no supplies. And thats when I got to the big room with the two brutes, and several of the impaler babies and the suicide ones. I was very lucky with a couple of my shots with the broom to the suicide babies to decapitate the heads and use them against the brutes weak spot. I had a sliver of health left and somehow I finally managed to get them all using the brooms, the babies, and 3 of the 5 shots I had left. I managed to scrounge up some more ammo, health packs, and credits. That is the kind of fear I love to feel when I play games like that
@MasterStryfe 2 wasn't bad it added action yes but it still had a huge horror element to it, revisiting the Ishimura was fucking awesome. But part 3 was fucking terrible. With horror shooters there is a way you have to do them, action wasn't the problem it was the way it was done. If we look at FEAR 1 and 2 both are scary with tons of action, compare them to FEAR 3 and well it was nothing but action which is why FEAR 3 was trash.
@@black7844 I thought FEAR 3 was the best in the series. FEAR 1 just felt like a standard shooter with hardly any horror elements, while FEAR 2 spends far too much time in the hospital level. As for Dead Space, I have love for all three of them, including 3 but hey just an opinion

@No Go I mean it's a fair point but to me outerworlds felt like an oasis in a place where triple a devs can get away with shity business practices
@@josephstalin3586 comrade stalin I didnt know you were a fan of dead space
I feel Dead Space 1 had the best Suit Designs as well, and the natural progression of Isaac’s engineer Rig into full on Body Armor was great. Something the future games didn’t nail quite as well with the exceptions being the advanced suit and Arctic Survival suit in my opinion which had great aesthetic to them.
It would be cool if in The Dead Space Remake, instead of finding Suit Schematics, you would find them on the bodies of previous engineers who died during the Outbreak. Not a required change, but nonetheless would make the player feel more vulnerable and paranoid since even the strongest Rig wouldn’t be enough protection from the Necromorphs.
this is a really cool idea!
The suit would take up 1 inventory slot just like the schematic and then you can take it to the shop to fix using credits. It would still have you buy the RIG’s but it would look and feel so much better.
Would be a neat idea to improve upon the set dressing and immersion instead of all “pay money for upgrade” like your usual video game tropes.
I feel you, but I kinda see why the suits in Dead Space 3 look somewhat shitty is because your using 200 year old rigs rather than the modern in the year 2514.

Every chance you had to get near another character was like a psychological break from it, and you looked forward to it. That’s what made it so different for me. Also everything else was perfect.
Spot on what I felt, wish they could only remaster it now atleast
I really love how Dead Space, when looting you are almost always guaranteed ammo for the weapon you have equipped at that moment. Nice touch👌

the biggest reason why I like Isaac Clarke is simple, he has a gun and is scared and alone.

You know dead space 4 will have lootboxes and microtransaction as enemies.
I still think that Dead Space has some of the best world building in any videogame.

It has an atmosphere that keeps you tense all the way through. It feels like art, in a way. Since it accomplishes its goal so perfectly.
Even i do agree i still liked dead space 2 more than dead space 1
Dead Space 2 was pretty Good tho
personally I love Dead Space 2 more, but Dead Space 1 is better as far as atmosphere goes
