I myself am a proud Xterra owner. I have used Meguiars product for a few years now but to be honest i feel that the Mothers Back to Black trim restorer is a much better product for the Xterra.
Due to the weather conditions here in Chicago. I am unable to use plastic restorer. I used it on my 04 impala. The plastic faded after 1 year. So I had to paint the trim work. The paint is going on 3 years and still looks great!
I found this product before watching this video. It lasts about a month, so every time that I wax the vehicle I go through this. I love the look. After watching you paint your bumper, I plan on "blacking out" all of my plastics and roof rack.
+Todd Cercone (Always Learning) that's exciting! Send me a pic when you finish. I bet it will look good. I need to do something about my rook rack its peeling in spots.
I may record the whole process. Wish me luck.
Exciting! Share when you're done!
Eastwood Plastic Resurfacer is the way to go!
happy Holidays you are my guide my friend when I need to repair my xterra 2006 always I waiting the videos from than you so much
+Francisco Rodriguez you're welcome I'm glad you like them
Solution finish trim restorer is the absolute best there is on the market. It is amazing and makes the trim look satin factory fresh black.
That's what I use works great last pretty long here in Los Angeles CA
+Andres Valladares nice. I am pretty impressed with it.
Any update on how long it lasted?
I have had two Xterras in my life and I used this product on them both. My experience is looks fabulous when first applied. If no rain you are ok for longevity but if it rains the product runs off and the bumper starts to fade again.
Very informative. Product actually worked!
+Denise Fye Thanks I agree. I am usually pretty skeptical about this things but I was pretty impressed. Thanks for watching!
I've used this on my Xterra once. Sure, it looked a lot better, but it took several hours and only lasted a couple of weeks in the hot sun. One of these days, I'm going to paint all of those parts.
I plan to paint mine too. It will last much longer
ok Ry very good , thanks
I've used it on my Grand cherokee and it only lasts for a couple of weeks. Maybe if you keep up on it and do it regularly then it might last longer with each application. It does look great initially.
it does work with my xterra 06
Could you do this if you didn’t mind keeping it up ? Also can you paint after if you decide you don’t like it?
Of course! If you did this every couple weeks it would stay nice. Also you can paint it down the road since you have to sand it anyway. Have videos on that as well of you need it.
Hi, thank you for your videos. What was the effect over time. Are you satisfied with the results even after a few months? Is it worth it? Thank you
To be honest it faded too quickly for my liking. I ended up painting the plastics (multiple times). I have videos for those if you want to take a look at those.
RY Im impress the way the product work and I want to get it where I can find it I just need the name, and thanks for all your video help me a lot thanks my freind.
As of today, it's been about 3-1/2 years since you did this. How well did it hold up over time?
Not well. :) I ended up taking off all of the plastic and just painting. I have videos on that as well if you want to check it out.
@@Rythecarguy Did painting last?
RTCG, what state are you in sir?
Florida
@@Rythecarguy I am in in Alabama! i may come vivit one day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has anyone tried the hair dryer techniche?
Ry, got a question. the Xterra i got has leak it's coming for the roof rack but i just can't pin point it. the only reason I found out the passenger side seat belt was damp.
+J.R Rios honestly it could be the roof rack or it could be the track that runs down the side of the roof. Mine is starting to rust there and I'm worried mine will start leaking too. The only way to find it is to start taking parts off and see if you can find any obvious holes.
10-4 👍 I'll keep you posted what I Find.
would you ever plasti dip the bumpers? I think they make a dark gray color that would probably make them look new and would probably last longer than the plastic restorer
+Breaking Braddd I would certainly consider it.
This sounds a little cheap or stupid, but you should plasti dip the rims but leave the logo and lug nuts chrome and it looks amazing I is coming up on two years that I have done it and I still get complements on it to this day (I have the same stock rims as you on my 07)
By this I mean my idea not the plastic restorer because I actually do this every time I was my xterra
+Tristan B no that does not sound cheap. It's a nice way to refresh the look of the rim without going crazy on price. I might try it out!!
I did plastic dip all my plastic with Black base and Hyper Graphite Pearl, makes a ton of difference and much better than any of those products. I did try several of these restore products but sooner or later they will fade with weather and cleaning. It is much more expensive than a can of $10 and couple of hours of work but it also allows me to change color as I go.
Tristan B I did the same thing! Left the lug nuts and logo chrome and it looks so sick!!!
Not to mention it's an xterra in avalanche white... completely changes the look of the truck!
como se llama ese liquido y donde lo consigo lo venderan en auto zone in mexico o donde
My Xterra is 20 years old and bumpers looks horrid should I attemot this?
No
Ry, I want to black out my Xterra and want to paint the trim. Do you know how those side trim panels come off from the doors? They almost look snap on, I just don't want to yank and break something.
Depending on how long you want to wait but plan to do a video on this. Probably after i move back to Florida
Solution Finish is the best stuff on the market. Lasts about a year. $30 for a 12oz bottle.
Sounds promising. I'll try it on my other X.
Headlight restore? You think it actually works?
+Colt Webb for sure. My dad bought a project solstice and did the head lights. They look brand new! No joke. I plan to buy the same kit and do a video on it.
+Ry the car guy awesome!
you talk too much, just do it!
Nope, I’ll never stop talking ever.
