In the Dominican Republic they’ll bring their little shoe shine box it just happens to sit them right about the height of your pockets kids will gather around distract you. If you’re in the subway and you get bumped into check your wallet immediately. Keep people out of your personal space.

Still am not understanding why it is that on EVERY single credit or debit card transaction of any kind that a 4 or 5 digit pin number is required. This is such a simple step and it would eliminate almost 100% of credit/debit card fraud like this. Thieves could steal all the cards they want and they would be COMPLETELY useless without the pin number. What the hell am I missing here? Why has this not been done?
If I had to choose, I'd rather someone sneak off with and use my credit card with no pin required than stick a gun in my face and demand the pin.

Pickpocketing is still well and alive. Last October I was in the El Dorado Resort Casino in Reno, NV. After placing a bet in the Sports Book I went to the bar and ordered a drink. While I ordered someone came up behind me and lifted my wallet out of shoulder pouch. I immediately contacted the security staff and police who showed no interest at all. The theft put me in a very tough situation. Later I was told by another patron who was also victimized that pickpocketing happens regularly in that Casino. He called it a "den of thieves" . Now I carry my wallet in my front pocket.
They will be in jail for an hour and then be free.

This has once again become a common crime in NYC after all this time. Many times it occurs in a crowded subway car when the thief bumps up against you and excuses themselves. The DA in Manhattan, routinely cuts them loose with zero bond, They never show up for court after that. Not that that's so uncommon, he also does the same for violent felons.
