- Kansas City officials say at least 22 people were shot Wednesday near the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory parade. One person has died, and police detained three people in connection with the incident.

Nine children shot! You don't hurt kids, and you definitely don't shoot kids. Did anyone hear whether any kids have died so far? They only talk about the ones that were shot and still being treated. So, I am going to assume that those nine children are still alive. I hope that since they didn't give a count of kids who have died that hopefully none have died. Yes, the people who have hurt these children need to be hurt badly. In this case, I can not turn the other cheek. Sorry, but when you hurt kids, mercy goes out the window.

I remember going to the patriots Super Bowl parade almost exactly 20 years ago and remember how fun it was being in college. And that was just a few years after 9/11. Sadly now things are even scarier for some reason. I was in KC not to long ago for work, and thought it felt like middle America and enjoyed my time there. This is just sad

I am in my 70s, so is my spouse. I am a 3 x cancer survivor, my spouse has survived a widow maker heart attack. We attend a college football game with about 109,000 fans regularly over the past 50 years. There are metal detectors, heavy police presence, you can not take anything into the sports facilities and your body is scanned. I have never been afraid. What was done to enhance security at this huge event? How did shooters get guns into the area?
It was a parade. Exactly where would you put metal detectors to scan evreryone arriving to watcech or participate in that parade?

Having no access at certain points plus checking bags at entry points should be standard procedure. It’s like people bring guns to large events because they know absolutely no one will check. It’s awful to see this happening so frequently to innocent people. They did nothing to deserve this. I hope everyone fighting to survive makes it. Some people should not have guns. I am a gun owner but do not carry all the time. I do if going through a high crime area. I keep weapon near while at home,we live in a rural county setting. There is hunting in the area and have been some home invasions. Those were usually a city person who moved to the country and their problems followed. Usually life time country people don't get bothered. Yes I have a safe and all valuables and guns beside the one I keep the other my wife's are kept out. We are both very efficient on placing shots.

That scene at 12:52 is kind of strange. Someone is unconscious, or dead, and being carried away, not on a gurney, by 3 people who none of them is visibly a police officer -- carrying them off the scene. Whatever the scenario was they werent being gentle at and the way they had the body slung, is not appropriate for an EMT to be doing. So, what the hell was that?
Interesting but sad what took place, security wasn't that tight because there were individuals with guns and with all the LEO around, there were still shots fired. Am sure the shooters were probably not the law-abiding type. NYC they check bags before you go in a pen, and don't let people roam around.

And this is why I no longer attend any big social gatherings. Too many folks out there who have zero care for human life. Ya can’t go literally anywhere these days and feel safe. Church of all places, school too, malls, grocery stores, marathons, parades, concerts, and it goes on n on. We are barely safe in our own homes. This isn’t a Republican thing, that’s B.S. it’s not even a political issue at all in my opinion. I’m not sure what has happened to our country since the first school shooting that I remember, that being Columbine. Since then it has just compounded and now is an everyday occurrence in our country. No one no matter how much power they hold seems to know any answer to get this handled, and they probably never will. So sorry for everyone that has been affected by this tragedy today, sad that we have become desensitized to these happenings for the pure fact that it happens so frequently, it seems as tho we almost expect it on a daily basis.
