    Bro I’m an American, and I damn near spit my coffee out laughing at the the American kids joke. I’m weak as f. But bro, you can’t be mad at us for fearing your country’s wildlife, it’s a stark contrast in terms of what we have in the spider department. As far as the shootings comment, we wouldn’t be Americans if we didn’t have guns my dude. Everyone always bangin on the Americans about their guns but nobody complains about it when the wolfs at the door. We love Australians over here bro, why yall always looking to hate on us for some reason pmaoo😂😂. No, but seriously tho, I love your videos my man. I binge them frequently. I mean, nearly every country has its fair share of wacky and dangerous wildlife. I just find it odd how Australia gets singled out every time, even though nearly everything dangerous here could be fended off with a stick, and avoided by simply taking a step back. Can't say the same about hazardous animals overseas.

    How the heck is your channel only at 26k subs! It's so informative and easy to understand, well put together and logical.
    You can see right away with the spider that it's rearing up in self defense saying GTF away from me or it'll be bad for you.. If you in turn came face to face with a Grizzly bear or any other large pred from the US you wouldn't get a warning like the spider is giving you would just be mauled. Almost every spider bite that happens is in self defense, maybe the spider crawled inside your shoe/boot and you didn't shake it out properly when camping, or you're unfortunate enough to have one in your house and you almost roll over on it in the middle of the night and it bites in self defense thinking you're attacking it or something, but I don't think I have ever heard about or read about a spider just hunting for a human to bite, that's why I don't like the way Coyote presents his bites, he is forcing these creatures to bite/sting him, you can see with a couple of his sting videos he literally has to press the insect down on his almost crushing it to get it to sting/bite him, I get he's trying to document stings/bites but there's got to be a better way, either way keep up the amazing, informative content. Also as an American I love this channel, and while i will say getting through school was tough, I had to learn to dodge bullets like neo from the Matrix but it was worth it for the cat like reflexes I have now haha!

    Now that's out of the way, my biggest issue with the "Australia is dangerous" tag is that it is equally interesting to say we have a lot of the most venomous creatures in the world. Which isn't an exaggeration. Add that to largest species of crocodillian, the big 3 sharks (which let's face it, most countries bordered by water have to some degree) and my personal favourite most dangerous bird and that's your opening! Why do we need do make it sound like Australia is the Hunger Games?

    • @BugsandBiology
      @BugsandBiology  3 роки тому +3

      Except that isn't really the case. Many of our most venomous animals have very out of the way habits. Such as nearly every funnelweb species except Atrax robustus, most of our snake species, plus nearly all of our dangerous aquatic animals. And the fact that they don't perceive humans as prey (with the exception of crocodiles, which have a very localized distribution in Australia) reduces the risk even further; if an animal possesses the ability to kill but lacks the incentive, the danger is greatly lowered. There's a reason Australia's native animals account for only a minority of recorded animal related deaths annually.
      Now compare this to Africa and South America, where wild animals not only run into locals more often, but there are far more large carnivores that can perceive humans as prey (not to mention big herbivores prone to charging, like Rhinos and Hippos).

They're also one of the most terrifying creatures i've ever laid my eyes upon. @@BugsandBiology I'll re-Subscribe on the assumption you erred innocently with that comment and not out of intent. Please remember, 99% of the people around the world are the same-we want to get along and respect each other. Don't let a few bad-apple Yanks make you think we're all like that. I try not to judge any other people by some of the comments I read in YT, because those who comment the most are probably not the best representatives of any society. Incidentally, I just retired recently but I was a researcher who traveled the world nearly half the time. I've been everywhere, but never made it to two spots-Australia and India. COVID interrupted my plans to visit those two nations. Hopefully I can make it as the pandemic eases, but on vacation this time instead of bid-ness. You have a fascinating nation, the diversity and uniqueness in your animal life is amazing. My career was spent researching technical topics, but my passion for natural sciences can now be attended to better. Your material is very good, keep up the good work. Peace.

      Thanks, really appreciate it.
      I'll admit I did make another poor-taste joke about the same topic in another video (can't remember which one), and you've honestly made me feel quite bad about it. So thanks again for changing my perspective and letting me know when my dry humor goes too far.

    I'm from England. If you Google the top 10 deadliest, They all live in Australia. However I do agree that in terms of getting killed by humans, then the USA and south africa are top

      Top 10 lists are basically all clickbait and inaccurate.
      Also, top 10 what? Spiders? Snakes? Animals in general?
      Hippos alone kill more people every year than have been killed by all Australian animals combined in over a decade. And most deaths from Australian animals aren’t even from native wildlife, they’re caused by horses, cows and dogs.
