As long as they make sense in the story, I love seeing connecting characters. Bo-Katan was part of the Mandalorian’s story (because she’s a mandalorian, obviously), so when Din asks about finding a Jedi of course she’s going to recommend Ahsoka. She trusts and knows Ahsoka, who was a Jedi as far as she knew.
Agreed, it was better that she was in there to make Din question his past and his creed about removing there helmets. I over all don't have an issue with cameos so long as they aren't overused
Yeah my big issue there is the level of coincidence that led to finding Bo. Like the woman on Tatooine that mando met twice just happens to be playing cards with an ant that knows someone who’s husband has seen some mandalorians that just so happen to include bo Katan
I’ve never thought the “small universe” thing was a problem, but recently I’ve been reading a lot of nonfiction, and it’s surprising (to me anyway) how often people and subjects “crossover” on different books. For example, I read King Leopold’s Ghost and major figures from that book and the occupation of the Congo have come up in two or three books I’ve read since then. I’m reading a book about the Chicago World’s Fair in the 1890s and it casually mentions how one of the construction workers was Walt Disney’s dad. Point being major figures in history, which the main characters in Star Wars are, have a way of effecting a lot of events, directly and indirectly.
Another interesting part of history where important figures "crossed over" was around 1913. Multiple important historical figures Hitler, Stalin, Trotsky, Tito, and Freud all lived in Vienna. All of these important figures in history lived in a 5 square KM area and could have met each other as a couple of these figures even frequented the same coffee houses. I too do not think the small universe thing is a problem as the same stuff happens in real life more often than we think.
*STAR WARS DOES NOT HAVE A SMALL GALAXY ISSUE* Let me explain: celebrities here on earth know other celebrities cause their status of being famous makes it easier to know about each other. Ryloth only has a select few people everyone knows about like the senator, the syndullas, etc. Of course the bad batch interacts with these characters cause they are famous, easy to know about and most likely hold power, that's why the empire targets them. Think back at the episode with the separatist senator. On the other hand, many people know sid and Sid knows many people, now she has a elite clone commando working for her, the bad batch is probably her best team for harder jobs like finding a commando droid (also a high value target), it makes total sense. There is no small galaxy problem
Do you think Hera and Kanan ever talked about the bad batch? I think that’d be a really interesting conversation given the circumstances of how they both met them
One thing to remember is that the vast majority of the galaxy's people live out almost their whole lives on one planet, possibly in one region. They sell shoes, work at shops, or a farm, work in an office cubical, etc. And they go to places on the weekend in their area to relax. Maybe they take a vacation offworld or tour another system a few times if they are well off. That means that the people who fly around and hang out in spaceports are a small subculture of spacers. This makes it more likely these kinds of characters will run across one another more often than one would think. It would be like if you were a business executive in oil and gas traveling the world, but always going to conventions and events where oil and gas executives were likely to be.
The small galaxy complaint doesn't even really make sense to me. Almost all the characters we meet are important: leaders, children of leaders, people who are the only People who can do the thing that needs doing. It's like complaining that celebrities or world leaders know each other.
@@DoctorDeath147 not really. The only real difference is the galaxy is a larger scale & more people- but because of similarly advanced travel it isn’t that large of a leap In logic to assume that the small percent of people who are Important in the galaxy would associate & run into each other. Especially not when they all share a common enemy, the Empire
Q&A: What Legends ship or costume designs would you like to see incorporated into Canon? Personally I want to see some of the Jedi and Sith outfits from The Force Unleashed games used as inspiration for characters in the Canon version of The Old Republic era.
I want to see the Chiss Clawcraft show up in the Mandoverse. There is also another ship that I keep calling the clawcraft but it has another name even though it looks like an actual open hand claw.
Definitely some Old Republic or Sith warships (An Inexpugnable-class I want to see in particular) as either museum ships, wreckage, or maybe even still operating after thousands of years.
Considering in Real Life Stalin , Hitler and Freud all lived in the same neighbourhood and went to the same Café at a certain point , no , it is not too small . Especially considering the Force clearly wants to tie certain people together .And they all meet in places where they are established to spend their time or they are hot spots of activity .
As I recall, prior to the release of Ep.1 the Star Wars Expanded Universe had also defined Palpatine as being a former Senator. Except the EU had Palpatine coming from Corellia, not a new planet named Naboo.
But then again everyone wanted Boba Fett vs. Cad Bane in the series to happen... Which has nothing to do with the Bad Batch story. People don't know what they want. Gone pretty quick from "We want this cameo and that cameo" to "Nah, too much cameos. Small galaxy" Lol
I wouldn't say people don't know what they want, im pretty sure the star wars Fandom is the most vocal about things that they want to see. I think that allot of fans just want to see the stories of the unfinished clone wars episodes including the Cad Bane and Boba showdown and see the bad batch as the only means of getting those stories after the clone wars was canceled. And I think that it does it some way puts a damper on future stories like you point out, fans will keep getting there hopes up of potentially seeing these unfinished arcs occur in places where they could maybe make a little sense of happening like in the bad batch and then both the fans are disappointed for not getting to see what they wanted too and the writers frustrated that people are too busy speculating about things completely unrelated to the story they want to tell. I think the best solution would be for Disney to finish and release the unfinished episodes into another lost missions type season. Not only would it make some things in clone wars make more sense like how maul escaped sidious for people who haven't read son of dathomir, but it would also bring closure to any clone wars Era story and let people move on to new stories like the Bad Batch.
These aren't *Lost Missions.* I'd say the best solution is to put it in the storyline where it fits best. Leave it out of *The Clone Wars.* It didn't fit in the timeline there. *Son of Dathomir* happens so much closer to ANH, it wouldn't fit in the timeline there either. We'll get them both and more. Just have patience. Delayed gratification has some benefits, such as more appreciation for when it does happen and a better story...
@@DaleESkywalker I think you mixed something up Son of Dathomir happens during the clone wars its the story of how Mauls mandalorians freed him from Sidious imprisonment and him confronting Grevious and Dooku as well as showing the death of Mother talzin. I think what you're thinking of is twin sun's which is another great Maul story. And I know that the bad batch isn't lost missions what I'm saying is the stories that everyone is trying to shove into different shows like Cad Bane and Bobas showdown or Dark disciple or the crystal crises arc should be made and released so people will stop trying to fit them anywhere that even mildly seems like they could fit. What I'm saying is that a lost missions type season similar to season 6 of the clone wars could be done again to fit all of these stories in the clone wars where they were written to be placed instead of people demanding the writers implement them elsewhere where they would make little sense and just be fan service
@@brycebaggoo5388 Yeah, that's the way it was portrayed, but it was just George trying to stuff everything into TCW to tell the story. I know people are going to be upset with changes, but when it makes a better story, it makes sense to put it somewhere else. There are still Mandalorians who support Maul after TCW.
@@DaleESkywalker I agree when it makes for a better story then all power to them, but I think the fear is that it won't make for a better story. I think people are afraid that the writers won't implement something like Cad Bane vs Boba into the Bad batch as organically as it was originally designed to go down in the clone wars and will just come across as fan service so everyone will stop anticipating these moments and focus on the story the writers are actually trying to tell with the bad batch. Im not saying they are never allowed to change anything what I'm saying is if they really can't find a way to have these stories occur organically within other shows then Disney should avoid the potential backlash of a subpar story and unnecessary stress on the writers and just release it where they were originally conceived to be told, within the clone wars. Also I know there are still Mandolorians loyal to Maul, I don't see what that has to do with anything? You said before that Son of Dathomir happens closer to a new hope and you're wrong it occurs during the clone wars I think what you are thinking of is Twin Sun's that occurs around 5 years before a new hope.
This is basically the issue, if you can call it that. The fandom complains about the cameo of the week (myself included) but yet are also constantly trying to connect characters together and wanting to see them all interact with each other.
I was talking about this earlier today. I think that a 1 or 2 movie story on screen would be a great way to tell it. I started rewatching rebels and hearing Kallus and Zeb talk about it made me go PLEASE GIVE ME THIS STORY!!!!!! I can see ideas of story and visuals of what I'd do if I were able to tell that story.
@@lightspeedbear yisus people can't be satisfied, who cares if we see star wars characters in a star wars show? Isn't that one of the reasons we wanted this show? To see known characters adapting to the dark times?
q&a: Instead of a death trooper, could Crosshair become one of the first dark trooper subjects, as we heard the first batch had humans inside? Also due to his injury perhaps making him a bit sloppier than before and thus seems to struggle with catching the Bad Batch
Here is why Visions is incredibly exciting. They have an empty Star Wars sandbox, can dump out any star wars toys they want..... and create anything they want in any time period the creators want...... minimizing "A small Galaxy" and really pushing out the boundaries of what can be explored, be it "the force" proper stories or various stories with limited scope within the crevices of the Star Wars universe. I hope they have multiple seasons, since this is truly going to be exciting stuff and dare I say the best Star Wars content during the Disney era.
The episode run time is really because they know how to budget it since it costs more to animate new scenes then it does to do with live action. I also think in a year or two the show will pop up on the Disney Channel.
For me, personally, the best year of _Star Wars_ was 2015. The revitalisation of the franchise was what led me to start watching lore videos, reading comics and books, and becoming a "hardcore" fan. _The Force Awakens_ is the first _Star Wars_ film I saw in a cinema, and I remember feeling so privileged to live in a time where _Star Wars_ came back. It's also the only time I've seen a _Star Wars_ film in the cinema without knowing how bitter and divided the fanbase can be. I knew a lot of people didn't like the prequels, but after TFA I discovered just how angry fans could get. Each time I've gone to the cinema since, I've been progressively less excited, because I know the film will be hated no matter what, and I'll have to see that hatred for years on end.
Honestly I feel like that hatre has died down alot since the last SW film 2 years ago. Alot of focus has been on The Mandalorian, Clone Wars and Bad Batch. All have relatively good responses to them. Not to mention the Star Wars showswe are getting in the coming years.
@@floriang2801 I remember hearing people complain about it being unnecessary, the characters being uninteresting, and Disney trying to win people back for the Sequel Trilogy by setting a film closer to the Original Trilogy.
Honestly, you have to learn to tune out the fanbase and just go into a movie with an open mind, only caring about what your initial reaction to the film was and never letting that go. I remember seeing The Last Jedi in theaters and absolutely loving it, then feeling the whiplash of seeing how controversial it was to people on the internet. It’s a bizarre feeling, but I made sure to keep hold of that initial experience of love for the film and to this day, it helps me keep myself when navigating this fandom.
I like when Padme tells C3PO 'that it is a big galaxy beyond the several billion planets you know' in Nomad Droids. Leia appearing and saving Han, Luke and Chewie from a crowd of unknown Ewoks, Wicket being a friendly face to relate to. Hero Clones, hero Orcs etc help focus on the masses of armies and people yet more 'cantina scenes' to showcase Planets and their populations/ Exogol fleets would be cool.
Most important year or era for Star wars was the special edition era, when the films were re released in cinemas which launched the franchise all over again and its stayed strong since, after Jedi in 83 star wars did move aside for a long while and wasn't as big as it was, the special edition era was so important to bring the franchise back into the world at the time and as a fan it was the best time ever! Merchandise literally everywhere, shops ( when we had them ) full with everything you could imagine with Star wars, just amazing
Q: I’ve got Galaxy’s Edge on the mind. My oldest kiddo and I spent a lot of time this vacation asking the Batuu residents for backstory about the planet, the outpost, their stores / restaurants, the sunsets, etc. We learned, for example, that Arta the tailor-seamstress, has bolts of fabric on reserve for projects for Lando, Jabba, and Gaya. If there was an anthology show set on Batuu that could feature existing main, supporting, or background characters across any point in the timeline, who do you think might have a great story to tell about their brief time on Batuu?
There's no way Biggs was NOT at Scarif. The timeline is way too close. Episode IV takes place IMMEDIATLEY following that battle, and Luke gets to Yavin within a few days following that battle. Biggs is already established enough within Red Squad that him vouching for Luke is good enough to convince Dries/Red Leader that Luke's up for the job. As much as we take on faith in Star Wars, I just don't see "Hey, I know I just joined up yesterday myself, but trust me, this kid is really good!" "Oh, well, in that case...."
In regards to the small galaxy issue... there are people (even in my own city) that I'll never cross paths with... but then I've had 2 instances in my traveling days when I'd bump into people I knew when visiting both Paris and Bangkok. So... realistically, a galaxy-wide tale should have far fewer crossover moments... but many fans want and demand that, so... it is what it is. I keep doing what 'Qui-Gon Jinn' advised and let my focus (enjoyment, serenity, inspiration) determine my reality. 😊 Thanks, Mollie! Thanks, Alex!
I cant see how ppl can be disappointed seeing fan fav characters. Ppl complain its fan service or feeling small, but why not just enjoy it? Its so cool seeing Luke and Ahsoka in Mando, and adding another chapter to their story. Thats like saying u dont like sw at that point
As far as show length, I think your thoughts about being consistent with CW and general attention spans are probably valid. But also anytime a story is broken up in the middle, it introduces a chance for a cliffhanger. Especially for a show released weekly, while also making shows much more bingeable later. Few of us can watch any piece of those CW story arcs without having to watch them all the way through...
The bad batch could definitely work as an hour-1hour 10 mins episodes like the first episode was. 2 and 3 are the post Kamino episodes, 4-6 are them becoming mercenaries and starting work for Cid. 7-9 is the Rex/Cad Bane arc and 10-12 is the Raxxus/Ryloth arc.
The episode lengths I think are done that way for padding IMO. They have only a bit of new content to bring out over the course of a whole year, be it Star Wars, Marvel, etc. Especially when Disney+ doesn’t release in a binge friendly manner
Yes, and it does detract from a bit of the expansive feel of the galaxy. While it does let us see our fun characters interact, it also robs us of new characters that new fans and old fans alike could fall in love with. Like everyone else is saying though, it’s not a big issue at all. Especially since TBB is a spin off, as said at the beginning of the episode
Here's how I see "small galaxy" We're following important characters in the galaxy - and if they didn't meet other important characters, we wouldn't follow their story?
The first episode will probably be shown exclusively there, like they did for Resistance season 2, but the season will be shown to the public on Disney Plus a couple months later, probably after Kenobi and Andor but before Mando season 3
@@echobase5774 The animated shows, I see them being on a different schedule then live action so they will air while a live action show is going on. Disney+ are going to have plenty of live action Marvel and Star Wars shows to space things out in order to have a series on once a week all year long. Also don't forget season 1 started on May 4 I can see them delaying next season for Celebration.
I will never forget seeing Star Wars in the theater when it was re-released. To actually sit in a theater and watch the opening scroll as my parents had done twenty years before...truly awesome. Same with spending my 16th birthday in the theater for Episode 1. Might not be my favorite SW movie by far, but the experience of a NEW SW movie for MY generation?!
The Bad Batch doesn't necessarily suffer from seeing familiar characters in each episode, in a way it makes sense since this is the transition from The Republic to The Empire so we see how other characters (and planets as well) are handling that in the early days. I think what The Bad Batch suffers from is lack of character development with the members of Clone Force 99. More so I wish we got more individual episodes of each of the characters so they have their time to shine for their specialty and kinda get more of an idea of what's going on with them on a personal level. Heck I would have loved more of a conversation between Echo and Rex when they met up on how they are handling the revelation of the inhibitor chips and their new roles after the war too.
Being a child growing up with the OT, I feel the 90's was an awesome time of SW resurgence. '91 had the beginning of Zahn/Thrawn trilogy then other novels to expand the universe, POTF2 toys/action figures in '95, Shadows of the Empire, the '97 release/updates of the OT "Special" editions, then the build up/hype for the prequels/Phantom Menace in '99. Then the internet happened and everyone was able to share their opinions... 🤔🙄 But otherwise, I say that for me, the '90's was an awesome decade for SW to begin ramping up to what we have now. I am glad that things have not stopped happening, "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."
Q and A: Alex and Molly, who would you cast to play some of the main characters of the High Republic Era such as Bell, Stellan, Avar, Elzar, Marchion, Ty, Chancellor Soh, etc.
They would probably just need a Bacta shot to deal with the virus but besides that the younglings would have been taken off world to somewhere they could completely bubble off from everyone else.
I don't think it's small when the entire timeline is set between TPM and TROS. Which cover 67 years in universe. Palpatine and his Empire are predominantly the antagonists of pretty much the entire galaxy. Everything really has to intertwine from that point. It feels more like people are just prone to wanting to bicker and complain about anything with the label of "Star Wars" on it.
Given the Space Opera nature of things, it's probably best to treat the Galaxy more like a planet, and planets more like cities. Very rarely do you go to a planet and visit multiple locations, even across the movie and shows. If you're going to Bespin, you're going to Cloud City, if you're Kamino, you're going to Tipoca City, if you're going to Tatooine, you're gonna end up at Mos Eisley or the Lars Homestead, it's just kind of how it works. Although the more you do visit a certain place, the more variety you do find. For instance, with Tatooine, we do have a bunch of different locations, but they are still in decent reach of one another for the most part. Tatooine, Lothal, Naboo, even the forest moon of Endor if you want to include Legends, there's multiple places, but only by revisiting places do you get more expansion on them. For story purposes in characters running into others, it's also just easier to reuse some of them. It helps flesh out the characters and you do get to tell better stories than constantly having to reintroduce who everyone is. If someone is good at a certain thing, I see no harm in them showing up in the story so long as it makes sense. Is it convenient? Yeah, but it also lets the story be faster and more intense.
Q: Does SW have a “small ‘pockets’ of the galaxy problem” where, as you say, the animated shows are all being tied closely together, or the books are, or the shows seem to be, etc.? Seems like there’s almost a Filoni-verse within greater SW storytelling, and wonder if you think this limits story and experience possibilities as we focus on the CV’s / resumes / portfolios of one or a few creators or give them more “control” over the stories told about “their” characters, for example.
Harrison Ford is 79 years old. (as of a couple days ago, July 13th.) It's definitely time he relaxed a bit, and let somebody else put on a grey wig and a brown leather jacket and do his stunts, at least. He's certainly had a stellar, long career, and has earned himself a little time off. Enjoy life, retire! You've earned it, man. 👍
A lot of the recurring characters we see are pretty important galactic figures or adventurers who get around a lot so it’s not such a stretch that we seen them in frequent appearances. I will say that I always love to see more characters especially nonhuman characters take bigger roles
Q&A: do you think the bad batch shuttle will be in galaxy of heroes, like all the other main charaters ship like the ghost, millennium falcon, Lando's millennium falcon, razor crest, U-wing and Rey's millennium falcon
The bad batch producers are also probably used to the 22ish minute length, cause they used it most of the time for rebels and Clone Wars, maybe they'll have more variation as it goes on.
With Crosshair now hunting the Bad Batch, do you think there's a chance some of them might not make it to the end of the season or the end of the show?
They will probably survive season 1, but I can see other major characters like Howzer. If any major character dies, it will probably be near the end of the show, like in Rebels
Q: Been having a blast the last 5 days at the CA Disney parks with my family, and was lucky enough to ride “Rise of the Resistance” all four days we were visiting Disneyland. The storytelling on this ride is, in true Disney Imagineering and Lucasfilm fashion, ON POINT. Knowing whatever you may know about the ride’s story, what would you like to say to or ask the cast members who take on the roles of First Order officers that you get to interact with. (We had a ton of fun interacting with them, and they fully stay in character like LARPing die hards.)
The Clone Wars was a passing mention in A New Hope. What other events or characters mentioned in the films would you like to see fleshed out in the canon? I'd like to see the other armies the Kaminoans created before the Jango clones.
I remember getting to go see A New Hope in theaters for the first time...I was only 2 when SW came out in '77 but I got to see ESB and RoTJ first run....and '94 was my senior year.
In a galaxy with trillions of beings, it is weird that characters keep running into each other though. I can excuse Luke in the Mandalorian because Grogu sent a signal for a Jedi and there are not that many left but the stuff with Hera felt like pure fan service.
The factory on Ryloth is going to be important for the Bad Batch in some way so really Hera works as a case of convenience for the writers to kill two birds with one stone.
@@arvelcrynyd6311 Pretty sure millions of individuals lead interesting lives. They are just not getting stories centered on them because people like to see familiar faces.
Q&A: (Potential Spoilers for Light of the Jedi and The Rising Storm?) Do you think the elderly San Tekka navigator that Marchion Ro uses to chart the paths is force sensitive as it implies she was communicating with Loden whilst he was imprisoned. Also: Do we think she’s aware of Ro’s plans since she was seemingly giving Loden instructions and talking about Ro to him, whereas in Light of the Jedi she seemed oblivious to the criminal acts and assumed they were selling the path charts to guilds / organisations / the republic.
It's normal to think it's a small Galaxy, but that's not entirely true. The story is heavily based in a small number of huge conflicts like the Clone Wars, the dark times, the Civil War... And almost all these connected characters we revisit in different series that have those conflicts as major plot or as background are directly involved in them. So it's only natural we revisit, connect and have the feeling of small Galaxy. It's a huge galaxy but we are focusing a lot in those conflicts and players.
How did you not mention 1977? I was born that year so I didn’t get to see the first Star Wars movie in the theater for the first time. Imagine how awesome that would be.
Regarding the short Bad Batch episodes, it could be that the existing production pipelines for the animators is optimised for 30ish minutes. Just an idea.
I just really loved seeing a live action Ahsoka and loved seeing Luke come back obviously. I can’t complain seeing my favorite characters on screen but I also love seeing new eras/new people as well
I figure the BB episode lengths have more to do with the animation team’s established way of working going back to Clone Wars. The storytellers and writers seem familiar and comfortable with a certain style of storytelling, and they’ve already figured out how to match that with the production schedule needs of the modelers, animators, voice talent, sound designers, etc. I suspect Visions will be more varied given the diversity of talent involved. I’m personally finding the CW-Rebels-Resistance-BB school of SW animation a little long in the tooth and want to see new life breathed into SW animation.
They are all established characters in the SW story. That last episode is clearly showing background story. It only seems like a small galaxy because we have only seen these characters in separate intervals. Also there a plenty of characters who don’t know of eachother and also some who don’t even know of the Jedi or the sith.
First fans ask if so-and-so would show up in this series, or "how come so-and-so wasn't in this? That sucks!" Now they are asking if we have a small galaxy problem. Make up your minds fans.
When it comes to Star Wars fans, I’m like ryan gosling in the notebook asking the fans “WHAT DO YOU WANT?” They need to have gratitude that we are getting more star wars on D+.
You're logic assumes it's the same people asking these questions. But both sets of opinions are right to be asked. I want to see things connected but I can also see how limited in scope they're currently keeping stories located.
The issue is that they are really bad at selling you a wider galaxy. They are also making all these connections because the plan is to have a massive multimedia crossover at the end of this arc they are building up to. Where we'll see all of these characters come together for the grand finale.
For season 2 of the Mandalorian it was quite prevalent for me. Mando felt like the side character of his own show. Where the first season had his backstory and development, season 2 was mainly about his tour of cameos. I still loved it don't get me wrong. But seeing it happening in the Bad Batch is a little annoying for me.
The Force connects all living things, even some droids like R2D2 and C-3PO. It pulls those destined for greater things together so its will may be done
From what I've seen (post-2008 era), I thought 2015 was one of the best years for Star Wars. So much anticipation for the new movies and sooo many good comics (Darth Vader & Star Wars). I loved those first volumes a lot. The new canon went into drive and Rebels was building up to the great Season 2 finale (which came to pass in 2016).
Maybe when geogre lucas passes away? But if not nope. It such an expansive world I wouldn't be surprised if 50 years down the line the way star wars is viewed changes and the skywalker saga won't be as big of a deal
Star Wars is a major franchise putting out many forms of media every year with no signs of slowing down. The Skywalker saga and stuff like the Clone Wars are over, but Star Wars will never end. The reason why is that every generation since 1977, Star Wars has been a big part of them. Star Wars has been passed down for generations.
Hera did reference that clones did help her in Rebels. Did some people forget that? Y'all know Jon and David want the fans to enjoy the shows that they are producing.
I think the "small galaxy" question is more pointing out that it's rather convenient that the bad batch keep ending up "coincidently" on the same planet as crosshair by accident.
I forgot to like this video. And now I'm getting the retribution for lurking the first time, because I'm only reliasing it 15 minutes in :D Oh well, now I can listen until the end.
I would love to see more Indiana Jones movies with a recast, but I recognise how difficult that would be to pull off. So instead I want someone to figure out the formula that will allow them to make a new pulp hero that can have a series that is at least equal to the Mummy movies at a minimum. I have my own thoughts on how to do that, but I have no way to manifest them.
Okay, I know the art on Mollie’s shirt is from something, but I just can’t place it. Mollie’s whole look here is fantastic, btw. The tank top really compliments her hair/makeup. But seriously, what’s that shirt from?
The same people who say Star Wars has a “small galaxy” problem are the same people who ask “why wasn’t ___ in the movies when they introduce new characters. IE Ahsoka, Thrawn, All of the Ghost Crew.
I agree. I'd also like to point out that how and why these characters meet matters. There has only been one instance where a cameo made the Galaxy feel a little small, but otherwise I see the circumstances behind the meeting and I'm like yeah, it makes sense that these characters would meet
I think if the Bad Batch had an actual goal I wouldn't mind the cameos. But right now their goal is just to hide from the Empire (which they are not doing well).
In all fairness as galaxies and planets go (IRL) the Star Wars galaxy and planets are tiny. Also it’s ryloth and we were dealing with the “royalty” witch of course links to Hera
I think the balance could be better. u want these worlds to be interconnected but I feel like the rate its going might make the galaxy feel small eventually
The other option is to constantly introduce new characters only to immediately get rid of them, which is fine but that’s more what Star Trek did for years other than DS9
I agree. As long it seems handled in an organic way I have no problem with it
Yes!
@@theorooney1319 How would you have written it?
Huh, VERY interesting
@Behind the Magic indeed!
Thank you. I was going to explain it this way.
Do you think Hera and Kanan ever talked about the bad batch? I think that’d be a really interesting conversation given the circumstances of how they both met them
as much as I want to think they did, I get the feeling they didn’t talk about their past much given what they both went through sadly
For me I dont really have a problem with it. Historically most Epic have seem to have something. It normal for large story telling.
You can't really compare the size of one planet to an entire galaxy
To build on that, I don’t think it’s far fetched to believe that the force brings these people together, more often.
That's a false equivalency
You can't compare Earth to a massive galaxy
@@DoctorDeath147 not really. The only real difference is the galaxy is a larger scale & more people- but because of similarly advanced travel it isn’t that large of a leap In logic to assume that the small percent of people who are Important in the galaxy would associate & run into each other. Especially not when they all share a common enemy, the Empire
@@arvelcrynyd6311 And then when some 'randos' we've met do get a return, a la the Martez sisters, the same people bring up the 'small galaxy' crap.
Q&A: What Legends ship or costume designs would you like to see incorporated into Canon?
Personally I want to see some of the Jedi and Sith outfits from The Force Unleashed games used as inspiration for characters in the Canon version of The Old Republic era.
Yes!! I'd love to see the Dark Lord Starkiller outfit be used for an Ancient Sith Marauder
I want to see the Chiss Clawcraft show up in the Mandoverse. There is also another ship that I keep calling the clawcraft but it has another name even though it looks like an actual open hand claw.
I want to see the old republic troop armour made canon.
both the red and the orange version
Definitely some Old Republic or Sith warships (An Inexpugnable-class I want to see in particular) as either museum ships, wreckage, or maybe even still operating after thousands of years.
I don’t mind so long as there is a good mix between new characters and preexisting characters
Now I want an "It's a Small Galaxy After All" ride at Galaxy's Edge...
The lyrics are already written for it too. In The Rising Storm they sing a song at the Republic Fair xD

Q/A: What are your pitches for a Star Wars What if?
I would love to see a version where Luke and Leia are raised by Anakin and Padme.
Could be fun to see one where Han and Luke’s roles were swapped. One where Order 66 was prevented, and one where Kylo never fell to the dark side.
what if maul hadnt killed qui gon jinn
I’d love to see what would’ve happened if Rey turned to the Dark Side

Comparing one planet to a galaxy
Seeing Ryloth makes me wonder if we’ll see the fall of the Lasat homeworld. It could be interesting to see Zeb at a VERY different stage of his life.
This is basically the issue, if you can call it that. The fandom complains about the cameo of the week (myself included) but yet are also constantly trying to connect characters together and wanting to see them all interact with each other.
Zeb is annoying

Yes!

Did Rogue One get hated by a big part of the fandom? I don’t think they get hated no matter what.
Honestly I feel like that hatre has died down alot since the last SW film 2 years ago. Alot of focus has been on The Mandalorian, Clone Wars and Bad Batch. All have relatively good responses to them. Not to mention the Star Wars showswe are getting in the coming years.

I remember hearing people complain about it being unnecessary, the characters being uninteresting, and Disney trying to win people back for the Sequel Trilogy by setting a film closer to the Original Trilogy.
The like 2014-2015 Hype Era was the best man. It was when I felt the “Star Wars magic” the most.
Q&A: Do you think that Omega's strategic thinking skills would be useful against Thrawn?
Yes but only if he doesn't have a lot of past data on her.
Merchandise literally everywhere, shops ( when we had them ) full with everything you could imagine with Star wars, just amazing
yeah i agree, so many people who had never seen the films on the big screen went to see them and that became their defining "star wars moment"
For me it’s when TFA came out

Q: I’ve got Galaxy’s Edge on the mind. My oldest kiddo and I spent a lot of time this vacation asking the Batuu residents for backstory about the planet, the outpost, their stores / restaurants, the sunsets, etc. We learned, for example, that Arta the tailor-seamstress, has bolts of fabric on reserve for projects for Lando, Jabba, and Gaya. If there was an anthology show set on Batuu that could feature existing main, supporting, or background characters across any point in the timeline, who do you think might have a great story to tell about their brief time on Batuu?
Scar Squad were the Star Wars version of Team Rocket.
I never noticed it but it does seem odd in a Universe with millions of planets everyone seems to bump into people they know.

Yes, and it’s mostly Dave Filoni’s fault. Now people expect the same handful of characters to keep showing up over and over.

Isn’t Rangers cancelled?
The episode lengths I think are done that way for padding IMO. They have only a bit of new content to bring out over the course of a whole year, be it Star Wars, Marvel, etc. Especially when Disney+ doesn’t release in a binge friendly manner
Yes, and it does detract from a bit of the expansive feel of the galaxy. While it does let us see our fun characters interact, it also robs us of new characters that new fans and old fans alike could fall in love with.
Like everyone else is saying though, it’s not a big issue at all. Especially since TBB is a spin off, as said at the beginning of the episode

Speaking of Season 2 for the Bad Batch I expect that the next season will premiere at Celebration next year.
The first episode will probably be shown exclusively there, like they did for Resistance season 2, but the season will be shown to the public on Disney Plus a couple months later, probably after Kenobi and Andor but before Mando season 3

Via hologram like we did for zoom. It would be much easier if everyone had a force dyad
Star Wars shows and movies tend to focus on characters that start out small and then make significant contribution against a major threat.

Very simple, but very true answers

Do you think the elderly San Tekka navigator that Marchion Ro uses to chart the paths is force sensitive as it implies she was communicating with Loden whilst he was imprisoned.

Every story is a small galaxy - there's thousands of people at the Trojan War and we are introduced to a couple dozen in the Iliad.
I just really loved seeing a live action Ahsoka and loved seeing Luke come back obviously. I can’t complain seeing my favorite characters on screen but I also love seeing new eras/new people as well
Same
Alex, you need to get your pilot's wings (license). I bet you'd love it.
That sucks!"
Now they are asking if we have a small galaxy problem.
Love Mollie’s vest! Where did she get it?
The issue is that they are really bad at selling you a wider galaxy.
They are also making all these connections because the plan is to have a massive multimedia crossover at the end of this arc they are building up to. Where we'll see all of these characters come together for the grand finale.
For season 2 of the Mandalorian it was quite prevalent for me. Mando felt like the side character of his own show. Where the first season had his backstory and development, season 2 was mainly about his tour of cameos. I still loved it don't get me wrong. But seeing it happening in the Bad Batch is a little annoying for me.
Let's answer mollies questions at the end.

Q/A: do you guys think Star Wars will ever “end”? Like, will Lucasfilm ever decide to wrap it up, tell one final story, and be done?
(Personally I hope this doesn’t happen, I just don’t know if they ever WILL)
Star wars doesn't need anymore movies, TV shows are the future, clearly
Maybe when geogre lucas passes away? But if not nope. It such an expansive world I wouldn't be surprised if 50 years down the line the way star wars is viewed changes and the skywalker saga won't be as big of a deal
@@phantomsidious2934 Rogue Squadron? Rians trilogy? Fiege’s movie? Tiaka’s movie?
If you think that's bad, I'm expecting Luke, Ahsoka, and Rex to team up to fight Boba Fett in his show.
Who cares, its fun to see characters interact.
Luke skywalker: "I care"
Yeah, as long as they don’t overdo it with cameos
That's never how Star Trek worked.
