Sabrina is way too much "I've seen this girl my whole life" type of look. I was tired of it even back then.
Definitely feel like Kiely was the filler. Sabrina added dance and stage presence even if vocally she couldn't contribute much. If Cheetah girls debuted as a trio, it would have worked sm better.

Ugh Solange’s management fumbled so hard. She should have done Cheetah Girls and then released her solo debut later down the line. You can tell they weren’t expecting The Cheetah Girls to be as big as it did.

I knew Keily from 3LW, but yeah that was a dumb statement. I was best friends with a girl for years until she screwed me over. It doesn’t mean I was faking it when we were friends just because we aren’t now.
Well we knew her from 3LW so yeah there is that and she did it because why not she is also a singer, dancer and very pretty just like her and they would work close together like before. Fans loved 3LW so seeing both of them in the cheetah girls was not only shocking but a blast from the past.

Raven made the smartest move by not wanting to tangle her identity up too much Cheetah Girls as a girl group. It’s hard to break out of such a childish image. Look at the measures Adrienne went to with the leaked photos, and Kieley is stuck in the past and virtually has no career.

Yeah I always understood why Raven didn't want to get trapped into the girl group. Sure the movie was cute. But that's the thing it's not adult. Girl groups actually have very little power or control. Raven was an actor first anyway.

It makes sense. Her mom was the manager and probably propped up her ego more so than focusing on her talent. It ends up sabotaging the child star when people with more talent enter the arena. Similar thing happened with Hilary Duff when her mom sabotaged Lizzie Mcguire 2.

I think the thing I liked most about the cheetah girls when I was a kid was that, Dorinda and Raven weren’t tooth pick skinny. As a kid I started gaining weight when I turned 8 and it really affected me. Seeing girls that were around my size made me feel a little healthier!

As a kid I loved seeing a group with different people. They reminded me of the Bratz dolls because each Bratz was a different race. I loved having the diversity because it felt like each doll was unique and pretty, unlike barbie that mostly looked the same.

Sabrina was a dancer at heart and wanted to get into acting. And stayed with singing with CG to advance her career. Which seemed to work because her dance career did bump after CG ended.
I think to your point, Raven wasnt trying to go down the road Kiely and Adrienne wanted to. Again, no one thought the CG would become a phenomenon.
I still think casting raven in the lead was a mistake. There’s no way she could commit herself to that much work!! Disney really did overwork all their kids.
For real. I'm south-american and watched all of these shows and movies with Spanish dubs, which means that up until very recently I didn't even know most of these kids ALSO served as voice actors on top of everything else. They acted, recorded albums, toured, did press, attended media training/dancing/singing/acting clases, it all sounds like too much even for an adult.

@@Peajay007 Unfortunately there weren't that many laws protecting child entertainers back in the day, which is why some of these networks (I'm also talking Nickelodeon) got away with so much. I don't know if those regulations have changed, hopefully they have. I've noticed that more and more shows lately are hiring adults to play teens.
I think the biggest problem was how good the movie worked. At that point, Disney Channel movies were just something you watched on a Friday evening and forget the following week. No one could’ve seen coming how big the movie would’ve been plus Raven being in an equally successful show. That’s So Raven and The Cheetah Girls marked a new era of Disney, it was just bad luck for Raven to have been a part of that at such a young age.
But she MADE the cheetah girls!! She was my favorite cheetah girl and I know I'm not the only one
It is fascinating how the casting people saw Adrienne and Raven have that chemistry and friendship which translated in real life. Even in the original movie, Chanel and Galleria were a duo and added the other two later. Chanel even said they will have an apartment together, not with the other girls. So that actually would fit a sequel movie if they do one now.
Fr! They could even do a basic premise like Girlz 5eva where one or two of the girls suggests a reunion because nostalgia is hot right now.

I think a large part of the reason why kids loved cheetah girls was the diversity, and the fact they could sing and dance was a cherry on top.
Majority black or brown is not "diversity". Just say the cast wasn't white and you liked that. 🙄
@@skip031890 i think they mean diversity in the sense of disney shows as a whole, a cast that wasn't completely or majority white was diverse among the other shows and movies.
there were 2 black girls, a white girl and a latina, which IS DIVERSE, you just lump all the non white members together against the one white member and just feel like it’s not white enough for you, you seem to have a problem with a non predominantly white ensemble.

Unfortunately I had much in my life that I can tell and that’s why I always teamed up with Kiely and Sabrina.
They seem the evil ones because they’re not pretending to be the candy mesmerizing girlies as Raven and Adrienne.
I don’t say that Kiely is a saint either, but she gave me the vibe that if ever did something wrong, it’s for a reason.
Also, the obvious cause of the group disband are still Raven and Adrienne for the same reason someone already commented and also I did these years here and there. And don’t get me wrong, as a kid when the movies came out I always preferred them to the others. But analyzing them better I noticed that something’s not right.

I dealt with narcissistic/toxic people all my life and trust me, if they don’t kill you physically they will mentally and emotionally. Like I always say, of course by experience: they’re the evil in person.

This video is everything for me. I was in a little Black girl in elementary school when Cheetah Girls came out and was definitely a part of the "frenzy." I remember trying to start a girl group at my school. Held auditions during recess and everything lol.

Okay I can believe that Adrienne was behind her own leak because she didn't really seem to gaf. She had the victim roll but at the same time seemed to enjoy the attention. Plus, she liked that she was seen more as an adult through her appearance on the kardashian show. Its sad that she felt the need to take it as far as exposing herself. Her nudes werent vulgar but it wasnt disneylike of course. I never knew that was ended the cheetah girl reign. And I appreciate how Raven knew where to draw the line and try to avoid being overworked.

@@crystalshaw8744 I read there was a lot jealousy from her, because Raven was already established and successful with her own show. So Kiely tried to single her out of the group, Raven said she felt excluded, and there where fights I read as well between them.
I didn't care to watch the 3rd movie without Raven in it. She carried the group and they did her dirty by releasing the sequel despite her not being in it.
I didn't even watch Cheetah girls 3 because Raven wasn't in it. Raven is one of my favorite actresses so when she left I left. Never even watched it don't want to watch it I really just like Raven. The rest were okay too I'm not saying they weren't, but my favorite one was Raven.

The very first That's So Raven episode aired on my 12th birthday. I had a HUGE sleepover with so many girls. It was snowing outside. We were extremely excited for the first episode.

Yeah, bad management, she could have done the movie and after that drop her album. Probably we would have another great big artist by now.
Solange did become a big artist in her own right. Her album went number one and she won a grammy for it in 2017.

I was an angsty 14 year old who was into Korn and Limp Bizkit when the first Cheetah Girls movie came out and even I liked it. If Raven can't make you even giggle at her comedic timing, then you're dead inside. 😅

I like how I can watch these videos and be amazed at how many people didn't realize how much drama the girls had back then. Even back then we knew Kiely was why Raven didn't come back. They didn't have any onscreen chemistry together the 2nd movie, and They never really stood by each other in photos.
I think they had chemistry during the filming of the 2nd movie & photoshoots but it wasn't real because of behind the scenes issues. Kiely was the ring leader of the trio, so if she didn't like someone & iced them out then the other two (Adrienne & Sabrina) did the same. That means Raven was iced out from the other 3 during filming of CG2 & she left the franchise soon after that.
@GameLover-pz5zc When I watch TCG2, I can see that Kiely and Raven, in particular, weren't feeling each other. It's noticeable when they performed on GMA as well. It's subtle things, it's not necessarily "in our faces".
I felt the tension. In the first cheetah girls when the scene Where galleria wanted to the jackal Johnson instead of the talent show when aqua approached raven that was tense even for the scene

Did anyone else ever notice how aquas character kind of changed from part 1 to 2? I felt like part 1 she was a little hood and snappy. And part 2 she was a little ditzy and nerdy.

Kiely looks really rough. Anger, resentment and just bitter behavior ends up showing on the outside. She seemed to still have lots of questions on her chest in that chat with Raven so I hope she finds closure and can heal.
I’m glad that others see it too. She doesn’t look to well. She doesn’t seem content like the other women. It’s a form of karma in a sense, she thought that her ties would protect her. She has beautiful kids and what seems like a good hubby. However, her talking about the b2k members and sleeping with multiple members back then was crazy. I’m thinking you’re married with kids, why are you even bringing this up. She was rude to naturi from 3LW. She has an history of being problematic. She needs to heal. I know that her sister raised her. Her biological mom died in childbirth with her from what I’ve heard. I watched some old UA-cam videos and that show she had on BET, she drinks a lot of wine. I’m wondering does she use that as an outlet.
IDK She doesn't have any makeup on and Adrienne and Raven have at the very least had botox.
@@chacha2321Raven and Adrienne had success after, Kiely didn’t really. Maybe a bit part here and there but she never got to be the true Hollywood starlet like the other 2. Raven has always been “too cool for school” so to speak; both her and Adrienne come off as uppity and fake as hell. Always have.
I'm not sure if I like this painting of the "evil, jealous woman" in this story as looking rough and older, while the more fan favorite, more successful women obviously look more conventionally attractive (which is definitely not because they're still entertainers and get cosmetic touch ups /s)

i haven’t watched the 3rd movie since around the time it was released. i remember always disliking it when i was younger and avoided watching it when rewatching the cheetah girls movies growing up. now i know exactly why i didn’t like it when i was younger lmaooo. leaving raven out is CRAZY, i guess i just totally forgot that happened.
I remember lol. I always disliked it because I had always assumed that they pushed her out of the movie and group cuz Raven was the heaviest and I thought that was messed up. Now I know it was so much worse than that.

Solange got pregnant and lost a bunch of Disney deals. She was about to blow up on Disney but she got pregnant and her team knew Disney wasn’t having it so they push her album to keep her in the light.

I still can never understand why they chose Kiely and not Naturi for the Cheetah Girls. Naturi could sing and dance and act, and she definitely seemed to have a great personality and good work ethic. She would have been perfect!

All Kim wanted was an unknown actress from the Bronx to play as her in Notorious.

I actually think Solange's lost potential for this movie was used pretty well in Bring It On: All Or Nothing.
She played a realistic character that led her team with intimidation, but when she was challenged by Britney (the new girl), they both ended up respecting each other over time. She was great in the role despite how cheesy the film is at times!
And that Bring it On film was one of the best in the franchise

But the Cheetah girls went on to have sequels and even release albums and go on tour. Cheetah girls is still being talked about to this day. Her team fumbled by making her release her debut album so early. They thought she could ride off of Beyoncé’s fame instead of developing her own image. If she did the Cheetah Girls she would have built her own fan base before going solo.

I had no idea all this was going on behind the scenes! I remember being a kid and noticing Raven wasn't always there. And I did get confused thinking like is this an actual group or just a movie or wtf and who's in the group fr? And some of them are in 3LW too lol. And 3LW was decently big, on the radio and mtv and whatnot. I mean, it truly was confusing to kids.

Cause they probably had to address her absence somewhat. But it was like oh she's just really busy with other projects type of thing. I keep thinking it was like this mainly unspoken thing it was so odd. I had no idea it was so messy lol but at the time I was pretty young. And it was confusing cause I just couldn't tell what they actually were.
Kiely has always been an envious jealous girl. Her family was so involved in 3LW and they probably gassed her up to be the “top girl” of Cheetah Girls. It’s always been Raven and the Cheetah Girls and they hated her for it.
Raven is so down to earth and direct with her words, I simply love her.
There is something about that IG live between Raven and Kiely that felt fake. Not so much on ravens end but on Kielys. I have had friends like her who the friendship was all about them I had to be there whenever she needed me but when I needed her she was a ghost. That’s the vibes I’m getting from Kiely.
The Cheetah Girls soundtrack literally changed my life. Came out when I was like 10ish. It has the song Outside Looking In by Jordan Pruitt I believe and I listened to it on repeat for years and still at 30 years old think of it when I’m sad.

@basskitten808. Adrienne may or may not have leaked her nudes but the Cheetah Girls contracts were up by 2009 regardless. Disney wasn't going to keep them for long as they planned on moving forward with newer shows & newer franchises.
As for Adrienne and Kiely's friendship, that ended around the same time the group broke up, all because Adrienne had enough of Kiely & her family's ways. They haven't spoken since.

You’re so right, as a child it was my DREAM to be on a Disney channel show! I had such a rose tinted view of the actors lives, thinking they must have had the most wonderful time making the film and that they’re all besties 💀 as an adult I’m so glad I never got into the Disney machine or even was a child actor, the industry is tough as it is as an adult, I can only imagine how gruelling it would be for children who simply want to climb trees and play

The Cheetah Girls really opened the floodgates. Not only was it diverse, but we wouldn’t have High School Musical, Teen Beach Movie, Camp Rock… any iconic musical DCOM we probably wouldn't have if the Cheetah Girls didn’t prove it could be massively successful. So it really changed the game and I didn’t even grow up with it.
Solange would've made a better Aqua imo. When Kiely was supposed to come off as "rude" or "sarcastic" she just seemed too nice. This also would've boosted Solange's career so much more

I NEVER knew about the drama that happened behind the Cheetah Girls, so thank you for this. But I'd like to state a memory of mine. In 2006, in Tulsa Oklahoma, for the Tulsa State Fair, like, I think, towards the end of the 2 week-long Fair at the end of September to the beginning of October, I was about to turn 20, and my mom had died in January of that year, I went to the Fair, and Raven Simone played a small free concert-esque type of performance on the Oklahoma Stage of the Fair. And also, for Halloween that year, I put together an outfit that I thought was super cute and had a Cheetah Girls vibe to it, and pretended to be a Cheetah Girl for Halloween. And that was at the peak performance value time period of my life for my singing voice, so I was able to sing and belt out Cheetah Girls songs at that time. I was like any other girl at the time that loved Disney.

Wow so that explains it! I remember being so confused as a kid when I saw 4 members and then 3 members. I began to assume that raven was not a cheetah girl, but I also couldn’t make sense of anything. It was a very confusing time for little me, but boy I sure did love the cheetah girls!
I feel bad for Solange seems like a huge opportunity missed that could’ve launched her career and made her a huge star alongside Beyoncé. I’m sure it must’ve hurt to see these girls blowing up like crazy where everyone knows their name, while unfortunately she remained relatively unknown around that time because she was made to give up her spot for what they felt would’ve been bigger. They really should’ve let her stay in Cheetah girls and then release her album, but at that time no one expected the cheetah girls to blow up so they had no idea about the huge opportunity miss.

I grew up with these four girls and just the cheetah girls in general. It’s sad to see what happened behind the scenes. But therefore I will always love and Stan with the cheetah girls they are the highlight of my childhood.
