@@thatfishingnoob thank you. I love watching your stuff! We are in such a similar space: both in the south, both have 106 PDL, both new to tournaments, both still discovering our yaks and how we want them. Just cool to relate. But you are a better fisherman than me, so there's that 😂 but that's cool... I can learn from you. Have a great weekend brother.
Thanks man, but I don’t think I’m better haha. I’m definitely still a big time noob in my book, still learning about things and trying to get better. Thanks for the support, I greatly appreciate it. I may have to use that pool noodle trick to fish wires if I go that route.
Great pick on the graph! I've had my kayak almost exactly a year and have been running just a Lowrance Hook4 the entire time.. after weeks of research I'll be getting a UHD 93sv for my bday in a few weeks!
My phone must be trying me to buy a bigger graph because since I bought it, I’ve seen ads and posts about folk getting the 93sv and ultra graphs 😂. You’re gonna love it. Happy early birthday!
@@thatfishingnoob thanks! I originally was thinkin of goin with the 73 bc had seen a few posts about the 93 bein too big.. but then I just said screw it bc I've got a 12' yak and if I can't find room on the deck for 2 more inches then I ain't tryin hard enough 😂
Hahaha. From what I've heard, those that went with the 93 absolutely love it and have no regrets going with that unit. I think you're definitely going to enjoy it.
@@larsvegas1505 yeah, that was the top complaint I saw was that when you're running the split or 3-way screen it makes the majority of the views borderline unusable.. I'm gettin old and need those charts as big as possible 😂
It’s a great unit for sure! I’ve still got a lot of practicing to do with it, but the bare minimum of water temp and depth is absolutely sick. Tight lines!
Excited to see your journey with this new electronic you got. a good way for me to learn how to use it and everything watching somebody else make the mistakes that I would make if not worse. And you ain't kidding man I watched so many gnats crawl across your camera and everything and seeing him fly around. I don't have a solution for them, the child in me says grab a can of hairspray and a lighter
Lol a hairspray and a lighter would have been fantastic. I didn’t realize how blown out the image was from the GoPro, so I’ll need to manually adjust the exposure or change some settings so it displays more clearly. I moved the graph up some and think I’ll keep it there, as well as some other minor changes. I’ve got another video to edit, so stay tuned!!! Thanks for joining me on this journey.
Nice graph brother, you got the one with the bigger transducer. BTW that stick fish was not a 15 pounder, it was definitely closer to a tree pounder. Can you really still call yourself a noob now?, lol Tight lines!!
Lol got those dad jokes! Thanks man, it’s definitely a unit. I’ve only taken it out like twice so far, and not in deep water, but hopefully soon. I’m excited to be able to target flats, drop offs, ledges, and the good stuff accurately. Lol until I am catching fish like Ben Milliken, I’ll be a noob 😂. A noob with a graph and some rod/reels.
@@thatfishingnoob Milliken's a hammer for sure. I got a llittle nervous for him day 3 at Lake Fork when it looked like he may miss fishing that Sunday, but ability to catch giants came through for him. Grtz on the new graph brother!!
Thank you sir! I haven't gotten big into the fishing scene but it's definitely interesting, and there's a lot that can be learned for sure! Tight lines!
Dude, watching Matt Greiner put in flawless work on the set is mesmerizing. I still play their music today lol, with their older albums being my favorite. I don’t mind their new stuff but I always go back to Thrill Seeker, Messengers, and Constellations. And their Christmas stuff around that time haha. 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Ayeeee!!!! Thanks! I appreciate it! Also random, I stumbled across a band "When Forever Ends" - newer band that grew on me after initially hearing them. They released one album, but it's made its way into my playlist of \m/ things
😂 I was sure I was going to break off until it started moving lol. One day I’ll hook into like a 7 pounder and will hysterically laugh once I land it, after thinking it was another PB stick fish.
@@thatfishingnoob well thank you for replying, on the brighter side, I live in North Idaho and I just caught my first bass about 2 hours ago. It's been about 40° for 2 days and I thought if anything I might do it today tomorrow supposed to be 46 I'm going tomorrow too. But I caught him on a little electric chicken Bobby Garland
YOOOO!!!!! Good stuff!! Sheesh, that's pretty chilly haha... There's a front coming through but 40's is the low... high will still be around upper 60's. Get out there tomorrow and catch more! Tight lines!

6ish hours of fishing and it was higher than 75% when I stuck it on the charger to see. I can get more life outta it if I sleep my FF while I’m changing spots. Though, I didn’t need to. But I want to give the unit a chance to take a break haha.
Congrats on your new fish finder. Garmin is without a doubt, the best in the game I know it's great to live debt free and pay cash for everything, but after saving up the money for it, why wouldn't you put it on a CC and pay off balance in full, and reap the rewards of the cash back, or rewards points? I'm not hating, just curious
Great question - that’s actually what I did lol. Put it on the credit card and paid it off 😂. That’s also what I did for my PDL when I bought it - saved up the cash and then made the purchase on the CC, paid the balance. It’s pretty meticulous… literally every purchase is tracked, down to the cent. So when the CC balance comes in at “631.74”, we know where all 631.74 went. We’ve got SW because my wife likes to fly. We also fly her side into town, so the flight points help. I don’t remember when’s the last time we paid for a flight anywhere lol. Thanks for stopping by and asking about the CC. I appreciate it!
@@thatfishingnoob thanks for the answer. When you talked about it in the video, it sounded like you paid cash for it. Keep up the great vids and tight lines!!
😂 I laughed when you got yours because I knew I was looking at the same unit. I changed some stuff up - I like where it’s at now. 1st shortcut will be for big lakes - 3 way split (large rectangle on left, top and bottom screen on right). I have maps on left, side scan on top right and traditional on bottom right. 2 - 2 way split, traditional on right, clear vu on left. 3 - I forgot right now… 😂. I’ll include it in a future video.
Nice install! I just installed a Striker 4 last weekend. Good video.
Just checked it out! Great job reviewing everything that it came with and explaining it all.
