These first generation IS300 series never seems to look outdated. They still look great out and in even with cars of this present year.He chose a real gem from the past and made it stand out.
Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Its much appreciated after all the hard work that went into making this swap possible. *****Correction we hit 14 psi on that pull.** That shake down run was the absolute first time the car had been driven. Needless to say there will be much faster times as I get this platform dialed in.
Nice build man. To be honest, I would have never thought of a Lexus with an Lsx swap, took me by surprise. Keep posted with the time slips and hp power pulls.
***** 2jzgtte bro. best thing since nando's. easily get 1000hp and still sound great without all that disgusting lopey sound. if you must get a v8, then toyota 1uzfe, 3uzfe. rebuild would be much cheaper and bulletproof
That is badass! What is sweet about this set-up, is its different and it works. Not everyone throws a high hp motor into a car to only gut the crap out of it. This is a true luxury sport sedan with a sick set-up. Nice work
This is pretty great. Yes, from the comments on here i'm sure he could've easily swapped in a 2jz, but who wants to do something that's already been done? This builder obviously wanted something original and completely different. Absolutely nothing wrong with this build. Can't wait to see this IS300 at its full potential!
I don't normally like it when an American v8's find their way into a Japanese car, but for some reason I really like this build. Seems like you could daily drive it with 600 hp, and then pump the boost up and run 1000 hp with no issue. Which is a very under appreciated trait in a car.
Expected bigger numbers honestly. Don't start on your "I'm a hater" bandwagon because I am not saying its weak and my car isn't as powerful, I just thought it would yield a higher number. Crank that boost up!
I will. Still much more boost to go. Since I started the build ten weeks before Tx2k and finished the day we left it didn't leave much time for dialing in higher boost
FuryOfTyphon Similar peak numbers yea but there is more then just peak numbers. The LSx series of engines produce very broad power bands and will have typically have a lot more lower end torque and mid range power then a 2JZ-GTE with the same peak numbers. They are both great engines though. Sometimes being different is good. Personally I like to keep my Ford powered by a Ford, my Chevy's powered by a Chevy, and Toyota's powered by a Toyota, but that is just me. To each their own. Matt Owen Well done sir.
FuryOfTyphon Actually you cannot. The 6266 only flows enough to make around 750hp in a single setup. I made 860 @ 14 psi. I'll be turning it up to 25 psi for a race in a few weeks. If you knew the back ground on this build you would know I built it in 10 weeks finishing the day I left for tx2k14. Not much time for dialing in
Matt Owen Actually you can and I'll prove it /watch?v=iVqiUhAv01c... 2JZ 6266 843whp@29psi. And I'm not trying hate or anything, just saying that bang for buck, the 2J would have been the better option in your case, considering your car came with a 2J already.
I don't know too much on the build. But IIRC the build was done in something like 4 months which is very impressive imo. I wonder if those numbers are on ethanol or if the 5.3 HO is built. Those turbos compounded are good for 1100 HP easy so this isn't the last of what we see from him! Either way, i'm happy for the owner this thing is sick as fuck,
Love this build! Honest this is clean and demands respect even though most of viewers are jelly;) If anyone has been to a track lately they know what 3500 pounds or so and a twin ls can and will do! Keep it up
Thats a KILLER. But I think that the 5.7 or just maybe the 6.0 would give him a better run..... but I would love that setup on a g-body better just like it is....
isnt a barebones lsx about 20 grand, then twin turbos. a 2jz-ge stock is about 500-600 bucks, you could spend 5 grand on engine internals, and a single turbo setup is prob gonna be 5-10 grand. then you have a reliable 900hp. if you can do the work though
I love the fact that it's a manual......that missed gear probably cost him a second or two......nice setup either way mate. I wish some of the lads here would take the time to build a proper nice car.
That is300 is clean as F*ck! It made around 900hp to the wheel (dyno reading low) and the is300 is actually lighter then the 2jz Supra. I wanna see this car race a 900hp supra on the street to see if the Lsx really made a difference.
Yes he could of built the stock 2jzge motor and put a big turbo and supporting mods and made same Whp. 1st nothing would be special or unique. 2nd you would be maxing that setup out and running over 30 psi. His setup is just barely breathing making 900whp setup is def goof for over 1000 whp. 3rd have you every driven a car Turbo LS v8 motor? Nuff said... Id take a turbo v8 making 900 whp over a 2jz making 900 whp.
no... a stock lsx 454 can make +600 hp completely stock. a complete stock 2jz is around 300hp. you need some expensive shit to make a 2jz better than a lsx...
+Břęňđąñ MçĆæřţhý (Get Rekt) a stock 2jz can handle 1000hp, its the record. 5-600hp is very achievable and reliable with all factory internals. my.is/forums/f114/max-hp-out-stock-components-2jz-gte-466625/ now go sit down.
+Břęňđąñ MçĆæřţhý (Get Rekt) by the way this pos pushrod v8 has two turbos and double the displacement of a 2jz and it still gets less hp than a 2jz with stock internals LOL get rekt
They DEFINITELY compromised both durability and power by going for the cheaper 5.3 over any Ford engine, especially those new 3-cylinders in the Fiestas. :P
In F&F Tokyo Drift movie i saw the battle drift Mustang had a Nissan skyline RB26TT engine.I know LS series engines are good but leave them off japanies cars.
Johnathan Commodore A car enthusiast is not going to give a shit what kind of car or engine it is, only that the work put into it was well done. Sounds like you're the one who isn't the enthusiast.
These first generation IS300 series never seems to look outdated. They still look great out and in even with cars of this present year.He chose a real gem from the past and made it stand out.

Nice build man. To be honest, I would have never thought of a Lexus with an Lsx swap, took me by surprise. Keep posted with the time slips and hp power pulls.
Update! We made 1162@ 24 psi just last week.
***** 2jzgtte bro. best thing since nando's. easily get 1000hp and still sound great without all that disgusting lopey sound. if you must get a v8, then toyota 1uzfe, 3uzfe. rebuild would be much cheaper and bulletproof
I really like both motors man,... I love yotas as much as I love chevys..... which ever one you choose can make a beast of a motor
Matt Owen nice
Mad props to the dude for doing his thing and doing something different, clean whip & setup.
Frickin 1000HP 2JZ would blow by him in a heart beat lol...
That is badass!
What is sweet about this set-up, is its different and it works. Not everyone throws a high hp motor into a car to only gut the crap out of it.
This is a true luxury sport sedan with a sick set-up.
Nice work
One of the SICKEST LS swaps I EVER seen!!!!!!!
11.41! Hell of a nice first pass ever!
Engine bay so packed but it's actually really clean!
This car is a SAVAGE!!! One of the BEST Toyota's and Engine's EVER BUILT in one KILLER package! Great Job! 💪⚡⚡
It had already had one of the best engines out the factory just not turbo
That thing look razor sharp! Looks good rollin on Welds and has plenty of nastiness under the hood....
The fact that it's a manual makes me so happy inside.
This is pretty great. Yes, from the comments on here i'm sure he could've easily swapped in a 2jz, but who wants to do something that's already been done? This builder obviously wanted something original and completely different. Absolutely nothing wrong with this build. Can't wait to see this IS300 at its full potential!
It's horrible
@@jrsalgado3388 good thing he didn’t build it for yo ass then
I like the way the blow off valve tubes are flush with the fenders
Engine looks like something Nelson Racing Engines would have built, fuckin nasty!
Insane car!!!!! 1320 is amazing at finding these beasts!!!! Great vid!
Those bronze manifolds are just a work of art
Love the rear shots when boost builds. The trunk and bumper cant handle it haha
I don't normally like it when an American v8's find their way into a Japanese car, but for some reason I really like this build. Seems like you could daily drive it with 600 hp, and then pump the boost up and run 1000 hp with no issue. Which is a very under appreciated trait in a car.
It's so funny reading all the hater comments! Nice car bro!
Even tho it's a lexus, I would prefer a 2jz in it but I got to say that's a badass set up that lsx look like it didn't play lol
Boosted lsxs rend more hp per boost and weigh less so i cant see the plus side here, other than money saving cuz the jz is stock
the stock 2jzge in those is garbage lol
OMFG! An LSx swap!....How unique!
Never thought I'd say this but...
That's one nice Lexus!
Matt Owen You realise you could make similar numbers off of a single 6266 on a 2JZ, just sayin'...
FuryOfTyphon
Similar peak numbers yea but there is more then just peak numbers. And I'm not trying hate or anything, just saying that bang for buck, the 2J would have been the better option in your case, considering your car came with a 2J already.
Man! If it's that clean by the time the guy is done with the build, we should find him (wherever he lives) and shower him in money.
It's cool but, their should be a 2jz under that hood with a massive snail. To each is his own
I don't know too much on the build. But IIRC the build was done in something like 4 months which is very impressive imo. I wonder if those numbers are on ethanol or if the 5.3 HO is built. Those turbos compounded are good for 1100 HP easy so this isn't the last of what we see from him! Either way, i'm happy for the owner this thing is sick as fuck,
Another impressive 5.3 swap
Love this build! Honest this is clean and demands respect even though most of viewers are jelly;)
If anyone has been to a track lately they know what 3500 pounds or so and a twin ls can and will do! Keep it up
HOT DAMN!!!!!!! Sounds good and looks wicked awesome
I always wonder what's the fun of conversions like this. This car is japanies,so it should have a 2JZ-GTE or the 1UZ-FE V8 tuned to 1000+hp.
Yea keep it jdm not that junkyard ls shit
I liked every second of that video !
I don't get replacing a 2jz with a different motor, but that's just my opinion. No going back now.
Wanna see this on the streets !!
very clean build!
This is a true sleeper
That car is badass
Can't wait for tx2k15 to be held at royal purple 5 min from the house
Love the setup!
Holy SHIT!!! That's nuts! !
Bad ass setup!
Think I just fell in LOVE!!!
tough tough tough! GM love all day everyday
Thats a KILLER. But I think that the 5.7 or just maybe the 6.0 would give him a better run..... but I would love that setup on a g-body better just like it is....

You guys are awesome!!! Keep it up :D
why ls swap if it already has a 2jz
Twin turbo 1UZFE in a Capri which runs sub 10s on the 1/4 mile look that up just one example.
Very nice sleeper of a car.
Sweet install
I love the fact that it's a manual......that missed gear probably cost him a second or two......nice setup either way mate. I wish some of the lads here would take the time to build a proper nice car.

Supra would win
Really cool but they should go with 2jz not corvette v8
No corvette has ever had an aluminum 5.3 LSx, a "chevy v8" would be correct though.
My bad Chevy v8
Really well put together car! What was the trap speed in the 1/4?
Which 5.3 came with a mechanical fuel pump ??
These cars come with a 2jz. Why on earth would you swap it. You could spend less money and make more power than this build.
I really was expecting much higher hp number.... Im guessing there is more in there just gota get it figured out!
Yes he could of built the stock 2jzge motor and put a big turbo and supporting mods and made same Whp. 1st nothing would be special or unique. 2nd you would be maxing that setup out and running over 30 psi. I was going to see a lexus engine in it but hey still a well built machine
that car could be in the high 9s if he really pushes it he went soft on the launch n slow shifts you can see it
How do you get a transmission to hold that power without disintegrating?!
i bet you can get that to under ten seconds
LSx... nuff said!
Could a made more with the 2j
those wheels are gash!
Matt Owen; If you don't mind, would you share the specs on the wheels?? I have an 02 IS and I want to do a similar setup,thanks..
but in deed a remarkable and different type of setup me I'm a 2jay fan
if i see lamar wilson ONE MORE TIME!!!!
Badass setup
nice to see one without a 2jz
It's horrible
he should have just put an 2jz in it
no... a stock lsx 454 can make +600 hp completely stock. a complete stock 2jz is around 300hp. you need some expensive shit to make a 2jz better than a lsx...

lsx is like 25k for the short block 2jzgte the way to going
Beast mode
time for some a tad of positive camber in the rear and a tad bit stiffer too so when she squats she has as much tire contact as possibly
Thats it? 860hp from a twin turbo set up? Its super clean tho
Still have 10 psi or more left in it. I'm far from finished.
other vids of this car?
A 2jz could of done that power wtf lol
Are there any smart people left on the internet?
They DEFINITELY compromised both durability and power by going for the cheaper 5.3 over any Ford engine, especially those new 3-cylinders in the Fiestas. :P
whats the title of these badass bassdrops after the intro?
Is300 ftw
Is that Matt from T1?
Yes
2:07
LS swap in a Lexus just doesn't sound right... I'd want something that revved higher, just to keep the Japanese spirit.
Same thing I said I own an is300 and seeing and ls motor in there hurts
Now its an "IS530".
does that car even have A/C
LSX's are iron blocks not aluminum.
They vary. The older ones were aluminum. It's not an ls7... It's the aluminum block
800+ @11???
Just your typical LS car.
i have one just like that:but that engine like factory no way,the best!!!!!!!! from Puerto Rico!!!!!
Can I get the 2Jz from that car?
800Plus HP and it runs a 11sec?
It is a worse powerful smoke machine!
In F&F Tokyo Drift movie i saw the battle drift Mustang had a Nissan skyline RB26TT engine.I know LS series engines are good but leave them off japanies cars.
It's his car and he can do whatever he wants with it.
;)
***** You missed my point so you are not a car enthusiast.
Johnathan Commodore A car enthusiast is not going to give a shit what kind of car or engine it is, only that the work put into it was well done. Sounds like you're the one who isn't the enthusiast.
Johnathan Commodore
I think you're the one missing the point and you're not a car enthusiast, you're a bitchass fanboy.
The cars they used to film the action shots had Ford V8s. They only built one car with the RB, and that was for underhood shots. Just sayin'
Monster
Basass for sure.. sounds like there is a little miss though.
nice air filters...... oh wait
Hellz ya!
Holy muthafuckin.... SHIT!!
Very nice!
IS530
Awesome
