Saw this movie back in 06. Definitely under rated. Good times!
This movie is much more than it was rated. The ending of this true story is very sad.
@yuri dekhed it's a same thing
@@kamrankhaliq It's not a true story. The Laffyette Escadrill was a real squadron of American fighter pilots in the French Army, but the only character that was real was Thenault. Rawlings, Eddie, Skinner and the other people were not real, but some of the scenes were based off true events. The No Man's Land scene was based off a fighter pilot who landed to save his comrade who was shot down, and Cassidy was based off a British pilot who always seeked revenge for his dead friends by hunting down who killed them.
One of the best movies I ever watch! About frendship, love, brotherhood and what a real man is! What a movie!
It's complete garbage
Everything Franco isn’t lol
@@BobBobson-q5i are you german?
One of the best underrated movies I have seen...
The trailer was so awesome!!!
Specially the last line, "when you risk it all, the sky is the limit."
hahuahuahuaah
This is a movie that will make you stand and cheer in your livingroom.
underrated movie ....
Yuri DeKhed all of it
Absolutely agree
If have learned any sort of aviation history, this movie just makes me wanna puke.
Vive la France
Complete junk
There was a time when James Franco wasn't a drug addicted annoying character in college comedies. This is one of his best and very underrated films.
There was a time when no human being had a sense of humor. What was it like growing up during that time? Will you ever be able to learn to have a sense of humor
@@Ryzot if drug abuse is your sense of humor you might wanna rethink a few things in your life, friendly advice
@@jacqirius I'll bet i know a lot more about drug abuse than you do. war isn't funny but M.A.S.H. was a huge success. you want to know why it can be funny? because on t.v. it's not real. no one actually gets hurt. it's just pretend. you need to stop being so serious about it.
@@Ryzottrue.
One of the best war movies, so much emotions and drama like if it's real , like Pearl Harbor the Love story mixed with war. There's a message to that reason to why there's always Love involved with a Soldier. "I couldn't catch feelings if I knew my Life was always in Danger"
Fun fact: The songs "You Have A Special Purpose In Life" and "My Name Is Lincoln" from Michael Bay's The Island composed by Steve Jablonsky are used in the trailer for Flyboys.
There is no aircraft named pinto bean.
Just watched the movie, completely amazing !
BF1 Graphics looking pretty good!
lol its like it even the zeppelin init
Didn't know there were so many red barons....
Lmao I know!! They went crazy with the plan designs I get it they were trying to interpret the circus unit but that's copying off Red Baron
That's because the german government , decided to paint all its plane in red, in order to not let the enemy recognize the red baron, even if the first one who get his plane red is Von Richotffen ;)
Arf.
jérémi d'aguanno no all the airplanes had red in them but the plane that was painted all red was manfreds...don’t forget the flying circus had different colors
And fokker dr-I was not the only fighter in luftwaffe, there was Spads, Albatros, Fokker D-VII...
'Sorry boys this room's reserved for killers" "Did you uh slip there killer"
Shoowww
Loved this movie back in the days..
James Franco looking like a snack in this
This movie is ammaaaazing.
This and “The Red Baron” are like sister (or rather brother) movies. Both movies involved the same time period and almost the same historical legends.
"My Name Is Lincoln" by Steve Jablonsky
Flyboys took its place as my favorite WW1 aviation movie, with The Red Baron coming at a very close second. Mainly cause I heard the story of Manfred Von Richthofen about a dozen times, which is good cause he deserves the recognition, but I was pretty used to it. This move told a story about a squadron of Americans that fought for a foreign country before their homeland ever entered the war. I had only heard of the Lafayette Escadrille (sorry if I butchered the name) about 3 weeks prior to seeing the movie. Being an aviation junkie I had to check it out. It was definitely worth it. It also was fun to note that history truly does repeat itself as volunteer American squadrons would serve in the Battle of Britain and in China during the 2nd World War.
But not many, as usual the yanks rewrite history to overestimate their contribution and make them the sole heroes that everyone loves.
@@Gambit771 Flying Tigers In China, Eagle Squadrons as well as several other all American squadrons during the Battle of Britain. And that’s just naming a few.
@@Gambit771Another insecure Briton, got to love it. Cheers from Bald Eagle Land
You're an 'aviation junkie' but liked this movie......does not compute.
@@Gambit771As usual some butt hurt foreigner with an inferiority complex towards the United States attempts to rewrite history to discredit American veterans. The United States has 16mil veterans there guy, it's an honor to serve in America unlike in your nation where it's considered a last resort to your pathetic service job 😂.
The movie was okay, but I feel like some things could have been polished up a bit better.
Agreed. It was serviceable, but there is definitely room for improvement. At least it was better than the godawful 2008 Red Baron movie.
This is a phenomenal movie ! Must watch truly inspiring!
#RIPCOD... Sorry, I meant, good movie...

This was the only movie they would show us in baisc training. We watched it 8 times...
I don't think you could find a trailer with more cliche dialogue.
Eric Viola what about flyboys 2?
@@yukon2263 he meant the trailer, the movie is sick but the trailer *doesn't* do it justice

Shoowww
It still is an amazing movie
I first watched this movie when I was 8, great movie, great acting, great story... wish I could watch it for the first time
From 1:24 it's "My name is Lincoln" from "The Island" movie. Composer is Steve Jablonsky. That's the best music ever! :)
I came here from the soundtrack haha!
Haven't seen this movie, but just from the trailer, I get the sense the black guy dies. Just from the way his character is built
It's amazing! James Franco is the best!
Merci for helping France fellow Americans

I FRIGGING LOVE THIS MOVIE ❤
An amazing movie!!!

James Franco Was, Right now & will be the most greatest Actors with brilliant smile ever lived!!! The Intense and details Hollywood put in this masterpiece is beyond any imagination. War & Love what a great combo but War & never founded love, Gosh. Imagine loving someone that you are willing to die for and the Person was never ever been in your fate. Hollywood was soo good with Romance back in 2000's (I born in 2005) James and the French girl look so cute together. Ending really broke my heart cz everyone gets what the want but james never had his love that he want.
just came here for james ;)
UPPPPPP
He never found Lucienne again.
So sad
My favorite movie of all time
AWESOME MOVIE!!!!!!!!
Such a good movie, highly underrated.
Im watching this movie in civil air patrol for aerospace. Its an amazing movie so far. Hoorah
THE BEST MOVIE EVER ! 😍
This was an amazing movie the best war movie I’ve ever seen
This is a great movie
The experts got this one wrong. It's easily the best James Franco movie he's made. It's also the most entertaining WWI movie I've ever seen, and I'm amazed how they got the scenes in the air, especially the fight scenes. If you haven't seen it, you've missed a good movie.
It's utter Garbage
Even though this isn’t the best WW 1 movies out there. And probably not very historically accurate.
I still appreciate them showing how pilots had to endure the war. Even though WW 1 isn’t really talked about or shown in cinema much. Each movie made shows new perspectives of the war.
Sans Parachutes without carabiners please. Lindbergh was not allergic to peanutbutter. The gator skin whirleybird, buffets, more Than DC8.
This is legit one of my favorite movies
You will not regret for watching this move! This is epic and has a fantastic story, its a true story to!: My god this movie was just amazing!
ok pal
Battlefield 1 somebody?
Me
+Gergő Fülöp BATTLEFIELD! I'm gonna watch this movie again.
defo, out next month cant wait
awesome.
uh... i Actually Came Here For BF1 :D
Well looks like Hollywood based it on the true story of Manfred von Richthofen (Red Baron) and just made him American ...
The Germans were the ones who were out numbert and the Red Baron was the only one flying a Red plane and he was honored by the allies and even got a burial with all military honors by the allies so he wasnt the bad german sterotype as he is poraited in the movie.
In the movie, there is a german pilot inpired by Richtoffen, the americans are inspired in a true history.
Revan817 its historical fiction
Sorry but wrong , Richtofen was the first one ( in red) but all germans did then
Absolutely LOVE this movie!!
This movie was my entire 8th grade career... Bahahaha!

Imagine putting "from the creator of "The Patriot" in a trailer as a credential!
One of my favourite movies
Saw the Premier in Torrington, Ct., at the Warner theater. Got my picture w/ Tony Bill. He had a tri-plane on stage from Rhinebeck. Imagine, they took it apart and assembled it on stage. Got to talk to Tony on the phone later on, and told him what a great job.
Great job?
Skinner is my favorite character. Epic boxer and such!

Love this movie. Underrated.
He never found lucienne, how sad..

i just realized that James Franco is a very good looking guy.
His brother is too!!
que berraquera ,que pilotos tan valientes y apasionados para volar con alma
Hollywood version of WWI. Bloke legging it along a zepplin as it explodes 😂😂😂😂😂
Just watched again. 💜🇫🇷🇺🇸✌
Esta película es sencillamente increíble.
I'm going to watch this tomorrow for the first time
Please tell me you changed your mind
"Slipped there, killer?"
2:08 Together we find the strength to discover what we are made of cuz when you risk it all THE SKY IS THE LIMIT
*phew* Thanks, I was getting worried there.
Muito bom!
very very underrated
this movie is so great
As one of the few out there who has seen WW1 aircraft fly in numbers I can say with certainty they don't fly like this.
it was a simple but interesting movie, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
the one mistake they made thought is the dogfights are cgi and not really recreating the dog fights with real planes...
but otherwise I didnt think it was failure
there are some corny scenes but dont let that kill it for ya
Where can I watch this movie?
The Island soundtrack :o
my fav movie in 2009
Movie is on tubi-tv for FREE! very underrated movie
masterpiece
Damn this looks cheesy... Hollywood sure knows how to turn a good idea into dogshit.
chikitabowow it was actually alright
i liked it
It was really good
This movie is accurate with WW1 in Canada "Passchendaele"
Hi
James Franco is my favorite actor, even my other favorite actor is.. James Byron Dean
By: James Zheng Huai, Jr.
Amazing movie, amazing trailer.
Always fighting
Where I can watch this movie? Is this available on Netflix??
Fly Boys : Alternate Title "What Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor : should have been! " It also is really nice whenever a good film is made about World War I.
Well you're right about one thing, it's really nice when a good film is made about World War I. Sadly this one is utter garbage
So sad he didnt find luciene at the end😢
the great movie, let's
very interesting indeed what year was this?
Where can i watch these movies
Awesome video
There's a happy ending?
I'm in 7th Grade and Were actually watching this for Social Studies class
+Lia “TT” Taylor which is worrying since it's a dramatised version of events
I'm sorry kid but this is probably the most inaccurate, shit ww1 movie you will ever see. Watching would probably make you know less about the actual war.
I was watching it today for grade 10 history
The dialogue was nothing special, but the performances were okay. Too much time was spent on pointless Romance and everyone but James Franco's character was treated like cannon fodder. The dog fights were sort of cool, but probably not worth two hours of your time.
Cheers for the summary mate, much appreciated
Yes the trailer is great, no one should argue this, the editing and music are fantastic...but the film guys if we are all really honest its not so good.
The only war airplane film to stand the test of time is "The Memphis Belle" Mostly because the music and the fact they used "Real" aircraft on the fields, in the sky and dog-fighting along with dozens of real B-17's. Whats even more impressive apart from its massive all star cast is they shot this film for TV on a shoe string budget and im still trying to figure out how some shots were achieved. Its amazing i promise!
And if you liked this film, so be it. Movies are not made for everyone, i just really dislike digital effects.
Last sentence was important, not many people understand that a film isnt bad in generell ,just because YOU think so .
I understand your point ,but i also get why so many liked the movie.
