Another layer to the actions of Roma and their supporters in 84 was how they terrorized the greatly outnumbered Liverpool supporters before, during, and after the final, which was played in Rome. The next season Liverpool faced another Italian team in the 85 European Cup final, playing Juventus at Heysel, and had running battles with them as well but the stadium was so poor it collapsed after a rush and became a tragedy that was conveniently blamed on the Liverpool supporters, but Italian football had its own share also. Nothing happens in a vacuum.

This is known in Italy as the Coke Can game and the all edged offending can is in the Gladbach museum
I don’t get why the 1st leg of Chelsea vs Barcelona doesn’t get talked about at all but the 2nd leg does. The 1st leg had some diabolical missed calls overall both teams had terrible calls go their way

I love your videos, especially the iceberg ones, I think it would be better to do a general iceberg next time as that way you can cover topics from all over the world and not just from some parts of it
For me, I genuinely think Benfica are cursed in European finals whether its Champions League or Europa League. I mean they got to back to back Europa League finals in 2013 and 2014 and lost them both.
And not any Injury, Ramos performed a technique that is literally banned on Judo (the sport it was created), now in Judo its prohibited and means immeadiate disqualification, but in Football apparently isnt even a yellow card?
Nothing about the UAE winning the Champions League? Huh. You'd think a sovereign nation winning a competition meant for sporting clubs would be notable.
I was expecting Zagreb-Lyon 1-7 was gonna be here. There are rumours that the game was fixed. Lyon overtook Ajax in goal difference and advanced to the KO stage because of it. One of the Croatian players winked at the Lyon striker after they scored a goal. It has happened in 2011/2012
If I had a nickle for everytime a Norwegian ref ruined a London club's important Champions League game I would have 2 nickles. Not a lot, but weird it has happened twice.
He contentiously red carded Eric Abidal in the 66th minute of that game giving Chelsea a man advantage, at home, and already up by a goal. If anything, his refereeing favoritism was *for* Chelsea, not against. 🤷♂️
Funny how people who say that Barcelona cheated in 2009 forget the shameful refereeing in the first game where it looked as if Barcelona was the robbed team. People just need to accept that some referees are just bad. There are many referee mistakes that happened in the past in favour of all the clubs and if all mistakes were reverted the complete history of football as we know it would be different. I've been a fan of Barcelona for a long time and I've seen some referees lean to favour us but there were many matches where the ref's critical error would lead to us losing a match which would sometimes result in losing the title. So it all kinda evens out.
Viz, the Barcelona referee scandal was thrown out in Spanish court, for a lack of evidence. “However, as reported by EFE Deportes, the Prosecutor’s Office in Spain has seen no evidence that Barcelona’s alleged payoffs to Negreira led to result manipulation or influenced the result of any match in La Liga”, this quote comes from onefootball. The same article this quote was taken from also states, “This comes just after Juan Roca, a former La Liga referee came out to speak in favour of Barcelona, suggesting that Negreira had not asked him to influence any decision in favour of the Catalan club. There were also leaked documents that supported Barcelona and showed a clear picture of where the payments were headed.” This evidence shows that this whole scandal was just thrown together with little to no evidence, while it should still be taken seriously. But the fact that it was thrown out for a little to no evidence in Spanish court should have been mentioned in the video even if it did just deal with La Liga referees. I know this video only dealt with the UEFA champions league, but with something so serious it should’ve at least been mentioned not slandering the video though it’s still a great watch and very informational.
On the situation with PSG vs Basaksehir: The issue was that, in Romanian, black="negru". And when the players/coaches heard "negru", they associated it with "Negro", which caused all the commotion.
About the UCL 2022 final and the incidents that happened, it's just surprising that the security in the Copa Libertadores 2019 final held in my home city were very good though the police here have less equipment and training than the police in first world countries, supposedly. The only incident was that some Flamengo fans said that there was no water in the stadium 😅
You speak about the referee mistakes in Barcelona match but didnt say anything about Real Madrid matches , which are more controversial than Barcelon ones
How did you not even mention that Karius had suffered from a concussion after a colission with Ramos during that match? The 2018 CL finals should be remembered as one of the dirties performances by a single player without any consequences, since Ramos took out two Liverpool players.
European Championship Iceberg maybe?. Love these Icebergs, so well told and presented. There was a bribe involving the sale of fur coats to a referee in 1996, which saw the consequences of Dynamo Kyiv getting ejected with Aalborg taking their place.
as someone who was at Heysel I can attest that Juve fans in the “neutral” area were throwing bottles & bricks into the Liverpool end. Of course it’s terrible that anyone lost their lives especially a child, but it can’t be compared to Hillsborough, which was police negligence that led to INNOCENT fans dying, whereas Heysel was Hooliganism that led to (mostly) not so innocent people dying
6:32 a similar incident happened with Zack Stefan against Liverpool when he let mane score a goal like the benzema one and then he was shipped off on loan
I just discovered your channel and I'm glad that there are some videos about "the beautiful game". I still remember the 2005 Istanbul UCL final like was yesterday. Right after the penalty missed by Sheva I remember getting on my knees in front of the TV and started crying, at some point after crying for hours I started to vomit and my parents were seriously thinking to take me to the hospital, but I managed to calm down. I still think that the penalty for the 3rd liverpool goal was wrongfully given by the referee. I'm still loving AC Milan and I will for my entire life. Greetings from Romania! Didn't Karius suffer a head injury early on in that final? I feel it was really unfair to lump him with the blame when the medical team okayed him to play with what I believe was later diagnosed as a concussion?
No he wasn't. The story is the following: "15 mins before the game Jordan Henderson was smoking weed in the bathrooms. Karius went to pee and later smoked with Jordan.
2006 UCL Final could've ended REALLY differently with Lehmann in goal. The gap in quality between him and Almunia is huge. Also with 11 man, that Arsenal team is good enough to win their first UCL title

Maybe not that remembered by the rest of europe but still talked about in Sweden. AIK - Barcelona 1999. AIK somehow manage to get a miracle and go ahead 1 - 0 and this score stands for most of the game, until around the 80th minute. Barcelona get a corner and AIK signals for substitutions, first sub goes fine but suddenly the referee starts the game again while AIK is still making the second substitution. Barcelona scores from the corner goes on to make it 1 - 2. After the game AIK coach Stuart Baxter famously said "This is the fucking Champions League, not amateur football".

As an american newbie to the world of Football, its hard to understand this iceberg when you say "we all know what happened" in several of your examples. either way love all your content!
I like to think I still went into detail in each one to give the information needed I hope
@@Vizeh it was only the surface level ones, everything else was very detailed
combining football and morbid content is beauty, well played vizeh
Love the longer videos. They feel so natural and passionate, love the work bro
1984 Anderlecht won the UEFA cup but were found to have bribed referees
1972 Borussia Monchengladbach we’re playing Inter when a coke can was thrown at and hit an Inter player, despite winning the match 7-1, were made to replay the game and drew 0-0, knocking them out. This is known in Italy as the Coke Can game and the all edged offending can is in the Gladbach museum
I don’t get why the 1st leg of Chelsea vs Barcelona doesn’t get talked about at all but the 2nd leg does. The 1st leg had some diabolical missed calls overall both teams had terrible calls go their way
Hey Vizeh, love the vids, your content’s great. I’ve got exams this week and when I get back you know what channel I’ll be watching!
I appreciate it man, wish you best of luck!
I have loved all of these iceberg videos
I love your comments mate
2011 arsenal vs barca might be the most overexaggerated "robbery" i have ever seen.
The reason they won in the first leg was because of Messi's disallowed goal, and there was a clear pen not given, shame that it's remembered as barca robbing arsenal not the other way around.
I love your videos, especially the iceberg ones, I think it would be better to do a general iceberg next time as that way you can cover topics from all over the world and not just from some parts of it
I have done general icebergs for my first 2 that went into all parts of football, I can do a part 3 soon!
what about reals offside goals vs bayern 2017
You are missing out the vitally important thing about Karius, getting almost KO'd moments before the blunder, he was clearly concussed
For me, I genuinely think Benfica are cursed in European finals whether its Champions League or Europa League. I mean they got to back to back Europa League finals in 2013 and 2014 and lost them both.
iceberg vids always fire
Love making them pal
this didn't mention any controversial calls from the madrid threepeat? they scored like 4 offside goals and multiple questionable red cards
Sergio Ramos injured Salah and gave Karius a concussion in that UCL final, it was absolutely criminal
A bunch of Barcelona and Bayern but no Madrid? Hmm sounds kind of off
I was expecting Zagreb-Lyon 1-7 was gonna be here.
@@stephenmason9527 i wouldnt say he helped Chelsea, nor Barca, Im just gonna say his refereeing was absolute shit
On the situation with PSG vs Basaksehir:
The issue was that, in Romanian, black="negru".
Seriously?😂
Your videos are incredible and your storytelling is immersive. Keep it up!
The refereeing for the first leg of Barca Chelsea was equally as atrocious. Both teams were denied chances by the ref
You speak about the referee mistakes in Barcelona match but didnt say anything about Real Madrid matches , which are more controversial than Barcelon ones
Sorry, I got whiplash there.
Never heard Collina pronounced as Sahlina.
Hey Viz, weird question, but what is the background music for these kind of videos? Appreciate it man and a brilliant video as always!! 🔥🔥
Think I just searched for "Dark Slow No Copyrighted Music" or something like that haha
The championsss!!!❤
Iconic
Only one I can think of is Chelsea vs Barcelona and Marseille’s cheating scandal tbh
You got those spot on!
Always a good day when Vizeh uploads
Love you lad
Well edited video, Loved it
Thank you mate!
Nothing about Ronaldo’s offside hattrick vs Bayern???
I think it’s really unfair of you to only look at the 2nd leg of Chelsea vs Barcelona. The first leg was incredibly in favor of Chelsea
Iceberg hours, here we fucking go!
You know bro!
@@Vizeh Taking a break from editing for this and it's already a banger. Good stuff as usual Viz!
I don't normally watch icebergs but this is entertaining . Also your research is in depth.
CONSPIRACY THEORY: Mikel Arteta has never aged in terms of appearance, he has been 40 since 2000
6:32 a similar incident happened with Zack Stefan against Liverpool when he let mane score a goal like the benzema one and then he was shipped off on loan
I just discovered your channel and I'm glad that there are some videos about "the beautiful game". I still remember the 2005 Istanbul UCL final like was yesterday. As a huuuge AC Milan fan I was devastated for months after that game. Thank you for the content and keep up the good work!
Wow, you mentioned barca dozen times but didnt mention real madrid, referees helped them a lot when they won threepeat in UCL,ronaldo offside goal against bayern, header in the final minutes against atletico, red card for cuadrado but not to casemiro in another ucl final
UEFA vs Arsenal is a legendary battle
Please do copa libetadores & suda Americana iceberg! I think South American football is interest and has their iconic, unexpected stories and events!
4:32 the Chelsea robbery makes Torres’ 2012 second leg goal that more redeemable
Didn't Karius suffer a head injury early on in that final? I feel it was really unfair to lump him with the blame when the medical team okayed him to play with what I believe was later diagnosed as a concussion?
No, he is just a bad keeper
@@STANKORachev you don’t look into the thing before judging
Let's just ignore that karius was concussed that game
No he wasn't. The story is the following: "15 mins before the game Jordan Henderson was smoking weed in the bathrooms. Karius went to pee and later smoked with Jordan.
I think the World Cup would be a interesting iceberg
He said he’s gonna do it soon under another comment!
@@Peter_filethanks i didnt see that comment😂
@@shane.mcg8225 no problem man
its crazy to think that if benfica won even half of their european finals they would be probably top five best clubs ever.
No Real Madrid 💀💀
Where are all the Real Madrid ucl robberies?😂 like what the fuck you missed 5+ games of robbery lmfao
"Stela"- hahahaha, that is horse name, is "Steaua", meaning ,,The Star", very good video like always. Hai Dinamo !
Absolute legend 🐐
Nah you are lad!
I think I'd like to see The Darkest Crimes of Footballers Iceberg next
Happy Father's Day Vizeh!
2006 UCL Final could've ended REALLY differently with Lehmann in goal. The gap in quality between him and Almunia is huge. Also with 11 man, that Arsenal team is good enough to win their first UCL title
Not including Real Madrid's robberies in their three consecutive champions leagues is a bit crazy.
No, that's just hate
"This Is A Disgrace". ~Drogba
I knew the recent ones but the old times were really something horrible
Another fantastic iceberg video as always
Referencing the Drogba outburst in that infamous game, I'm guessing you know about the rathergood channel remix?
I did know about Heysel and the Busby Babes in the abyss coming into this but the UEFA Cup 2000 alot of what you explained with what happened I didn't know!
I would add Juventus curse in finals and Ronaldo penalty in 2017 UCL. quarter finals, amazing video as always
another vizeh iceberg video another W
9:42 2004/09? Are you alright Vizeh 😂
The Benfica curse is real it has to be judged on what has happened. Before the 1990 final apparently Eusebio went to Guttman,s grave and begged him to lift the curse
I saw that story, sadly didn't work :(
@@Vizeh I know mad as a Liverpool fan hope we get to Europa League final and play them in it next season knowing our luck lately though the curse will eventually break haha 😂
just wanted to say this is a good video, but you missed so many real madrid robberies, real madrid vs bayern, a penalty vs juve that was not even a penalty to send them to finals, also(i dont know this part very well but you can google it if you want to) there was some spanish dictator who was a real madrid fan so he payed the refferes or something like that and real madrid won la ligas and ucls because of that, but i dont know that part so you can google it
