That's an awesome looking tyranid. I'm doing a Kronos (black skin, red carapace), and will definently try this way of black on my next mini.

Thanks 😊 I hope you find it useful. Can be used to get a swam up quickly 😀
How are you tackling the carapace ?

I prime black, base coat it dark red. Then I overbrush/heavy drybrush with a regular red and finally do a light dry drybrush with orange. I used to paint thin lines of each colour instead of drybrushing, but that one termagant took 3 hours... Now I drybrush lol

Sounds good and makes sense on the dry brushing, with a hoard army like nids time per model is important haha.
I bet the look great :) - let me know how the skin works out for you 😀

What citadel skin tone replacements I could use?

      Hey
I can't give an exact match but the below are close substitutes that I would use :) essentially for the flesh tones you want to start from a neutral warm skin and work up to the pinky white tones.
Saddle brown (carapace base, red brown) - could be swapped for Tuskgor Fur
Medium skin (first layer, medium skin)- could be swpped for Unfor Flesh or Kislev Flesh
Light skin tone (second layer, pale skin) - could be swapped out for Flayed One Flesh or Palid Wych Flesh.
I will say I have not tried these specific paints, but providing they are in the same rough tones, it should work.
If you give it a go, let us know how you get on, as would love to see what it comes out like for you.
Hope this helped even if a bit long :)
      Have a good one
      Ben
