Death Incarnate – Painting a Warhammer 40K Eversor Assassin
In the brutal wars of the 41st millennium, entire worlds burn, and battles rage with towering war machines and endless legions of soldiers. But not every fight is won through sheer firepower-sometimes, victory comes from a single, calculated strike. That’s where the Eversor Assassin comes in. Engineered for pure destruction, this unstoppable killer is a terrifying blend of speed, aggression, and ruthless efficiency.
Today, we’re bringing this lethal operative to life with a striking paint job that stays true to the box art while adding a personal twist to fit within my wider army. Every detail of this model tells a story-from the deep shadows of the bodysuit to the vivid contrast of the armor and the eerie glow of its cybernetic enhancements. With careful highlighting, subtle weathering, and just the right amount of menace, we’ll transform this miniature into something that looks like it’s stepped straight out of the lore.
To tie it all together, we’re also customizing the base, replacing the stock design with something that better fits the grim, war-torn setting of my army. The final result? A model that stands out on the tabletop while still blending seamlessly with the force it fights alongside.
Let me know what you think-what would you have done differently? And if you want to see more quick and effective ways to bring miniatures to life, check out my Darkstrider painting video next. Don’t forget to subscribe so we can see you in the next one!

    I'll be honest. I thought I was clicking on a nine minute video retrospective of all of the minis you painted over the year, with your thoughts and commentary on how the year went. You got me!😂 Five minutes in, and you're still working on the first mini, so I check the timer...9 hours. Whoa. It's a pretty cool idea, though. A retrospective actually isn't a bad idea for a video. I'd watch that until the end. Did you have any videos that performed a lot better than expected? Did you have any videos that received an unexpected amount of hate? (I had one) Did you work on some projects for videos that didn't get made into a video? Keep up the great work, friend, and best to you in the new year!

      Hey You are a possible mind reader, and I'm sorry if you felt misled. Aimed at the video being something that can be chucked on while hobbying as background, etc. I appreciate that there is little value for longer-term viewers. I am, however, in the process of taking photos of all the models from this year and will be doing thoughts and views on how the year went (hoping it will be ready for Friday coming.) Will try to build in the above mentioned ideas and if you have anything else you want me to cover let me know (I eill try to do a community post aswell 😀) Just act surprised when it comes out next week 😀 (happy to respond to questions now if your interested and don't want to wait 😉) Hope you had a nice Christmas Bw Ben

      Seriously bro, you come up with the coolest ideas for painting videos! So unique, and stand out from all of the rehashed ideas out there. You deserve a lot more traffic. I had a bunch of comments on this but I may be a little pedantic about things. Especially as I love the idea of referencing models to something relatable. And from that point of view you hit the mark with the Canadian theme. I have a couple of suggestions. My son has built a big traitor guard army and funnily enough painted them red in homage to the Blood Guard of the Gaunts Ghosts novels. What we did do when painting the infantry was paint the armour a different shade of red because it is a different and more rigid material and would not colour quite the same as the cloth. The other idea is, instead of the plastic card for the helmets use the heads from the Bolt Action British Canadian WW2 late war set. The BA kit has heads to spare and you would get a slightly better look I think. Just a suggestion. I'll check out my figures and see if BA and GW have the same size 28mm and let you know.

    • @TheMiniPaintingPage
      @TheMiniPaintingPage Місяць тому

      Cheers for the feedback and time in writing out the comments 😀 I agree on the armour elements. It would help it stand out a little more. I might look to go back in and push the highlight a little more on the armour to show it's harder and more reflective. I must say I have not really used any bolt action, but for some reason, have it. I'm mind they are on a smaller scale. But to be fair, the guard heads are not large, so it could be a possibility. If you do have some kits and can size check? I would love to know as that is a cheaper route to extra bits like heads or possible weapons etc.. Bw Ben

    Hi Everyone Just to advise there seems to have been a letter missed off one of the headers for the paints used in the video, as normal I do not think the specific paint is the most important but please note that references to Dak Flesh (VMC) is actually Dark Flesh from the VMC range. I am sure everyone would have known this from the content but wanted to highlight as I missed it on the review :( have a great one Bw Ben

      @@TheMiniPaintingPage It also insane that you did all that in 40mins, if I would do it in such a detail I'd need to take double the time. You're truly a skillful painter! I got actually some ideas for future your content. Two actually, one is that you should totally get some rotating disc (lazy susan like) where you showcase the miniature at the end slowly rotating, I bet we all would love to see your minis all around. Second idea or request is could you do any admech, do you have any plans for em in future? Would love to know your ideas and thoughts about those as they are highly detailed! You nailed the thousand sons combat patrol on your last vid, I have painted 3tzaangors and it was hard, but you made it seem like it is an easy and simple task with greatest results! I bet you could easily do even the hardest of the painting tasks with flying colours! I am very glad I found your channel (actually I did just yesterday, I instantly subbed) Godspeed!

      Cheers. Thanks for the suggestion, I have invested in a turntable and will aim to add some more shots of the final models. Am also thinking of doing a showcase of some / all models from the year. In regards to Admech, I will be getting to them, at minimum want one combat patrol of each faction so can say 100% there will be one, however It might end up being a new year timeline for it. I will see if I can bring it forward 😀 what subfaction are you looking at (Mars?) Bw Ben

      Awesome!! I can't wait to see all minis you have done! I love to see masters at work, itz great idea to paint the combat patrols, it is very epic showcase of all armies and the game mode is very fun as well. I personally do my admech with red and green, red for robes, green for all energy lences and pipes, but you know all bright colours look striking on em! Similar to necrons, I just did very close to the box art, but after seeing your golden royal warden I just have to try that out!! It is even better than the original so I fully trust your decisions on any colour scheme. It is fun to look how you kitbash your minis too, swapping the weapons with tzaangors and all tiny things like that go long way! I'll be watching all rest of your content and every upcoming vid as well, you're that good! I wish more people knew about this channel. Glad I found it!

    Do you think i could replace the wash you made with Vallejo Game Blue ink? Maybe water it down?

    • @TheMiniPaintingPage
      @TheMiniPaintingPage 2 місяці тому

      It should (assuming in place of the contrast wash). You would need to check the colour and consistency but should work. You just want a semi transparent blue to tint the raised surfaces blue and the shadows to a darker tone. Then use the wash in the highlight mix for consistency. As I haven't tried it personally i cannot say for 100% but in the pre contrast days I would have used thinned ink So long story should : should work, but best do a small test if you have limited models :) Glad you like the video and scheme 😀

      @TheMiniPaintingPage 2 місяці тому

      Yea, it's not a cheap hobby, but it's a good shout on the metal models. From memory, the metal GK models are still nice sculpts and can also be stripped after without much impact on the model (normally , allowing multiple re painting opportunities unlike plastic that could be effected by some stripping. Are you going with the normal red and silver ? (Similar to the ones on my channel, albeit mine are with uncommon paints) Bw Ben

    A Wraithlord.... Not as striking as a Wraithknight, but it's what you get in the box I suppose. My first Iyanden Army I made 31 years ago, (yeah, I'm old, so no contrast paints and all that!) was amazingly good looking, but not very strong as the Eldar (I refuse to refer to them as "Aeldari") were nerfed around 2nd-3rd edition? I kitbashed one of the first Vyper jetbikes when the rules were released in White Dwarf. Iyanden are so striking on the battlefield, add a few Aspect Warriors and/or Harlequins, and they look stunning, as well as easy to paint (but the small parts can be fiddly!). Nice use of overbrushing, gives a decent base and is a very efficient way of speedpainting, althouth I'm so much of a perfectionist, I aspire to go with character standard on basic infantry, which is why I have 7 unfinished armies....... I have a problem........ 😀

    • @TheMiniPaintingPage
      @TheMiniPaintingPage 2 місяці тому

      Hi That sounds awesome, I used to use a similar method pre contrast using inks, but contrast makes it a lot more accessible now 😀. Agree on the Eldar being given a very short stick from gw on most areas. I may progress onto a WK in the future as I want to try and repose them into fluid movements, but that's a project for down the line. If interested ( self promo alert), I did another video on the fareseer for the CP to a slightly higher standard (not competition level or anything but a step up on the troops) Either way, I appreciate the feedback and comments. Do you have any preference on other Eldar vids in the future when they come up in the cards? Bw Ben

    I've got a Death Guard faction done in black armor. Its weathered and rusty, with rusted silver trim. Pustules and sores are done in a dull yellow-green. Areas of the armor are leaking fluis that is a bright green done up to look like it's glowing, with areas like the joints of armor and eye lenses on the helmets done in the same way to look as if the glow is coming from inside the armor

    • @TheMiniPaintingPage
      @TheMiniPaintingPage 2 місяці тому

      That sounds really cool, I imagine the wear tear and glow add some colours to draw the eye. How do you do the glow effect? Just build up in brightness and greens ? Hope you liked the video Bw Ben

    • @raeishimura
      @raeishimura 2 місяці тому

      @@TheMiniPaintingPage I start mostly with a drybrush of a really dark green, and just build up carefully to an almost neon green at the points i want glowing. I actually ended up dusting over a layer of neon effect paint too, so that it actually glows under a blacklight. The various greens and yellowish-greens really pull the eye around the model, giving them a pretty dark, haunted look that worked out really well for Death Guard. the deep rusted and damaged sections keep interest on the black armor without needing to worry too much about the actual black sections because the eye is just pulled away from them. I did weapons in a dark, rough iron kind of color too, which stands out a bit from the rest of the model, so that helps too. My goal was basically to paint the armor black, and make it so you look at everything BUT the black, lol. It works out though. they have a very dark and eerie vibe that i love, and the glowing paint always surprises people

    Bro, this video is so good! Very interesting behind the scenes look. I had some big questions about audio, that I personally struggle with, but you covered clearly. Thank you. I honestly had no idea how to get my face on camera, paired with painting b-roll, that also sounds good. I have a Rhode video mic pro+, that I think sounds atrocious when I use it while filming. As a result, I just dub my voice over painting footage, which I recognize isn't nearly as engaging as the content that you produce (and the content of the huge channels out there). Keep up the great work! Oh, that DJI pocket also seems like a nifty little device that I may have to invest in. I wasn't aware it existed before this.

      Cheers for the comment. It means a lot, and I'm mainly glad I could help. The equipment should also be listed in the description, but it cam be costly, if you don't need all the features you can try to use a Lave Mic direct into camera (I use a boya omnidirectional) pre amps on most modern cameras will work well enough. There is also a cheaper, smaller version of the h4n, which I think also works similar hust with fewer channels (check online etc etc to make sure 😉 ) but the H6 is good if you may use fir podcasting in future 😀 If there is anything I can go into more detail on just let me know Bw Ben

      @ThrehaneMiniatures no problem, always happy to chat and possibly even help 😀 I did mean a lapel mic, I went for a boya 2meter cable option, I use an omnidirectional mic and point the capsule down. • @ThrehaneMiniatures
      @ThrehaneMiniatures 2 місяці тому

      @TheMiniPaintingPage Ok, try not to judge me too harshly...most of my videos were edited on a 2012 Mac Mini, using the free installed iMovie software. I recently "upgraded" to a used 2019 MacBook, and I'm still using the pre installed iMovie software. I'm a retired firefighter, so I'm trying to be frugal with my hobby. If this UA-cam thing ever takes off, I'd like to reinvest any income from it, into improving my production. It seems that the really popular channels all do the "taking head" thing that is really good for getting their personally out there, and creating a bond with the audience. I'd like to get there. You're doing a fantastic job with your presentation. I think you have that approach nailed down. I keep watching, and expecting your channel to blow up any day now. You seem very comfortable in front of the camera, which is something that I'll have to work on.

    • @TheMiniPaintingPage
      @TheMiniPaintingPage 2 місяці тому

      Thanks 😊 we are all in the same boat with this game and in no place to judge. Personally, if your system can run it, I would look at Davinchi Resolve. They have a free version that has most of the functionality. (There are also a few channels that have tutorials on it.) But I do appreciate it would be a possible delay in transition, but it can do everything from cutting, etc, up to full colour correction and vfx workflow - so it could be worth a youtube to see what you think. But at the same point, your vids are great (and loving the thumbnail style) so I don't want to seem like a fountain of knowledge and break a good thing 😀 Bw Ben

    • @TheMiniPaintingPage
      @TheMiniPaintingPage 2 місяці тому

      Sorry for the delay. I wanted to go through my colours and check rather than go from memory. As a caution, I use older citadel names pre contrast, most are still the same but some have changed in name and I don't know the new version and there are no colour matches so the results may vary For the green under suit I would use: castellan green as the base , elysian green as the midtone, moot green & elysian green mix for highlight. For armour I would use: screamer pink as the base, emperors children or fulgrim pink for highlight (depending how saturated you want it) For leather I would use: mournfang brown as the base, kislev flesh as the midtone , screaming skull for the highlight. The weapon I would swap golden brown for ungor flesh, screaming skull for the highlight. For green armour I would use: kabalite green as the base and mix up to pure moot green. I think that's all of the other range alternatives, naturally did not mention the citadel products used as they remain the same. Let me know how it works out if you give it a go, but overall any similar colours to those I use in the video shouod get a similar result. Bw Ben
