One scheme that works quite well is the one I use for my characters and unit leaders. Mostly the palid hand/heresy scheme but with the red right arm of the dusk raider scheme, the red arm stands out really nicely against the bonewhite, bronze and olive green.

That's a good shout. As you said gives a pop of colour against the typical pallet.
Glad you enjoyed it and may nab the idea on future 😀

I've got a Death Guard faction done in black armor. Its weathered and rusty, with rusted silver trim. Pustules and sores are done in a dull yellow-green. Areas of the armor are leaking fluis that is a bright green done up to look like it's glowing, with areas like the joints of armor and eye lenses on the helmets done in the same way to look as if the glow is coming from inside the armor

That sounds really cool, I imagine the wear tear and glow add some colours to draw the eye.
How do you do the glow effect? Just build up in brightness and greens ?
      Hope you liked the video

@@TheMiniPaintingPage I start mostly with a drybrush of a really dark green, and just build up carefully to an almost neon green at the points i want glowing. I actually ended up dusting over a layer of neon effect paint too, so that it actually glows under a blacklight. The various greens and yellowish-greens really pull the eye around the model, giving them a pretty dark, haunted look that worked out really well for Death Guard. the deep rusted and damaged sections keep interest on the black armor without needing to worry too much about the actual black sections because the eye is just pulled away from them. I did weapons in a dark, rough iron kind of color too, which stands out a bit from the rest of the model, so that helps too. My goal was basically to paint the armor black, and make it so you look at everything BUT the black, lol. It works out though. they have a very dark and eerie vibe that i love, and the glowing paint always surprises people

I think the Palid Hand style scheme works well to and can be done on an army without much issue. 😉
This video makes me think I do need to work on getting better at painting glass bottles 🤣
