Paul Burns was Queen Elizabeth’s personal bagpiper and would wake her up every morning by playing. Yesterday he played to send her off on her final journey 🥺🫶🏼
The most moving moment of the whole ceremony. I'm listening and listening endlessly to this magnificent pipe lament... Nothing else expresses so well the salute to the Queen Elizabeth the 2nd. With respect from Venice, Italy.
It was really difficult for me to hold my tears especially when the bagpipes music started to fade. I couldn't imagine the feeling of all the royal members and those who knew her closely when they listen to this lament. Rest in eternal peace, your Majesty.
🦋 The morning of the Queen's funeral, I got up at 4 a.m. (USA east coast) and watched every moment for 7 hours, mesmerized and saddened by the beauty and grandeur of the day. Then came this woefully touching song at the close of the Westminster service. Stunning and awesome! An unforgettable experience. 🦋
@@markdavies1061 🦋 You're very welcome Mark! I have always loved Britain and the lovely people! Never traveled over the "pond" , but watch some British Tv shows🥰 and definitely learned much British history over the days of Queen Elizabeth's death and memorials. The TV coverage was amazing indeed! 🦋
I can always keep it together until the Piper begins to play. The sound of bagpipes get me every single time. Thank you for posting this. Rest in peace, Her Majesty👑🕊
My husband played for her in one of the last performances she ever heard. What you may not knows this Piper played for her every day under her bedroom window the very tune that he laid her to rest with. An honor to serve her… May she rest in peace. God save the King.
Hauntingly beautiful...a fitting final tribute for her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth.. May she rest in peace with her beloved husband....HRH, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.. for eternity ❤️
I miss her so much 😔 An incredible lady, inspirational person, remarkable monarch and reign....such compassion, guidance and wisdom....truly a pillar of constant strength for the nation for so long. You will be missed dearly. RIP your majesty...Long live the King!
We watched this on the day of the funeral and felt that with this lament on the bagpipes her soul drifted to heaven what a amazing musician. So beautiful I was in tears.
Amazing just Amazing. This event goes on as the single most incredible funeral ever. Great job to all involved. She will be missed amazing 70yrs as the queen. Rest my love you deserve it. All hale the queen on of the greatest women in human history.
Listened just now and just came to learn about the tradition of awakening the queen.Really very touched and sad also. She was really the beloved queen .May she rest in peace and may her son rule with same grace and courage. The last tune at her funeral is very very touching.
From the states on the far side of the pond. I still can’t fathom that Her Royal Majesty is gone. She was Queen when I was born. She was timeless. Permanent. I can’t wrap my head around saying The King. It’s always been The Queen. I am truly sorry for your loss Great Britain.
It was reported today in the media that Charles has hired and retained Paul Burns to be his personal piper. He will be playing the pipes beneath Charles's bedroom window every morning at 9 am.
The comment ln TV was " the piper turns and walks away" . I cried a river then and today when I watch this again! How the Royals were able to not cry I will never understand , they maybe have a needle in the shoe to itch themselves that prevents them from crying. I dont know. Queen Elizabeth II was literally one of a kind and I am glad to live in her aera and witnessed her even here in Germany. She was outstanding. Rest in Peace Her Majesty

The irony is that for a number of centuries, the British outlawed the playing of bagpipes as they were seen as promoting rebellion in Scotland and Ireland.
🦋 Someone wondered why this clip is in black and white. The day of the funeral was the most brilliant, sunny beautiful day with colors abounding and overflowing everywhere. The final moments in Westminster the world's mood changed to heavy sadness and deep respect for the Royal Family. The black and white film was perfect for my mood and probably yours? 🦋🦋🦋
@@JoeyMWilson B&W video is wonderful. I agree. Drama is much more alive when something is left to the imagination. The sadness was palpable during the "Sleep, Dearie, Sleep" song . B&W just enhanced the mood. 🦋
Apparently he was so overcome, that he didn't trust himself not to burst into tears. That's what I heard. But yet Countess Sophie & Prince Edward had no shame wiping tears away, so why it should bother him to show emotion, I don't know. My initial thought was that since he lives in the US now, he doesn't consider King Charles his head of state, but that was just a guess.
All opinions are welcome here mate and thanks for your honesty and passion BUT my honesty is that Charles is Our Queen's son and I feel he will honour his Mum during his time as King. To honour Our late Queen we need to honour her family too ❤❤❤
Realisng Charles is now the King and the baggage he comes with (lousy husband, affairs with married women, "donations" from people who have family members lined to international terrorist networks) makes me appreciate how much I took Queen Elizabeth for granted.
The symbolism of the bag piper slowly walking out, the music fading away and the silence that follows...that was crafted beautifully
A personal request from ER herself ❤️

She requested this herself before she passed? Wow😢😢😢 did she knew she was gonna pass away?
I'm English and the two pipers stole the day for me , Scotland really did the royal family proud
Without a doubt the most moving part of the service
Paul Burns was Queen Elizabeth’s personal bagpiper and would wake her up every morning by playing. Yesterday he played to send her off on her final journey 🥺🫶🏼
I bet he was choked up playing that....I believe HM affectionately called him "Pipes"
He also woke everyone else up!
Kudos to PM Burns. Tough to pipe for someone to whom you were personally attached. Superb job.
The most moving moment of the whole ceremony. I'm listening and listening endlessly to this magnificent pipe lament...

I like to think the bag pipes fading is her soul going on. I'm glad I woke up at 5:30 am just for this moment.
Bag pipes fading was the obvious symbolism that Scotland will be leaving. She was the last queen of scots.
What a beautiful thought...Thanks for watching and commenting 🤗🤗🤗
I cried when he played for her his last lament . 🏴❤️
It was done for this
It was really difficult for me to hold my tears especially when the bagpipes music started to fade. I couldn't imagine the feeling of all the royal members and those who knew her closely when they listen to this lament. Rest in eternal peace, your Majesty.

I'm not a royalist and I've never really "got" the appeal of bagpipes before. But the lone piper doing his thing was hauntingly beautiful.
This must be one of the most saddest things I’ve seen ❤️

I do know any other musical instrument that could have betrayed the image of farewell so beautifully as the Highland Bagpipe.
