You didn't ruined that truck! You only made it way way better with that LS, and yup you will get arround 18mpg instead of 5mpg with that old boat anchor 😂. I'm subscribing just cause of the LS
@@machnikgarage I'm currently building a 67 f100 short bed, u used a 5.3 with an nv3500 manual transmission, I did a front crown Vic suspension swap too. Will se how it comes out!
@@machnikgarage I've seen many builds with even the 6.0 with a mild cam and it holds up. And yes it's a stock set up, I don't think I need more power than that. It's just a street truck.
I think he's asking for mount info...I just started buying LS parts for a '79 supercab I picked up. Bought a set of '73-'79 F150 LS swap engine & transmission mounts off eBay from a shop called Vintage4x4.
Check out my other videos. I’ve got most of the install on my channel as far as transmission and engine mounts. Ls/4l60E fit in these trucks very well.

I was always under the impression that the nv3500 wasn’t strong enough for the 5.3. Was this a stock combination?

Thank you for the info. I will have to keep that in mind for a future build.
When the tape fails, old license plates and self tapers make great hole pluggers.
I need mounts ino ASAP
I’m not sure what that means

well one thing about that Ford will give you unlimited miles now
Ive always liked the body style but also like the reliability of a gm.
I have a 79 f150 with a inline 6 how hard is the ls swap !? Any info/guidance would be appreciated

Why not, many hot-roders put 350’s in 32 high-boys. It is what it is. Chevys are cheaper and more plentiful!
How did you set up the shift linkage?
I used one of those “I did it” kits that attach the the bottom of the column on the factory shift lever. Very little modification needed.
@@machnikgarage Thank you!
A Ford will get you there but an LS will get you back home. 💯🆒
Well said!
